Entry Requirements
Entry onto the programme is by individual merit. Normally students under the age of 21 will have at least 1 A Level or BTEC National Diploma/Certificate or equivalent. Mature Candidates – experience can often be taken into consideration in lieu of formal qualifications. Grades are important; however, our offers are not solely based on academic results. We are interested in creative people that demonstrate a strong commitment to their chosen subject area and therefore we welcome applications from individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. To assess student suitability for their chosen course we normally arrange interviews for all applicants at which your skills, achievements and life experience will be considered as well as your qualifications.
BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care Level 5 & 6
A wide range of international qualifications which are equivalent to two A Level passes, including International Baccalaureate and European Baccalaureate are recognised. The University will normally accept students who have completed a recognised International Foundation Programme, for example, those offered by UK Further Education Colleges, Universities, and Colleges of Higher Education.
Applicants to this programme would typically be technically minded, and they may have previously studied engineering, computing, mathematics or the sciences. Normally applicants will be required to successfully demonstrate these through an interview English language proficiency at or exceeding an average IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent in any other approved test), with no score less than 5.5 in any components of the test.
BA (Hons) Business Management and BSc (Hons) Cloud Computing

BA (Hons) Leadership and Management Skills for the Workplace
The vast majority of students following this programme will have progressed from an initial year of study on the Certificate of Higher Education in Skills for the Workplace. In addition learners from other differing backgrounds tend to be attracted to this programme. It is recognised that many candidates for this programme could be returning to study after several years in the workplace.
Mature applicants without formal qualifications are required to demonstrate their capacity to pursue and benefit from the programme and will be required to follow the University’s regulations for the Recognition of Prior Learning. 1)Normally, the possession of a minimum of a 2:2 UK first degree or an equivalent international qualification recognised by UK NARIC or work experience of five years at a senior managerial level in lieu of first degree.
2)English language proficiency at or exceeding an overall IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent in any other approved test), with no score less than 5.5 in any components of the test.
3)Normally work experience of two years or more at a managerial or supervisory level is expected.
Doctor of Business Administration (DBA):
1)The normal minimum entrance requirement for applicants for candidature for professional doctorates is a master’s degree with a Merit classification or an overall mark of minimum 60% in an area relevant to the doctoral programme, awarded by a UK or other recognised University or higher education institution, or by the Council for National Academic Awards (CNAA).
2)1+2 Model: Proficiency in English of candidates whose first language is not English is at or exceeding an average IELTS score (or equivalent in any other approved test) of 6.0 with no lower than 5.5 in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
