Triple J's Fantasy Football Report

EDITORS’ INTRO The information contained herein will make any fantasy football player better than they currently are, from carefully vetted rankings list to the review of actual high stakes draft boards for 2018. From the carefully selected team Power Rankings to each teams’ boom and bust players, you will find all the information needed to help you draft a winning Fantasy Football team. Between Scatty, Triple J, and the other contributors you have the ability to see the relevant fantasy football information through the eyes of actual High Stakes Fantasy Football Players. While you have read the articles and posts from all the “so-called” experts, what leagues, if any, have they won. In Triple J’s Fantasy Football Magazine, the contributors are all proven High Stakes Fantasy Football Winners, where league entries are $1,500+ and the stakes are real. We are not playing with people who are reading off cue cards and are easy on the eyes, we are playing with vetted, knowledgeable players who all want nothing more than to win. We will bet any reader dollars to donuts they can take Matthew Berry’s Top 100 fact list, ESPN’s experts, and NFL Fantasy Blow Hards advice against our magazine advice, and barring injuries, you will win 90% of the time with our advice. In fact, if you do not make your league playoffs using my advice, shoot me an email, and in 2019, we will personally assist you in your draft! Do not tire yourself trying to figure out everything yourself, we have done it here for you. We have placed it right at your fingertips in an easy to read and comprehensible format. We have stated the players from each team which you should avoid like the plague. Throughout the magazine you can view different draft boards from actual $350/team league with a $250,000 Championship grand prize of numerous different high stakes players with a track record of winning. Each of their draft boards is analyzed at least through round 5. Study the draft boards and use them to your advantage. With injuries and drops the boards will change as NFL season gets closer but you can learn a lot by seeing where players are drafted now. The actual high stakes leagues start with a $1,750 entry do not draft until the end of August, however, in my experience the $350 leagues are very close to the average draft position (ADP) of $1,750.00 leagues and up. The golden nuggets can be found in rounds 12-20. Do you see an unfamiliar name? Google it and try to figure out why a high stakes player is drafting him and use this to your advantage. You need to stop looking at Fantasy Football as an offshoot of the NFL and start thinking of it as a game all onto itself. A game that once you mastered will win you a lot of Money while you simultaneously enjoy the sport of football. In addition to everything contained in the magazine, you can stay on top of the Fantasy Football World by visiting www.triplejsfantasyfootballreport.com and email the editors with questions to pick their brains at: triplejsfantasyfootballreport@gmail.com

NEW ENGLAND

Patriots The Pats are atop the power rankings for a reason, because they deserve it. This is hard to write coming from a die-hard Jet fan. Tom Brady has shown no signs of slowing up and even if he did, the Super Bowl loss should add enough fuel to the fire to keep the Pats on top until they are not on top any more. Without further ado, here is everything of relevance you need to know about the Pats.

PHILADELPHIA

Eagles The Eagles are our Superbowl Champs. The only reason they are not number one is because they lost to the Patriots. They had a magical season and I hope this is the start of an Eagle’s Dynasty. However, until I see how this season plays out, I can not take away from the history of the Patriots.

Jaguars Tom Coughlin can fix any team and build them into a winner. He is on the right track with the Jags DST and Fournette. The Jaguars are getting the pieces in place to be a formidable team for seasons to come. I like the team on paper let us hope it translates to winning squad.

Rams I am not sold on Gurley and Goff. I am not sold on their new big name additions. I am not sold on letting their best cornerback go, however, I am sold on their coach Sean McVay. I truly think Sean McVay is a miracle worker and he can have the Rams a legit contender.

DALLAS

Cowboys The Cowboys, love them or hate them, they are a new force in the NFL for years to come with Dak and Zeke. I think in 2018 teams will play better Defense against the Cowboys, but I do believe that Dak and Zeke will still prevail. The kids got skills. I think their inexperience will let them down at some point and keep them from making the big dance, but they do have the talent to get that far.

He is not a traditional deep sleeper but he is a great player. Last year, Cole Beasley, led the Cowboys in receptions. The guy is a 100% player. I love watching him play. He is just an electrifying player and Dak trust him so this is a wide receiver potentially could put up wide receiver 1 for PPR purposes; maybe that’s a reach, but wide receiver two numbers for sure and you can get him in the 10th round easily. Put him on your roster feel comfortable drafting him as a wide receiver 2 in the 10th plus round.

Raiders The Raiders are another team I am ranking higher than most based on their coaching (see a pattern). Gruden is a proven winner and an amazing Coach. The Raiders only got stronger in the oseason. Jon Gruden will keep the Raiders on track and with the addition of Jordy Nelson the team will only get better.

SEATTLE

Seahawks Russell Wilson is my favorite QB in the NFL right now. He is a winner and can win with any team. I think if Russell Wilson can stay healthy all season they have a better chance to make the Superbowl than the Cowboys. However, the Hawks O-line still looks questionable and their running back situation is a rookie running back not named Barkley.

MINNESOTA

Vikings Without the Vikings Defense, I would have ranked the Vikings last on my power rankings. I have no faith in Kirk Cousins, the Vikings OC, or their second year running back. I think defenses can win championships (ironic since their defense lost the big game for them) however, I don’t think Cousins will lose them games. For fantasy purposes there is still a lot to be had on this Vikings Squad.

PITTSBURGH

Steelers The Steelers are getting older, slower, and they still have not won any big games in a long time. If the Steelers stay healthy and Big Ben Returns to top 10 QB form they will be an unstoppable NFL football team. They have better combination of skill positions players than any other team. They have 2 top 10 Fantasy Football Players, no other team can make that argument. However, this team every week someone doesn’t show up. They need everyone to show up and they can starting being great again.

Texans They have made the playoffs twice without a real QB. With Watson they got a real QB, now let us hope he stays healthy. I do believe they will be back in the playoffs. The only reason I did not rank the Texans higher up is because Watson sample size was small and his injury was bad. However, Watson is a pedigree winner. You can not teach that you have to be born with it and Watson is born with it. With Watson in control of the offense and a healthy Watts in control of the Defense, the Texans could be a dark horse serious contender for the Super bowl in 2018. (AP Photo/Michael Wyke)

Panthers The Panthers got hit hard by injuries last year and that was a shame. I think with everyone back and healthy they can be a real force in the NFL. This team has too much talent to not be back as a serious contender. Cam Newton, Greg Olsen, and Christian McCaffrey and as always the defense is just solid. I expect great things from the Panthers this season. (AP Photo/David Goldman)

DETROIT

Lions Stafford is a real QB. Most NFL teams would be grateful to have a QB like Stafford behind center. Now with their new Rocket Scientist head coach perhaps we finally get to see the QB fly. I am not sold on their non existent run game. The Lions as a full team unit need to be on the same page. Every game it seem like one of the three units fails to show up. If the Lions were to show up with all three units Offense, Defense, and Special Teams firing on all cylinders they would be a team to beat

INDIANAPOLIS

Colts If there is any truly overrated team in the NFL it is the Colts. Seems like most people still think Peyton Manning’s ghost stuck around and will inspire the team to be better than they really are, but Peyton left and so did any chance of the Colts being a good team. If Luck, Hilton, and the rest played at the top of their game, maybe they could get something done. However, I just don’t see it happening. That being said there is still some fantasy relevance to be had for the Colts so all is not lost.

TENNESSEE

Titans Titan fans should be optimistic heading into 2018. They have a lot of pieces to get them to a winning season. The big question mark is which Marcus will show up? If they get halfway decent QB play out of Marcus they can make moves. If piss poor playing Marcus shows up I don't see much happening for the Titans. Lewis and Henry can only carry the team so far.

GREEN BAY

Packers Any team QBed by Aaron Rodgers would find themselves on the top of any power rankings even if that team was the Browns. Rodgers is just that good at QB. However, as we have seen, a team needs more than just a great QB. They need a full team. With Jordy Nelson gone, their run game suspect and a neglected Defense, they will be an okay team led by a legendary QB. Just too bad Rodgers can’t run, throw, and catch the ball himself.

ATLANTA

Falcons I really like the Dirty Birds and Dan Quinn. Matty Ice, Julio Jones, Freeman, and Coleman. They have the ability players to get back to the big dance. However, the Super Bowl Curse is real. Hopefully they are over the curse and can get back to winning again. That being said, just because the Curse is real, doesn't mean it will not give us relevant fantasy football play. I wish all the best for the Dan and Dirty Birds, but regardless of how they ďŹ nish in 2018, they will have Fantasy Football relevant players.

Chargers No team has been hit harder by injuries over the years than the Chargers in my opinion. However, all the big names look healthy going into 2018. The Chargers are improving, they have stability at QB, and they should be able to make a strong run for the West.

Dolphins I am being very generous here with the Dolphins. I think there is an outside chance they can end up with 1 or 2 wins. My good friend communist Joe tells me no, so I will take him at his word. Tannehill is back and healthy and he has showed flashes of play that remind me of Rodgers and other times he reminds me of Fitzpatrick. That being said they have the tools to win but can they win? We shall see in 2018.

NEW YORK

Giants The Giants always seem to be one player away from winning the Superbowl. Love him or hate him, Eli’s track record speaks for itself. I would rather have Eli than Peyton in his prime in the big game. With the addition of a real running back for the first time in Eli’s career could he be the final piece needed to take the Giants to the big dance?

49ers The 49ers might be the most hyped team in preseason right now. They do not deserve the hype. Jimmy G has not shown he can win meaningful games, Jerick McKinnon has not shown he deserves to start, and they only had 5 wins last year.

Buccaneers The Bucs don't know it yet, but this is a pre-rebuilding season. Winston suspended, losing Doug Martin in Free agency, and a disappointing season last year, all make for a terrible season this year. Going into season with a rookie RB, a suspended QB, and a wasted first round pick on a DT you really didn't need, is not the way to start off 2018.

Broncos Broncos still have too many unanswered questions at QB and RB. DeVontae Booker is really just not that great at RB and Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders can not catch the garbage being thrown to them. Their Defense is still elite, but with nothing going on offense I do not see them going far.

Cardinals David Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, and Sam Bradford should be able to win 80% of all games, but they will not. I imagine glass legs Bradford will be injured sooner or later leaving Mike Glennon and Josh Rosen. I am not sure if the Cardinals have a personnel problem or a Coach problem. What we all know of is that they have a winning problem. Till the Cardinals can show us more consistency they will never be anything

Chiefs Andy Reid is a winner. The Chiefs are winners against all the bad teams they should beat. The big question mark is can the Chiefs beat the elite competition. Once the Chiefs can start winning at the elite level they will move into the elite Circle. Until that time the Chiefs will never be anything more than wild card contenders.

Bengals Mixon is back and healthy, the Bengals drafted a Center and upgraded their Online, but unless a healthy Mixon is the second coming of Barry Sanders, I do not see the Bengals O-line being able to help this offense score the points it needs to score to win games. The Bengals Defense is nothing special and unless their offense is scoring 24+ points a game, I do not see them doing anything at all this season.

THE BENEFITS OF USING CHEAT SHEETS WHILE DRAFTING A cheat sheet is list of player rankings used by fantasy owners during a fantasy football draft. Cheat sheets can take one of these two different forms: They can either be an overall player rank cheat sheets or a series of position cheat sheets. Each type of cheat sheet will allow an owner to employ a different kind of draft strategy. Each type also has its own advantages. OVERALL CHEAT SHEETS The overall cheat sheet lists all players, not by their position, but their overall value. If you want to draft according to “best players available”, use one cheat sheet that has every player ranked according to their value accordingly. You can simply mark off players on your cheat sheets when they are drafted, then consequently draft the highest remaining players when your turn in a draft comes. Using only one cheat sheet has an advantage of efficiency. You don’t spend hours turning through many pages. Even if you have five cheat sheets to sift through and are also writing as you go, you will have trouble keeping up with the other aspects of your fantasy football draft. CHEAT SHEETS BY POSITION This gives fantasy football owners a chance to know which positions have most value during a draft. Owners tend to value a position over another and prefer to have the cheat sheet and other player rankings divided into positions. This may be advantageous, if for example you have a separate sheet for quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, field goal kickers and team defenses. Here you will likely mark players off of the lists as you go. You might notice that, on your running backs sheet, there is one player higher up the list that is remaining on board, while ten RBs ranked under him are going off board. You will know this is your next draft pick, because a highly valued runner is still up for grabs. PLAYER RANKINGS ON CHEAT SHEETS Some cheat sheets are better than others. Many casual fantasy football owners tear a cheat sheet out of fantasy football magazines. So with ours you can just print it out or make your own at www.cheatsheetwarroom.com

NEW YORK

Jets My Jets last season was not all a loss and this offseason we drafted a QB and picked up the best CB on the free agent market. We will win games, but still need to develop a team first with team winning chemistry. Hopefully, we get on the right path this year.

CLEVELAND

Browns I feel for every Brown fan that has ever lived. No fan has had more bad luck than a Browns fan. I do feel as though the team and Hue can turn the corner. Things are getting better and the draft picks have to start working out. I think there is a fair chance the Browns end up at at least .500 this year. Call me a dreamer, but anything can happen on any given Sunday!

TRIPLE J DRAFTING OUT OF THE #12 SPOT ON JUNE 9, 2018

In this draft, I was drafting out of the dreaded 12th spot. I think my first pick of Kareem Hunt is a no-brainer at the 12th spot. I received a potential top 5 RB especially with Alex Smith gone and the Chiefs having to be more dependent on the run game. He is too talented to not give me return on my Money at the 12th spot. On the turn, I selected Christian McCaffrey which I believe is another RB who has a chance to be a top 5 RB. With Johnny Stewart gone, and SuperCam supposedly to stop running, the sky’s the limit for Christian McCaffrey. By the time my next pick comes up, I have to get a stop gap WR 1. Larry Fitzgerald is the numero uno receiver on the cards and it will not matter what QB is throwing to him. He has 100 receptions in the last 3 seasons and I will expect the same. Larry will not have the 40 point games but he has a relatively safe floor. This league is a tight end premium league, where Tight Ends will get 1.5 per reception. In this particular format I am high on Kyle Rudolph and his new QB. Kirk Cousin makes bad tight ends look good (Niles Paul anyone?), so I am betting he will make a truly talented tight end, look amazing. However, my fear here is Rudolph gets injured a lot, so I followed up with a great flex backup tight end in Delanie Walker. My WR#2 pick, Michael Crabtree, can be a Boom or bust here. The ravens have not had a legit WR1 in years and Crabtree can play. Question is will Flacco and Crabtree connect. I need them too and if Crabtree can produce

top 30 WR numbers I got a steal. My next pick is hands down the best PPR QB in the league, Russell Wilson. He is ranked 1 on my cheat sheets, this guy can do it all on the actual field and for fantasy owners. Duke Johnson has no 3rd down competition and in a PPR format he is a great back up and flex play depending on the match-up. Kelvin Benjamin and Kenny Stills both can produce great numbers depending on their matchups. Spencer Ware is the Hunt handcuff,Powell and Blount are both boom or bust players week to week. Let us hope I play them the right weeks. Quincy Enunwa can be a fantasy dark horse. He was the Jets WR1 prior to injury and if he can repeat the preinjury numbers Quincy Enunwa will make setting lineups hard every week with decisions. I like having choices instead of plug and pray type plays. Last person of note drafted was Willie Snead. I like this kid, he can play, hopefully he gets his act together and can start producing again. In all fairness this is also a partial hedge bet against Crabtree. If Crabtree is not catching the rock from Flacco, someone has to be doing it. I am a Jet fan and always try to select the Jets DST, I stream DSTs weekly, I would never spend a 11th round pick on a DST. However, each player has their own style.

SCATYY AND TEAM MAGA DRAFTING OUT OF THE #4 SPOT ON JUNE 16, 2017

This year drafting out of the 4th spot I knew I was guaranteed a top RB or of course Antonio Brown. Well when my turn came I am not sure if it was being a Cowboys fan or my thoughts of Zeke being hungry after the raw deal he got last year. I think he is going to be 80% of the Boys offense and their line is back to full strength so Zeke it is .His volume is guaranteed. In the 2nd round with no other RBs that enticed me I had to roll with Kelce in TE important league 1.5ppr he would have been taken next. I was an Evans fan but I’m not a Winston fan. As you can see it forced Ertz to be taken 2nd round. 147

Call me crazy with my next 2 picks but I am taking Guice and Ronald Jones. Teams are throwing rookies out into the starting mix right away with lifespan of RBs nowadays you gotta get the most. Guice doesn’t have much competition and Jones come on lets be real he is competing with Barber and Sims who have done nothing in their careers. I like my chances of having a surefire RB1 and possibly 1 or 2 RB1s to go along with Zeke. My next 2 picks went to the wr position Goodwin had great chemistry with Jimmy G to end the year. Garcon is about ready to ride into the sunset. I have been bashed for taking Jordy “Great White Hype” Nelson well I am sorry he was a top 10 pick in ppr last year and the only reason he flat out sucked was well Who the hell is Hundley? Not many worse QBs out there than this guy. He now joins David Carr who I believe bounces back and has a great year. Jordy is a TD machine and plays opposite Amari “Cant cant score a TD “Cooper I call him Stone Hands. Carr doesn’t even look his way in the red zone. I followed up by the 1 man show in Seattle Russell Wilson and no matter what you think of him he is fantasy money. The next 2 rounds I got a little silly with the WR picks in case Jordy is done which he is NOT flops I went with back to back rookie WRS. Julio Jones is a bum and Ridley should finish with WR3 points which is what I expect in this round.Christina Kirk in my opinion should have a pretty good rookie year as well. Taking another RB CJ Anderson could turn into a pleasant surprise . I never liked him but who is there Artis Payne who the hell is he. Cam dumps a lot of passes to RBs and McCaffrey is more of WR he won’t see many carries or any goal line carries. Moving on as it got later a bit surprised to see Meredith fall off the map over an injury. He will be a beast and these later round picks is where champions are made. Goff was a pick just to have a good backup plan. Taking Denver D for obvious reasons Miller/Chubb was an easy choice since most of my starting lineup was set and you need a great defense to compete. Following up with Greg the Leg to complete my starting lineup which includes: Paul Richardson, Keke Coutee, Cole ,and wow I got him in the last round Enunwa comes back in a great situation. Jesse James as a 2nd TE was a decent pick. In my opinion if you play the streaming right he can score you points. I had him on a few teams last year and he had his weeks that helped out. As Champion of 1 of these leagues last year ultimately losing key players once the champions of champions started I look to take my team this year to the next level and win this 250k. BOBBY POTTS AND TEAM LIBERAL TEARS DRAFTING OUT OF THE #5 SPOT ON JUNE 24, 2018

My first draft of the season and it showed. I kinda poopoo myself here. I saw AB at 5 and I just pounced out of reflex. I probably would have been better served with any 1 of the next 4 backs. I love Kamara. He won me a title last year. I just don’t see him as workhorse. That being said, in hindsight, I should have went RB 1st 2 rounds. I think RBs have evolved back into the glory days of FF with the amount of passes they see now. I probably should have grabbed CMC here over McKinnon but health will probably determine that. I stand by my Robinson pick guy made Bortles look like a QB and Mitch takes a step forward this year with a go to reciever. I let the rules of this specific league TE 1 1/2 pt ppr get into my head and over drafted Jimmy Graham. I do think Jordan Reed has an uncharacteristically healthy year with Smith delivering the rock but im gambling on 2 guys that have been unhealthy and under productive over a 1/2 pt. I spent the rest of my draft trying to get a backfield with questionable health. Hyde and Burkhead diminished, Powell, ancient Frank Gore and lotto ticket James Connor. Moral of the story this upcoming season get your horses early this is not the year to go the 0 RB theory. Good luck.

JOHN TERRY AND AUNTIE J’S FPC DRAFTING OUT OF THE #3 SPOT ON JUNE 16, 2018 GENERAL STRATEGY - With FFPC scoring being ppr and TE premium as well as dual flex there are many ways to build a high scoring team. The focus will be to take position players who catch a lot of passes and wait on QB as that position seems very deep this year. We start 2 running backs, 2 wide receivers, 1 tight end and 2 flex positions. That is seven players and when we also factor in bye weeks, ideally, we want 10 players at those positions that are playable before we worry about anything else. DRAFT SLOT - We managed to draw the 3rd draft slot, I like it as I prefer a top 8 slot this season. PICK ONE - Gurley and Bell are off the board leaving us with David Johnson. In 2016 David Johnson put up 2100

combined yards, 20 TD’s, and 80 catches. Last year’s injury was a fluky one to his wrist and he was back to full health by January. He has stated his goal is 1000 rushing and another 1000 receiving this season and he is still in his prime with low mileage, sign us up please! PICK TWO - Ideally, we’d like a stud wr here to match with our stud RB. Mike Evans sticks out as the best wr left on the board. Not the greatest season last year with 71 for 1000 yards and 5 touchdowns in 15 games but the catches and touchdowns should pick up. This guy gets a ton of targets and a lot of them are inside the redzone, 10-12 touchdowns is a strong possibility. Let’s hope Jameis continues to improve. PICK THREE - Running backs have been flying off the board in this draft as seems typical this year. 14 already

gone by our 3rd pick here so give me Devonta Freeman who is #12 on my personal board and is another RB that racks up the receptions in addition to running behind a top 5 offensive line in Atlanta. PICK FOUR - No running backs that I love here and I see 4 tight ends I like so we’ll gamble on one of the tight

ends coming back to us in round 5. Alshon Jeffery is the pick here. In 2017 he was bit touchdown dependent and only had 57 catches but his catch rate was incredibly low at 47%. That rate can easily improve by 10% or so and I see no reason for the targets to DEC.rease so 70-1000 is a realistic projection.

150

TRIPLE J’S FANTASY FOOTBALL REPORT

PICK FIVE - We knew some of those tight ends would go and Engram and Graham were both selected

after our last pick. That’s ok as we like Greg Olsen better than those two anyway, let’s hope that foot injury doesn’t resurface. He has been remarkably consistent with Cam as his QB and should remain a top 5-6 option at the position. PICK SIX - The running back pool is drying up fast. Normally I would not ‘handcuff’ a player in this contest

but Freeman’s injuries combined with Tevin Coleman’s talent and this being the final year of his contract have us taking Tevin Coleman here who I’m a bit surprised is still on the board. The situation in Atlanta is a good one and Coleman can put up numbers without a Freeman injury, if Freeman does go down we are going to feel a lot better about this pick later. PICK SEVEN - It is still too early for us to think about quarterback here, I don’t like the running backs or

tight ends so we’ll go receiver. Case Keenum looked Decent in Minnesota last year and should improve the Denver offense who should continue to rely on Thomas and Sanders as the rest of the offense is still young. Emmanuel Sanders is the pick and he should still have some juice left at 31. PICK EIGHT - Cooper Kupp is still on the board, he flashed as a rookie and should continue to improve.

He’s our pick here. PICK NINE - We’ll pair Robert Woods with Kupp as we aren’t big believers in Brandin Cooks at his ADP.

Woods looked outstanding in this offense last year and seems to have turned the corner. PICK TEN - Ok we are about half way let’s see 3 running backs, 5 wide receivers, and a tight end. Still a lot

of Decent QB’s available and we could use running back and tight end depth. Giovani Bernard is our pick here. This guy is a solid talent, yes, his touches will go down with Mixon likely to improve but for added depth in the 10th round we’ll take it. PICK ELEVEN - We still only have one tight end and Cameron Brate sticks out as the best available on the board. Tampa Bay showed him the love with the new deal and he should continue to get his share of the targets. He is a bit TD dependent but OJ Howard is still developing and Brate was resigned for a reason so we’ll take Brate here. PICK TWELVE - The quarterbacks finally started flying off the board this round so we’ll play it safe and take ours here. Matt Ryan has a great line, 2 running backs that catch the ball, Julio, Ridley, Sanu and an improving TE in Hooper. He should put up solid numbers as a starter this year and late 12th round seems like a good value. PICK THIRTEEN - 13th round and the number one receiver on a team is still available?? Marqise Lee is our

pick, yes, they have a bunch of receivers and Fournette will be the centerpiece but Lee looked good last year and should be solid again. PICK FOURTEEN - Nothing jumping out here so we’ll take our defense. The Chargers were very solid last

year, they have a nice front four and added Derwin James to the secondary. They also play in a relatively weak division where they should be the favorite.

TRIPLE J’S FANTASY FOOTBALL REPORT

151

PICK FIFTEEN - Drew Brees likes to throw to his tight end and let’s face it, Fleener stunk last year. Ben

Watson may be ancient but he continues to be a solid receiving tight end. We could do much worse than having him as our 3rd tight end. PICK SIXTEEN - Since we waited until round 12 to take our QB, we’ll go ahead and take a backup. Derek Carr

should suffice. We are a little nervous he may take a step backwards as Gruden continues to make bizarre moves but as a backup he’ll do just fine. PICK SEVENTEEN - Looking at our roster so far, running back depth is a concern. Admittedly there isn’t much on the board that looks that helpful but let’s gamble on Jaylen Samuels. He is a well-rounded back that can be moved around and catches the ball. Should anything happen with Bell’s contract issues Samuels could carve out a role. We prefer him to Conner. If Bell is fine, Samuels will be an easy cut early in the season and we’ll be free to bid on whichever hot free agent running back emerges. We are looking for upside with these late gambles and he checks the boxes. PICK EIGHTEEN - Somebody has to take the Landry targets in Miami and it could easily be Amendola. He

provides more solid depth at WR and should be decent as a bye week will in if needed. PICK NINETEEN - We must take a kicker and would rather do so here than the next round since we know a bunch will be picked before it gets back to us. Why not take the superbowl champ’s kicker who again should have a high scoring offense. Jake Elliot is our 19th pick. PICK TWENTY - Running back still looks like where we need depth. Spencer Ware is a solid gamble. Expect

him to get a share of the carries now that he is back from injury. Hunt can’t play every down. If Hunt goes down we’ve seen that Ware is decent. FINAL ROSTER

QB – Matt Ryan, Derek Carr RB – David Johnson, Devonta Freeman, Tevin Coleman, Gio Bernard, Jaylen Samuels, Spencer Ware WR – Mike Evans, Alshon Jeffery, Emmanuel Sanders, Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, Marqise Lee, Danny Amendola TE – Greg Olsen, Cameron Brate, Ben Watson K – Jake Elliott Def – Chargers THOUGHTS – Our goal was to draft position players that get catches, wait on QB, and ensure solid depth at

the flex worthy positions. Our execution was solid but not spectacular, ideally, we’d like a little more running back depth but with the WR depth we were able to acquire we shouldn’t need to start more than two running backs. Our QB’s should be Decent despite waiting until rounds 12 and 16. We will be looking for that early season running back on the wire but otherwise we think we have a playoff contender here.

TODD HUNTER DRAFTING OUT OF THE #2 SPOT ON JUNE 9, 2018 THE OVERVIEW:

My plan was simple: start with a stud running back out of the two hole, then while everyone else grabbed running backs, I would load up on dependable receivers. And if there was no receiver I liked, I would just default to the best player available. Uh-oh. Maybe the plan wasn’t so simple after all. But hey, according to Robbie Burns (speed receiver out of the University of Glasgow), even the best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men gang aft a-gley. In other words, sh*t happens. Case in point: my FootballGuys Players Championship team, the Huggers, where it may turn out that having two plans was like having no plan at all. In other words: shipwreck. As bad as, say, the RMS Titanic? Only time will tell. ROUND 1:

Titanic: As jubilant crowds cheer from the docks on April 10, 1912, the Titanic sets sail from Southampton, England on her maiden voyage-- a perfect start to a much-anticipated journey. No expense had been spared. The Titanic (hey, titanic means colossal, right?) was the largest ship afloat and had been assembled by the best shipbuilders using the best materials and boasted the best captain and crew available. What could go wrong? Huggers: Le’Veon Bell is already off the board, so I select Todd Gurley, RB, Los Angeles Rams. Frankly, I would have taken Gurley first overall. He is the “gold standard” here. At 24 years old, he is the focal point of an improving offense, and has no obvious risks like contract squabbles, hold-outs or recent injury history. He is a dual threat with over 2,000 total yards and 19 touchdowns in 2017. He may not have as high a ceiling as Bell, but his floor is arguably higher and he is about as safe a bet as you can get. And while there may be a lot of mouths to feed in the receiving corps, there is no such trouble at running back. They will be feeding Gurley. A lot.

153

ROUND 2:

Titanic: The ship sailed without incident for almost four days, but on April 14, she received a series of warnings from other ships about drifting ice in the area of the Grand Banks near Newfoundland. Nevertheless, she operated at close to full speed ahead. But at 11:40 PM, the Titanic side-swiped an iceberg, caving in 5 watertight compartments. The ship’s lookout actually saw the collision coming, but they were unable to turn the huge ship in time. Sometimes, it seems, trouble is unavoidable. Huggers: With three picks left before my turn, there were two players I would have been happy to get. But sure enough, first dropped Mike Evans, then A.J. Green, and I was left staring at the iceberg. In trying to keep with my original plan, I started leafing through the receiver Rolodex. Tyreek Hill? He is a notorious up-and-down player who will have good numbers at the end of the season, but is unpredictable from week-to-week. He is a Best Ball guy, not head-to-head, and not really worthy of the second round. Doug Baldwin? Seattle beefed up its offensive line and drafted Rashaad Penny, perhaps making them a run-first offense. Adam Thielen? He has a new quarterback and competes with Stefon Diggs for targets. T.Y. Hilton? At this point, Andrew Luck was not even throwing. So what about a tight end? Two are already off the board, which leaves me looking at Zach Ertz. Tempting, but I think he will be sharing the ball more in Philly this year. He can wait. So running back? Shady McCoy and DeVonta Freeman are possibilities. But McCoy is old and on a bad team and the offensive coordinator who got the most out of Freeman was now running the show in San Francisco. Wait a minute. San Francisco. The 49ers just signed Jerick McKinnon to a big contract. The coach seems to love him. Why shouldn’t I? So I pull the trigger. ROUND 3:

Titanic: The ship starts to take on water forward and the stern begins to rise out of the water. People scramble for lifeboats, only to find that hubris and poor planning have combined to ensure that there are only about half as many lifeboats as necessary to hold the 2,224 passengers and crew. Huggers: The ship is sinking! Abandon plan! Abandon plan! I easily could have taken one of the receivers I passed on in round two, but instead I grab tight end Zach Ertz. Why? Because this is a 1.5 point per reception league for tight ends. And moreover, I’m panicking! Can’t you read?!? But really, the Ertz pick was not a bad one in and of itself. In fact, you could argue that I got him at a small discount. He tied for the third-most receptions by a tight end last year and is the clear-cut choice at the position after Gronkowski and Kelce. But he wasn’t part of the plan, and if we’re to learn nothing else from this exercise, it’s that plans are important. After 3 rounds of a draft in which I planned to go WR early and often, I have zero. ROUND 4:

Titanic: The ship had been designed with a series of 16 watertight compartments to stem flooding in the highly unlikely case the hull were ever breached. So the ship stayed afloat for hours. In fact, many people (“women and children first!”) were able to get aboard the lifeboats. And to restore some order and keep passengers calm, an 8-piece band played a selection of whimsical music, initially in the first-class lounge, then later out on DEC.k. There was real hope. And maybe help. The RMS Carpathia had heard the ship’s distress signals and was answering the call. Huggers: And who doesn’t need order restored? With my fourth pick, I finally take a receiver-- Demaryius Thomas. I think he is actually a bit undervalued this year, even though Case Keenum takes over in Denver. This is another low-risk, high-floor player who will see the majority of the targets for the Broncos. He has had at least 90 receptions and 1,000 yards in five of the last six years. This is a pretty good value at the end of the 4th round. Across the field from him, Emmanuel Sanders should draw just enough attention to keep defenses honest and Courtland Sutton and Daeshawn Hamilton are probably a year away. So we’re back on track! 154

TRIPLE J’S FANTASY FOOTBALL REPORT

ROUND 5: Titanic: Optimism soon turns to despair. The Carpathia was still a couple of hours away. And remember those

watertight compartments? Turns out the ship could only withstand the destruction of four. Five had been breached. The ship is sinking. Huggers: The wide receiver plan is now going under, as well. Watkins? Cooks? Crabtree? All have more questions than answers. Once again in fear of drowning, I reach for a life-line, yet another tight end, and take Evan Engram. He actually bucked the trend in 2017 by having a very solid year for a rookie tight end. And he has also slipped about half a round later in the draft than where he’s usually been selected this year. So bargain, right? Not so fast, my friend. If you go back and look at the splits, Engram was actually much more successful with Beckham out of the line-up in 2017. And that situation doesn’t seem likely to repeat this season. But hey, any life preserver will do. ROUNDS 6-20:

Titanic: At 2:20 AM on the 15th, the ship broke apart and foundered with well over one thousand people still aboard. Eventually, the Carpathia arrived and scooped 705 shivering survivors out of lifeboats. Amazingly, another ship, the SS Californian, which was the last ship to have been in contact with the Titanic before the collision, saw her distress flares. but failed to assist. Huggers: At this point, I am just trying to patch breaches in the hull as best as possible. I grab Devin Funchess in the 6th round (a couple rounds too early, probably) and DeShaun Watson in the 7th. This will probably be the only team I have all year with either of them. But desperate times call for desperate measures. Frankly, I am not enthralled with Funchess (as my WR2!!!) and while Watson certainly has upside, I am very squeamish taking a quarterback that early. The rest of the team is comprised of backup running backs who could benefit from injury elsewhere on the depth chart (Johnson, Brieda, Carson), “upside” receivers (Stills, Agholor, Coutee). and Danny Amendola in the 12th round. I thought about how to characterize that last one, but finally punted. SUMMARY:

All told, more than 1,500 people perished in the Titanic disaster. Capt. Edward Smith went down with the ship. Here’s hoping I don’t share that fate.

THE PROFESSOR DRAFTING OUT OF THE #4 SPOT ON JUNE 12, 2018 HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS ON MY DRAFT FOR “JURASSIC WASP WORLD” (FFPC FOOTBALLGUYS LEAGUE #10137: FIRST THOUGHTS: As soon as I saw that I had the fourth pick, I knew that I would have a crack at one of the elite running backs, so

that ruled out a 0 RB strategy for me. My overall plan for this draft position is to grab a stud RB, then an elite TE if available, then some good (second or third tier) WRs, to be chased by a sneaky value RB2 in the mid rounds. This strategy, according to my rough calculations, is what maximizes relative player value (e.g. player expected points output minus the mean for his position). (I learned this when teaching an evolutionary genetics theory known as the “Price Equation” to my students, which shows how an individual’s fitness relative to the average individual fitness (not absolute fitness) is what powers natural selection. Now I use fantasy football to teach this principle in my classes, a principle that good players know intuitively!) PICK:

1. So Elliott fell to me and so I mainly had to DEC.ide between him and Antonio Brown. Knowing that the Cowboys strengthened their already dominant O-line in the draft, and that their offense will run through Zeke more than ever this year, I had to go with World War Z.

2. Kelce fell to me, and I was happy to snag him in this TE-premium format. 3. Normally, I would start plucking WRs here, but I just couldn’t pass up Devonta Freeman to secure a pair of powerhouse RBs.

4. Now, I couldn’t wait on WRs any longer. I thought about Tate but went Alshon Jeffery here because of the huge upside of being a skill player on a Super Bowl team lead by the high-OCT.ane Wentz.

5. I liked how Brandin Cooks already appears to be a favorite target of Goff in early preseason training, according to reports. Plus, he has so far succeeded no matter where he is. Pinned him without regret.

6. I love the huge upside of DeShaun Watson, so I couldn’t pass him up here as one of the earliest QB picks. 156

TRIPLE J’S FANTASY FOOTBALL REPORT

7. Next, I wanted to solidify my RB group, because of the high attrition rate for RBs. Tarik Cohen finally has a creative coach and could explode in Chicago this year.

8. Aaron Jones is riskier (RB committee alert), but also boasts talentfueled upside in a high-powered Packers offense.

9. Here I sensed an acute fear of having a thin WR corps, so I was happy that Sterling Shepard, who frequently should be open across from Odell, fell to me.

10. Booker is currently in line to be the starter at the beginning of the

season, so I grabbed him as further RB insurance. In retrospect, I am not thrilled with this pick, because…well…so far he has not shown that he is any good!

11. Another questionable pick, because at the time I picked Eifert here, I hadn’t properly researched him, inwhich case I would have discovered that back was flaring up again. Now my own back flares up when I review this pick.

12. Next, I developed an appetite for some high-ceiling sleeper WRs. I like Paul Richardson in his new situation, so I gambled a bit here.

13. Calvin Ridley is even riskier as a rookie, but he has talent and has a great opportunity in AZ, where it looks like he will be a starter profiting from the attention that Larry Fitzgerald will get.

14. Couldn’t resist getting my QB2 here in Dak Prescott, who is seriously undervalued this year, in my opinion.

15. I like to pick off an elite kicker if possible about here, so I zip-lined to Zuerlein.

16. I was surprised/shaken by how fast D’s were going and emitted a loud brain fart here by picking up the NO defense.

17. Time to get some upside TE prospects! I think talented TE Jake Butt will start eventually in Denver, so I was happy to snap him up here.

18. Similarly, Vannett seems to be the TE to have in Seattle, so I rolled the dice on him here.

19. Into the dregs at this point. Sanu is a known quantity- low ceiling but high floor- so I grabbed him.

20. If Luck comes back, Ryan Grant could make some noise in Indy as a starter, so he is thereby anointed my Mr. Irrelevant.

Overall, I expect this team to contend for the playoffs, barring serious injury. My academic assessment: solid B effort TRIPLE J’S FANTASY FOOTBALL REPORT

DENNIS MARNEY AND TEAM IOWNUBITCHEZ DRAFTING OUT OF THE #2 SPOT ON JUNE 27, 2018

If there was ever a year for zero RB this is the year, just not out of the two spot. Which ever fantasy player picks right in top 4 picks will win their league 85% of the time. All the top 4 backs are equally deserving of the one pick, so there is a bit of dice rolling here. Drafting from the two spot is terrible , I personally think picks 1 and 2 are worst in a snake fantasy draft You have to make the perfect picks every time in the order because you have 20 picks in between and if someone , let’s say picks a TE with the pick right behind you in that respected round , you could lose out on every tight end with any value when your picking again. With my first pick at the 2 spot I had a lot of options , Zeke went first and that left a treasure chest . I knew it had to be a running back cause I wouldn’t pick again until end of round 2 when all workhorse backs for their respected offenses would be gone. I decided on Gurley over Bell because, 1. The offense is built around Gurley , 2. Bell has a plethora of weapons around him, 3. Gurley went over 2k yards from scrimmage last year leading the NFL , either way you couldn’t go wrong. After watching how the rest of round one and round two leading up to me shook out. I decided since the league was ppr and that I wasn’t going to get a top 5 receiver anyway , I thought of what back was left that I can get maximum production from both rushing and receiving to make up for some ppr points lost . That’s where I picked Christian McCaffrey, a.k.a White Jesus . I see him as someone who is only going to get better every year . This off season he really worked on building his body to have more of a work load carrying the ball between the tackles. My 3rd pick was a simple one , best receiver available and I was lucky to still have a chance at this WR 1. He would normally have been gone by now but a few new guys slipped into first 2 rounds and pushed him back

TRIPLE J’S FANTASY FOOTBALL REPORT

some (Saquan and McKinnon) , A.J green was still on the board and he was my pick . A can’t miss w.r 1 who always has good years and has played almost every game in his career with the exception of 2 years ago when he missed 6 games. getting a w.r one in the 3rd round who Avgs. 60-80 catches a year with over 1k yards and 8 tds was a steal. With my 4 pick coming in 3 more picks and then not picking again for 20 picks I wanted a guy that was gonna guarantee me 20+ points every week. Taking a flyer on Aaron Rodgers was my choice , he is poised to come back on a mission and he is basically there whole offense . I thought to myself this could be where I don’t pick a top tier q.b (top 5) and someone behind me sets off a firestorm and by my next pick I’m left with a tier 2 q.b which I didn’t want. He will average more points per week then anyone left on board and I wasn’t about to lose out on him. When I moved into my 5th and 6th picks I started to fill in my strategy of building the rest of my team position by position . I had in my opinion a top 3 RB1&RB2 , a top 5 w.r 1 and top 3 QB , so I naturally went for the tight end . I think the talent at t.e in the league at the highest levels all plays out the same. Gronkowski and Kelce Seperate themselves from the pack but then guys like Ertz , Olsen, Walker and Graham fill in the next tier of players . with 4 of those 6 guys gone and Walker and Graham left , I Decided on Walker cause Graham shit the bed on my 2 years in a row so I was done with him. With my next 2 picks I new I had to fill in my receiver spots. My thinking here was to try and grab two receivers who where or could possible be the main targets on their respective teams. Crabtree was my 6th pick . He proved last year that he can be a viable number 1 WR and with him going to the Ravens and Flacco being a good deep ball thrower I think he will put up big numbers. Next I took Robbie Anderson, although his off field issues could scare someone away , getting a guy who has the potential to light up the fantasy scoreboard every week with multiple big plays in the seventh round on top of being his team’s number 1 WR and main target I think was a steal. For the rest of the draft, I was just filling in my bench and depth. I have high hopes for Calvin Ridley and think he has a change to finish some weeks in top 10 WR numbers.”

AFC NORTH 2018 RB RANKINGS The AFC 2018 standings feature Bell at the top as he is easily amongst the top running backs in AFC North, and some say he is the best in the entire league. 1. LE’VEON BELL His year contract the Pittsburgh Steelers has proved to make them a better offense. Bell has a natural but deadly method of slowing down at the perfect moment for a block and then accelerating again. His style is like that of a Cobra, amazing to watch him play. 2. CARLOS HYDE The Cleveland Browns signed on Hyde in a multi-year contract. I don’t have high expectations but higher than the rest of these running backs. I would never waste a draft pick on this guy unless it was in 10th round plus. 3. JOE MIXON Mixon is to be the bell cow, there is a lot of promise here and if you can snatch him in the 5th round he could turn out RB1 numbers some weeks. 4. NICK CHUBB When Hyde was signed as a free agent for the Browns, they had also drafted Chubb in the second round, so I am not sure where and when he will play, but if he earns it, Hyde could easily be released 5. ALEX COLLINS After having limited opportunities in Seattle, when he was a rookie in the previous season, Collins had a breakout with the Baltimore Ravens. Collins has such a size the he can successfully run between the tackles and the athleticism to break into a long run. FIVE MORE HONORABLE MENTIONS 6. DUKE JOHNSON 7. GIOVANI BERNARD 8. JAVORIUS ALLEN 9. JAMES CONNER 10. KENNETH DIXON

AFC SOUTH 2018 RB RANKINGS Leonard Fournette did not take long to prove that the Jacksonville Jaguars were on the right track to take him fourth overall in 2017. Fournette is the engine that moves the Jaguars forward. 1. LEONARD FOURNETTE Fournette is a beast with the ability to score a TD on any given run on any given Sunday. That being said, I would love to see him pick up his blocking and receiving game. However, hands down he is the best RB in the AFC South. 2. DION LEWIS Lewis never reached his full potential on the Patriots. Properly used by the Titans he can be a post 5th round steal with RB1 upside. It remains to been seen if he can be a three down back in the NFL. 3. DERRICK HENRY Henry is on the cusp to be an NFL superstar. If he can turn his game into a three down back, rush and receive for a thousand yards he can become gridiron legend. 4. LAMAR MILLER Lamar went from a star in Miami to trash for the Texans. Hopefully this season he can turn it around otherwise he isn’t worth a spot on your fantasy football roster. 5. MARLON MACK The Indianapolis Colts don’t have a running back on the roster besides Mack. We don’t know who their QB is going to be or if Luck will come back at the top of his game. Let us just take a leap and say with Frank Gore gone, Marlon Mack will get those carries with his rookie year carries and now we have a borderline RB2. SOME HONORABLE MENTIONS 6. D’ONTA FOREMAN – Could be the Texans starter by the first game of the season. 7. T.J. YELDON 8. CHRISTINE MICHAEL 9. ALFRED BLUE 10. NYHEIM HINES

AFC EAST 2018 RB RANKINGS Are you curious to find out who made it to the AFC East 2018 standings? The AFC East is by far the weakest group of RBs in the NFL but there are some fantasy points to be had, so grab them but not too early. You’ve come to the right place! 1. LE SEAN MCCOY The AFC 2018 standings feature Le Sean McCoy at the top of the list who hasn’t even reached his 30th birthday and has completed this 9th season in the NFL with the 4th most rushing yards of the league. He has also been in the top 10 rankings four times with respect to carries and five times with respect to rushing yards. In this year’s rankings, McCoy has ranked 5th in rushing attempts, 4th in rushing touchdowns, 3rd in rushing yards and 7th in total touchdowns. Other than this, he ranked 5th in scrimmage and 7th in the all-purpose yards. Take note crazy Ex-girlfriend flinging some wild accusations, Goodell likes that ban stick. 2. ISAIAH CROWELL The “Crow” is a 3down back that the Jets desperately need. Matt Forte retired and Bilal Powell just never seemed to get 3 down work. However, with a line that was better than the Browns and a possible rookie QB, Cromwell could get a lot work and reps. 3. SONY MICHEL The New England Patriots reached when they drafted Sony but the Pats know their business. My only concern here is the pats rotate RBs like hot dogs over the open flame. 4. JAMES WHITE White is again among the most versatile running backs of the division, with the most ‘clutch’ backs. He has managed to secure 14 touchdowns, from which 12 were rushing touchdowns in his four NFL seasons. With respect to the last two playoffs, he had 8 touchdowns from which 3 were rushing touchdowns. One of these was in last year’s Super Bowl and three were seen in the 2nd half comeback by the Patriots. 5.KENYAN DRAKE Jay Ajayi is gone and all that is left is Drake and Gore, plus a rookie Ballage I have high hopes for, Drake finished the season strong in meaningless games, can he keep that play on track? FIVE MORE HONORABLE MENTIONS 6. REX BURKHEAD 7. FRANK GORE 8. BILAL POWELL 9. CHRIS IVORY 10. KALLEN BALLAGE

TRIPLE J’S FANTASY FOOTBALL REPORT

AFC WEST 2018 RB RANKINGS Kareem Hunt shined last season by rushing with 148 yards and an impressive touchdown. He also caught five passes for his 98 yards and brought two touchdowns for Week 1. From here onwards he finished with 1,327 of rushing yards, 4.88 in yards per carry and 11 total touchdowns. 1. KAREEM HUNT Hunt beat teams all day. The kid has the potential to be the next great fantasy football RB, we just have to hope the chiefs use him right. With their 2nd year QB, I hope they will be running the ball a lot more and hunt will get the benefit. 2. MELVIN GORDON This hasn’t been the smoothest transition into NFL, but Gordon finally shone in 2017. His performance increased in each of his three seasons culminating to his first 1,000-yard season in NFL. He is known as a slasher with big play ability. Where there is a hole, he pushes through it with speed. He has managed to rank 26th in rushing attempts. 3. MARSHAWN LYNCH Lynch is a big, bruising running back that does not miss any opportunity to run through defenders. He led the league in rushing touchdowns in 2013 and 2014. Just a year later, he was traded into his hometown to the Oakland Raiders. His first season at home was like a 32-year-old battering ram for a running back that hadn’t played in just over a year. He doesn’t have an explosiveness or big play ability, but can grind our three or four yards in every carry. He now ranks at the fourth position in rushing attempts and rushing yards, second position in rushing touchdowns, and fifth in total touchdowns. 4. CHARCANDRICK WEST West has spent his entire four-year NFL career with The Chiefs after signing with them as the undrafted free agent in 2014. He has been cut and signed to the practice squad and then signed a three-year contract extension with the Chiefs in his career. In 2015, he had two perfect games after Jamaal Charles had suffered a season-ending injury. Then he went on to lose carries to Ware and came back as the backup in Kansas City. He is a very good runner and receiver with enough explosiveness to break off the big plays. 5. DEVONTAE BOOKER When the Denver Broncos let C.J. Anderson loose in April, Booker became a front runner for the starting role. He was selected in the fourth round in the 2016 draft. Keep an eye on Royce Freeman to steal this job. SOME HONORABLE MENTIONS 6. ROYCE FREEMAN 7. DOUG MARTIN 8. JALEN RICHARD 9. AUSTIN EKELER 10. ANTHONY SHERMAN

NFC NORTH 2018 RB RANKINGS Jordan Howard is the RB to beat in the NFC North. Teamed up with Mitchell Trubisky they are entering the 2018 as the newest RB/QB pair in the NFC North with the most upside. 1. JORDAN HOWARD Howard has a cumulative of 100 yards rushed and in the five times he did so, he topped with 1100 yards in each of his two seasons of NFL. This is so because he has the athleticism to catch in the backfield and the size and strength to run in between tackles. 2. DALVIN COOK A contender for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award last season was Dalvin Cook. He may have actually won if it wasn’t for his ACL which tore in Week 4. Cook is a three down back but can he stand up to the rigors of NFL play? 3. LAGARRETTE BLOUNT Blount has actually been part of the Super Bowl team that has been winning for the last two seasons. The Detroit Lions signed Blount probably because they needed a proven back who can score touchdowns. I think there is a chance the rocket scientist uses Blount much like the Pats did 2 seasons ago which in turn could make him a surprise value for fantasy purposes. 4. TARIK COHEN Tarik Cohen is my favorite back out of this batch. He is very talented and a great 3rd down back which gives him tremendous upside for PPR purposes. He currently loses to Howard on the first two downs and goal line carries, so that is why he is not higher on my list. 5. AARON JONES – SUSPENDED TWO GAMES The Green Bay Packers have been looking for a primary running back for many years now and the search continues. Jones is the best runner on the Packers, but with his suspension and drug use one has to wonder if he will ever be NFL star. HONORABLE MENTIONS 6. LATAVIUS MURRAY 7. THEO RIDDICK 8. JAMAAL WILLIAMS 9. AMEER ABDULLAH 10. AARON RIPKOWSKI

TRIPLE J’S FANTASY FOOTBALL REPORT

NFC SOUTH 2018 RB RANKINGS Devonta Freeman has managed to become one of the most dangerous running backs in the NFL. He is known to be dynamic as both, a runner and a receiver in the Atlanta Falcons. There aren’t many running backs that are as good as him in any one area of the game, let alone both. 1. DEVONTA FREEMAN Freeman managed to miss two games which cost him a third-straight 1,000-yard of rushing in a season. He is undersized and also has an impatient running style that has lead to big hits. These hits have resulted in the pair of concussions which caused him to miss three games in his career. He ranks 23rd with respect to rushing attempts, 25th position in rushing yards, 18th position in rushing touchdowns, 12th position in yards per rush attempt and an 18th position in yards per rush. 2. ALVIN KAMARA The New Orleans Saints drafted Kamara in a third round despite having Mark Ingram and Adrian Peterson on the roster. Kamara then quickly showed that he is the best in the bunch. He spent the season as backup, but still brought over 1,500 total yards in scrimmage and a league-high of 6.1 yards per carry. He has brilliant speed, and is very difficult to tackle because of his impeccable balance. When defenders get to him, he always finds a way to escape. 3. MARK INGRAM Despite splitting time with Kamara and Peterson in the first couple weeks, he has posted careerhighs in carries, rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, receptions, receiving yards and yards from scrimmage. He is a well-built running back with an ability to run between tackles and catch vital passes. He is suspended for the first four games, so follow up on that before drafting. 4. TEVIN COLEMAN Freeman took off as the starter for The Falcons. Coleman has managed to be a very good No. 2. Coleman is much bigger than Freeman, but completely capable of playing any down and in any situation. He has a similar skill set as Freeman and possibly could be a primary ball carrier for any among the majority of teams in the league. 5. CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY McCaffrey’s versatility and ability to shift to multi-roles in the offense put him at the eighth position overall in the 2017 draft with the Carolina Panthers. He has been targeted nearly as much in the passing game as he has in carries. McCaffrey has still a lot to prove in a running back career, but his very ability to catch the ball out in the backfield should cause the Panthers to be very excited about his future. NFC EAST 2018 RB RANKINGS The title for best running back in the NFC East has easily been earned by Ezekiel Elliott. There are a few rookies however who could stir up a debate by the end of this season. 1. EZEKIEL ELLIOT Our list’s top running back was a will be a huge part of the Dallas Cowboys in 2018. He had the most rushing yards, carries and rushing yards per game when he was a rookie. I am drafting him first every time I get the one spot. 2. SAQUON BARKLEY Barkley was the no.2 pick in the 2018 draft by the New York Giants. The no.1 pick was Eli Manning but there must be a reason for why Barkley was chosen. According to them, he was the best player available and was exactly what the team lacked. The team needed someone who can rush a thousand yards like Ahmad Bradshaw in 2012. The Giants have been shuffling around players just to fill his shoes, and Barkley according to them is up to the task. 3. JONATHAN STEWART Speaking of the Giants, Stewart was signed as their anemic offense. Stewart is much larger than Barkley and also more physical. He will complement the latter by running short yards and acting as a between-the-tackles grinder. Previously, Stewart faced some injuries when he had to leave the Panthers. Since then he has been able to rank 7th in rushing attempts and 8th in rushing touchdowns and rushing yards. 4. DERRIUS GUICE Guice has been believed to be a first round pick of the draft as he has the power, physicality and speed that could make a huge impact. The only problem he faces in his career is that he is known to have an attitude which can sometimes make him look immature. If these rumors are true, then Washington may have a problem at their hands. If Guice changes THESE MINOR CHARACTER PROBLEMS HOWEVER, IS WHERE THINGS MAY GET INTERESTING. 5. JAY AJAYI Acquired by the Philadelphia Eagles, Ajayi is predicted to bring some juice to their game in terms of running. He is known to make big plays but also sometimes causes negative plays when he goes for the home run. MORE HONORABLE MENTIONS 6. DARREN SPROLES 7. CHRIS THOMPSON 8. COREY CLEMENT 9. ROB KELLEY 10. ROD SMITH

TRIPLE J’S FANTASY FOOTBALL REPORT

NFC WEST 2018 RB RANKINGS The Los Angeles Rams were criticized for drafting Todd Gurley 10th in a 2015 draft. This running back position was quickly losing its value. It was seen as the position that can be found in the middle rounds of a draft while others cannot. Todd Gurley then had a roller coaster ride in his first three seasons in NFL. It was all good, but his first and third seasons were very good whereas the second was only good. 1. TODD GURLEY Gurley has proven to be a game-changing running back. He has rushed for just over 1,100 yards and has 10 rushing touchdowns. He has also had some success as a receiver. He has also managed to rank 21st position in rushing attempts, 23rd position in rushing yards, 19th position in rushing touchdowns and 21st position in yards per touch. 2. DAVID JOHNSON Johnson had entered the 2015 draft as the sleeper pick. He is a stocky running back with immense power, speed and versatility. He has the ability to play any down and in any situation. He shone in the second season with a massive 1,239 of rushing yards, 16 rushing touchdowns, 879 of receiving yards and four of receiving touchdowns. When his stats are added up, he had managed a league-high 2,118 yards from his scrimmage and 20 rushing and receiving touchdowns together. 3. JERICK MCKINNON Mckinnon is a brilliant athlete that filled in for Adrian Peterson in several occasions with a range of results. He has steadily improved in results which lead to his best season for the NFL in 2017. He had a career-high in both rushing and receiving yards and surprisingly enough in total touchdowns too. Now he will be a starter for the San Francisco 49ers this season is he worth a second-round pick? I do not think so, but that is where he is being drafted. 4. RASHAAD PENNY The Hawks have not had a good running back since Lynch left, injuries have plagued them and no one has put together a complete season worthy of note. However, Penny can change all that and if the Hawks get a great running game going they are immediately in super bowl talks. 5. MATT BREIDA When the 49ers signed Breida as an undrafted free agent in the last offseason, there was very little known about or expected of him. He then swiftly climbed the depth chart and spent 2017 as a backup to Carlos Hyde. Breida then went on to finish the season with 465 of rushing yards, 180 of receiving yards and three total touchdowns. Breida is quite similar to McKinnon because he is undersized for his consistent tough runs, but can catch the ball and make big plays out of nothing. MORE HONORABLE MENTIONS 1.KYLE JUSZCZYK

TOP ROOKIES FOR 2018 FANTASY FOOTBALL Now that the 2018 draft is finished and we know which teams drafted which players we can try to figure out which rookies will have fantasy relevance this season. While no one can be sure about this, some rookies have landed on teams when they have a shot to prove themselves right away. Here is a list of the top 10 rookies; 1. SAQUON BARKLEY Many fans of the New York Giants were excited about Barkley being picked by the Giants, a running game finally. Barkley will immediately step in as the No.1 running back for the New York Giants, as he possesses the required skill set to be a 3 down back. In every format Barkley is going as a top 10 back. 2. RASHAAD PENNY The Seattle Seahawks had a tough time to keep healthy running backs on their roster last year. This is why they drafted Penny. He will receive RB1 reps in training camp which could give him the opportunity to be No.1. for Seattle when the season starts. 3. DERRIUS GUICE The Guice is loose. He has the natural skill and talent to surpass Samaje Perine on the depth chart for the RB1 spot. Alex Smith knows how to use his RBs and there is potential for a lot of opportunities for Guice. 4. NICK CHUBB Chubb has the potential to become a solid fantast RB. The Cleveland Brown’s backfield is a little crowded at the moment with Hyde and Duke, so unless someone is injured, he will have to actually prove himself in order to earn first team reps. 5. ROYCE FREEMAN Devontae Booker is currently the No.1 RB for the Denver Broncos. The numbers that were put up by Booker shouldn’t be too hard for Freeman to surpass if he is as productive in the NFL as he was in Oregon. 6. MICHAEL GALLUP Dez Bryant is gone and Jason Witten has retired. Allen Hurns was signed and Gallup was drafted. Now that Gallup has been drafted, he seems to fill the role of a pass catcher and the Cowboys are actually talking him up. Gallup should serve well for a WR3 in fantasy with WR 2 upside. 7. CALVIN RIDLEY The Atlanta Falcons needed a pass catcher who doesn’t get injured every other game. Julio Jones has not had round one production lately and seems to not be playing to his potential whether due to injuries or other reason. This is where Ridley can step up and bring some WR2 numbers to Dirty Birds. 8. D.J MOORE Kelvin Benjamin is long gone and Superman needs to throw to someone. Moore is the perfect example of drafting for need. Only person standing in Moore’s way of being the WR1 is Devin Funchess HONORABLE MENTIONS 9. BAKER MAYFIELD – Quarterback for the Cleveland Browns 10. HAYDEN HURST - Tight End for the Baltimore Ravens

FANTASY FOOTBALL PLAYERS CHANGING TEAMS IN 2018 In each of the NFL’s 32 franchises, there is a different method of player evaluation. Some teams avoid targeting expensive veterans and build through the draft, while others have an aggressive free agency. Other than these competitive ideals, the salary cap is a usual equalizer which assures a fair amount of turnover each season. The following is a list of top players who landed themselves in new teams.

QUARTER BACKS KIRK COUSINS The full-time starter in Washington, Cousins is moving onto Minnesota for the new season. It is being said that he will meet a better cast there, to meet his full potential. He may now be in the top-10 fantasy signal callers once again for an excellent value. ALEX SMITH In 2017, Smith put up the best numbers for Kansas City. He has moved forward to Washington with Partick Mahomes replacing him in KC. HONORABLE MENTION SAM BRADFORD moving to Arizona

RUNNING BACKS JERICK MCKINNON In a $30 million deal, McKinnon has moved to San Francisco, and is the second highest paid running back. I see BUST written all over this. C.J ANDERSON Replacing Jonathan Stewart in the Carolina Panthers, Anderson is far more effective in passing and a better short-yardage runner. This could lead him to play a far more significant role for the Panthers than what Anderson did. HONORABLE MENTIONS 1. LEGARRETTE BLOUNT moving to Detroit 2. JONATHAN STEWART moving to the New York Giants

WIDE RECEIVERS ALLEN ROBINSON With a $42 million contract, Robinson will be seen moving in with The Bears. BRANDIN COOKS This the 2nd offseason where Cooks has been traded for a first-round pick. He will be moving to The Los Angeles Rams. HONORABLE MENTIONS 1. PAUL RICHARDSON MOVING TO WASHINGTON 2. ALLEN HURNS MOVING TO DALLAS

TIGHT ENDS JIMMY GRAHAMS Graham will be moving to the Green Bay Packers with quarterback Aaron Rodgers who is more likely to spread the ball around. He still stands firm amongst the top-10 fantasy tight ends. TREY BURTON No longer playing in the shadow of Zach Ertz, Burton can play full-time for Chicago’s versatile offensive. Burton only managed 5 touchdowns last season, and still is a solid target for drafts in the elite fantasy tight ends. HONORABLE MENTIONS BEN WATSON MOVING TO NEW ORLEANS

CONCLUSION The information you just read is put together for some of the most competitive high stakes fantasy football leagues in the world. If this information can be used in these leagues, I guarantee it will make you a superstar in your local league. The biggest mistake I find most people make is treating Fantasy Football as if it is the NFL, a football game itself. I.e. Some players play great football but don’t play good fantasy football, Mohamed Sanu. Other players play horrible football but play great fantasy football games, i.e Torrey Smith. Step away from NFL until September 6, 2018 and focus solely on Fantasy Football. First and foremost, check out www.triplejsfantasyfootballreport.com weekly to see the best in Fantasy Football news updates, get yourself a subscription at Fantasypros one of best Fantasy Football Tools in the business. Use Google news or Feedly, and track fantasy football news. The next question you have is how do I draft, do I go Zero RB, do, I take RB/WR. I am telling you draft with common sense. If the majority of the people in front of you are RB heavy take a WR. If they are WR heavy take a RB. Go against the flow. I have read numerous reports that certain teams will be tanking their seasons this year, be it the the Jets or Browns. I am going to tell you look to those teams for Fantasy Football Surprises. No athlete at the NFL level ever wants to lose a game. I never wanted to lose a game in my life and I only played through high school. No player or head coach will intentionally tank a season, so don’t think about it when drafting. Each of those teams will score points every week and their stars can be drafted late. I also wanted to give a shout out to all the contributors, Eric Balkman, and my own personal High Stakes group that tortured me and helped me with the Guide and in no particular order: Scott “Scatty” Bolton, James “Nemo” Kowalski, Mike “Draft in June” Kowalski, Dennis “2x Champ” Marney, Todd “Triple J never beat me” Salvo, Bobby “New Champ” Potts, Brian “Sarge” Dadon, and Mike “The Removed Commish” Zang. These guys make Fantasy Football twice as fun! The last item I wanted to mention is that I am not kidding about emailing me, I want to talk and help anyone who purchased the magazine. Do not send us links we are not going to open, but email us your questions about trades and this years drafts or things you would like to see in the magazine in 2019 at triplejsfantasyfootballreport@gmail.com. Thank you and Enjoy!”
