Stand a chance to win a weekend away to meet the lions at Emoya Big Cat Sanctuary in Limpopo. Grade 4 - 7 pupils, simply follow these steps to enter:
Draw your favourite lion from the #33 lions. (See pics on http://www.33lions.org)
Hand in your drawing to Mrs Wolmarans or Mrs Kotzè on or before 16 September. Your drawings of the lions will be displayed at the Performing Arts Evening on Wednesday, 21 September. The winner of the competition will be announced early in Term 4. The drawings will be taken to Emoya Sanctuary,
where they will be displayed, and put on canvasses. Information about the 33 lions will be displayed in the Blue Corridor. ABOUT THE LIIONS
33 rescue lions arrived at the Emoya Big Cat Sanctuary in Limpopo, South Africa on Sunday 1 May 2016. The 33 travelled from Peru to OR Tambo International, Johannesburg, in what was the biggest animal airlift of its kind. The arrival marked the culmination of ADI’s Operation Spirit of Freedom, an historic mission launched in 2007 to save wild circus animals in Peru and Colombia, and bring them home. The 33 will live out the rest of their lives in the natural African habitat of the Emoya Big Cat Sanctuary, first in separate bonding camps and then in large bush habitats as part of family groups. Our donations, contributions and support will help to build their permanent homes, feed and care for the lions, and provide them with the medical attention and ongoing enrichment they need. Page 6
Inter-House Foundation Phase Art Competition Our Inter-House Foundation Phase Art Competition took place from 23 - 25 August. The theme was My Favourite Disney Character and My Spring Garden. The Art works were done on white pillow cases using fabric pastel. It was difficult to judge as all of our budding artists produced such colourful pieces of Art. Third place Second place First place
