Site Analysis ddddddddddddddddd

Site Analysis (Action)

Action graph demonstrates the amount of people doing different actions in the concrete lawn during different times in a day. The four main activities which include eating, traveling, socializing and trading are represented in Blue, red yellow adn green respectively. We can find out that the frequency of people doing a specific action varies in different time. For instance, during 6 a.m. there is only a few people is walking through concrete lawn because the morning classes have not started; while 12 p.m. is the most busy time as every activity has reach its maximum quantities of participants.

Model (Spatial composition)

Inspiration:

I w a s i n s p i r e d b y t h e H o g w a r t s Stairways (The Grand Stairway in Harry Pot ter) while i was doing this spatial composition model. I was always impressed b y t h i s m a g i c a l s ta i r w ay b e c a u s e o f its elegant fluctuation as well as its suspention which violates the principle of Physics. Therefore, i create a stair like model which shows the quality of this majestic staircase.

Assemblage

College

Assemblage (Occupy) Inspiration: Occupy is defined as taking control of a place or location. I tried to present to idea of occupation by placing the spatial composition model onto the river landform. To further the interpretation, I duplicated the spatial composition model and place it underneath the

College Spatial-Temporal Narrative (Debate) Domination, Development, Destruction... Men occupy. Population, Prejuice, Polution... Men occupy. As the most intelligent species in this world, We set the rules. So resourceful, so righteous, yet so ruthless... Now, stop, and think What is our original intention? To enhance the nature, or to debate it...

Superimposition College

The Site Analysis pl an, the

Assemblage plan and the spatialTemporal Narrative were used to create this final superimposition college. I set the narrative college as the background to represent the base idea of this work. I then place the Assemblage plan on top of it to imply the theme "occupy", as well as to lead all the pieces into the final project. Finally, i layout the site analysis plan as a grid, assisting readers to explore the assemblage plan.

Final

Project

Plan 1:400

This final project is a different presentation of the Theme - reflection. Material: Steel Location: Concrete Lawn

Precedent

Serpentine Gallery Pavillion (London)

Le Sonate des Spectres (Gernmany)

The inspiration from these two architectures significantly influence the final execution of my project. I decide to use Glasses as the approach to present the theme - reflection. These precedents remind me that there is a great interaction between people and mirrors.
