Janae Fontaine 5th Season | Troy, 2016 | Elba, Ala.

Janae Fontaine enters her fifth season as the Director of Basketball Operations in 2020-21 . A Troy graduate, Fontaine served as a special education teacher, basketball and volleyball coach at Carroll High School in Ozark, Ala .

Fontaine played collegiate basketball at Enterprise State Community College before serving as the team’s manager . After completing her associate degree at ESCC, she joined the Troy women’s basketball staff as a manager .

Fontaine graduated from Troy cum laude with a degree in education in 2016 . Fontaine, formerly Janae Carnley, is married to Doug Fontaine of Panama City, Fla . and the couple has one son, Trace .

Cherise Crisman 24th Season | Troy, 1994 | St. Cloud, Fla.

AthletiC trainer

Cherise Crisman enters her 24th year at Troy in 2020-21 . A certified athletic trainer, Crisman is entering her 17th season with the women’s basketball program .

During her time at Troy, Crisman has also worked with the volleyball, soccer and softball programs . She has also taught in the athletic training curriculum during her entire 23 years .

Prior to coming to Troy in 1998, Crisman was the head athletic trainer at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Ala ., for two years .

Crisman earned her master’s degree from Auburn in 1997 and worked on Auburn’s athletic training staff while pursuing her degree . During that time, she worked with the Tigers’ women’s basketball and track and field programs .

Crisman graduated from Troy in 1994 with a degree in athletic training .

Shannon Lemons

Strength & Conditioning

10th Season | Alabama, 2008 | Jasper, Ala.

Shannon Lemons joined the Troy staff as an assistant strength and conditioning coach in Aug . 2011 and is entering her 10th season working with the women’s basketball staff in 2020-21 . Lemons came to Troy after serving as a graduate assistant at Alabama for two years .

Lemons is certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association and USA weight lifting certified .

Kelly Shipp

DireCtor of CommuniCations 2nd Season | NW Missouri State, 2015 | Underwood, Iowa

Kelly Shipp enters his second year as Director of Athletics Communications at Troy University .

He serves as the primary media relations contact for women’s basketball and men’s & women’s tennis and the secondary contact for football .

Shipp spent one academic year (2018-19) at The Summit League in Sioux Falls, S .D . There, he worked with men’s soccer, women’s basketball, men’s and women’s swimming and diving and softball while serving as the League’s social media director and graphic designer .

Prior to working at The Summit League, Shipp spent one year at the University of Florida as an athletics communications intern . While working with the Gators, Shipp was the primary media contact for men’s tennis while assisting with football, men’s and women’s basketball and lacrosse .

Preceding his time in Gainesville, Shipp spent two years as a graduate assistant at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, S .D ., where he worked with volleyball, women’s basketball, baseball and men’s golf . He also assisted with the 2016 NCAA D2 men’s basketball national champions . Prior to working as a GA, he spent four years as an athletics communications student assistant at Northwest Missouri State, helping out with all aspects of communications, including the 2013 NCAA D2 football national champions .

A 2015 graduate of Northwest Missouri State, Shipp earned his bachelor’s degree in mass media with an emphasis in sports media . In 2017, he graduated with his master’s degree in sport administration and leadership from Augustana .
