MENTZ - St. Roch Catholic Church in Mentz deserves the short seven mile drive. The church has been serving the community of Mentz since 1858. A beautiful sight to behold, St. Roch Catholic Church is an active parish that holds Mass Saturday at 4 p.m., Sunday at 10:30 a.m., Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and Friday at 8 a.m. Mentz is a rural community in Colorado County, originally settled by German immigrants who named the settlement after their former homeland in Germany.

WEIMAR - Weimar’s picturesque downtown bustles with businesses, shops, great eateries, antique shops and a tavern where locals play dominoes and German card games. Whistling Duck Vineywards and Winery offers award-winning wines, delicious appetizers and meal selections, and live music every Saturday. You’ll find them at 1211 County Road 273.

FAYETTEVILLE - Some cyclists enjoy the rolling hills of Fayetteville’s countryside, pedaling past fields of grazing cattle, regal live oaks, and historic homes. Then there are cyclists that want to take a more adventurous approach, choosing gravel routes with water crossings and craggy challenges. The Rock ‘n Road 100 cycling challenge ticks both those boxes with their one-of-a-kind event that gives riders a choice between an epic gravel route or an amazing road ride that start and finish in downtown Fayetteville. The event is held every November. Another cycling event with a long history in Fayetteville is the Good Old Summertime Classic, always the first Sunday in June.

SHERIDAN - Although there are many great reasons to travel 27 minutes south to Sheridan, Splashway Waterpark and Campground is a popular destination that you won’t want to miss.
