SOUTHWEST AIRLINES COMES ON BOARD AS OFFICIAL AIRLINE OF TRINITY REP Providence, RI: Trinity Rep is proud to announce a new partnership naming Southwest Airlines the Official Airline of Trinity Rep, and a supporter of the 2014 Young Actors Summer Institute. This is the first time the theater has partnered with an airline, which opens up many opportunities for the company. As Official Airline of Trinity Rep, Southwest Airlines will provide air travel for the theater’s artists and staff to attend conferences, special projects and events.
“Thanks to Southwest Airlines, Trinity Rep will be able to advance the work on our stages, learn best practices, and share our knowledge and talent with the American theater community,” says Curt Columbus, Trinity Rep's Richard L. Bready Artistic Director. “Southwest is giving us the great gift of allowing Trinity Rep’s artists and staff to attend and participate in national conferences that we never could have considered because of prohibitive travel costs, and helping offset some travel expenses that we would have incurred normally, for example, bringing in an out-of-town designer to work on a show. In addition to naming Southwest the Official Airline of Trinity Rep, we are excited to celebrate their generosity by recognizing Southwest Airlines as a sponsor of this year’s Young Actors Summer Institute, our comprehensive arts enrichment summer program for students in grades K to 12."
“I admire Curt and Michael Gennaro not only as leaders in the arts community, but as individuals who care deeply about making Trinity Rep a destination for families, students, and so many others to enjoy everything the organization has to offer,” Jill Simonson, Southwest Airlines’ Regional Leader for Community Affairs & Grassroots, explains in choosing to partner with Trinity Rep. “At Southwest, we also strive to provide our customers with friendly customer service and a great experience along the way. Trinity Rep does, too.”
