MERAKI
Creative Centre Area : 1 Acre
This project Creative center is a part of an Institutional campus having various academics streams such as Architecture, Fine arts, Graphic Design, Product Design etc. The Project aims to design a multifunctional building that should be designed to inspire creativity. A creative space is not ‘creative ’because of how it looks but by how it inspires. It is about creating a space where people from various disciplines can connect, discuss, and work together. It is a place where people can see and be seen on the activities they do to inspire one another. The purpose of Creative Centre is to bring together diverse skills and ideas in an environment that creates innovative products. Meraki refers to doing tasks with soul, creativity and love. Used by Greeks to describe scenarios when a person has really put a part of themselves into something. So this space that surrounds one with inspiring resources & provide a platform for experimentation, exploration, collaboration and presentation seemed apt to be named meraki. 6-7 Creative Centre

SECTION AA’
SECTION BB’ THE STAIRS- Essence of Meraki Public spaces should be generous, provide places for conversations, and be visible to those using the building and passing by them and that is exactly what the central stairs of meraki does. With two different rows of treads, one is of regular riser 0.15 mm that is used for vertical transition. The second row of stairs is varied risers ranging from 0.3mm - 0.6mm. This acts as a recreational as well as transition space where the users can sit, discuss, think, design and develop ideas making the most of the natural sunlight and pleasant view .

BRUTALIST ARCHITECTURE Wall -Textured Concrete
Roof- Mild Steel Metal Sheets
Also known as Brutalism, it is a style that emerged in the 1950s. The main emphasis is on Rough surfaces, Massive forms that create a sense of “blocky appearance“ in terms of weight, scale & Unusual shapes where parts of the building are differentiated for dramatic effect. This particular style of architecture has been implemented in all aspects of the designing process. The floor plate is one single rigid geometric form . Simple Exposed Concrete is used for the facade providing an increased utilitarian feel.
Algorithimic Origami is used for the roofs, giving it an imposing and impressionable image. The subtle, Aluminium Window Frames monochromatic colour palette and lack of ornamentation are intentional as they do not take the focus away .
EAST ELEVATION
SOUTH ELEVATION
DISPLAY AREA Located on the western side of the site, the Area is shaded at all times throughout the day due to the massing of the building. Covering an area of 115 square metres, the court has a curvilinear pathway connecting as a loop to the only public entrance from within the building. The service entry for the area can be accesssed from the car parking as and when required. At the centre of the court is a Flowering tree which adds a much needed pop of colour to the otherwise monochromatic Meraki. 12-13 Creative Centre
HYGGE
(heu-gah) 2BHK Interior Design Area : 136 sq. m
Shaping the interior spaces of any built form is indispensable. The quality of life in such spaces is highly improved by simple design interventions. More often than not, houses are seen as an extension of self-image and identity. So shaping such spaces has become arole of an architect. The Breif was to Develop an interior design scheme for a 2 Bedroom apartment unit which responds to the user’s current lifestyle and cultural needs as well as reflects their interests. As Understanding relationship between function and type of finish is essential to bring a unique sense of feeling it was encouraged to be experimented. Each space within a house is used to fulfil different human needs and the type of finish has to aid in carrying out the function and maintenance of that space. Hygge is a Norwegian word for a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment and this design is an amalgamation of all that . 14-15 Interior Design
