Love on Fire Beloved friends, This Sunday we will gather for a fabulous Feast Day in the life of the church called “Pentecost”. It is […] The post Love on Fire appeared first on Trinity Episcopal Church in Downtown Toledo.

Celebrating Father’s Day Beloved Friends, while there is absolutely nothing “religious” about this Sunday’s celebration of Father’s Day, there is, I would suggest, something holy and sacred. TRINITY VOICES This week we are beginning a new regular feature for Trinity Topics. This will be an opportunity for Trinity members to share with you the joys and challenges of our mutual ministry. The goals include keeping you informed, celebrating what we are accomplishing together, acknowledging that sometimes this work is hard, and helping you connect ministry projects with the people who have oversight. As your Junior Warden, I’m excited for this opportunity to let you know that things are actually going well for Trinity right now. Our visioning project, necessary and compelling work, is leading us to deeper identity and connection. Our staff’s commitment and focus on the day-to-day operations of our congregation is freeing us for creativity in how to live out our mission. Our connection to the city is deepening through projects like Art Loop and Toledo Streets. Our worship life is enriched by musical variety, creative display, and a variety of preaching voices. I could go on… What I want to say today is that I’m grateful. Life at Trinity is not perfect. It was never meant to be. We are not perfect people. We were never meant to be. Perfection is never the goal. When God looked upon what God had made, God did not say it was perfect. God said it was "good", even "very good". Goodness is the point. Gratitude embraces goodness. Today I give thanks for what has been, what is, and what will be. Peace,
