Military Studies Minor | Military electives may be taken from credit recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE) or military credit from regionally accredited institutions. Military Studies minors may only be declared as a second major within the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree program and follow the same guidelines as the Military Operations minor. Any excess military credit may go toward the student’s free electives requirement if needed.

MILITARY TUITION ASSISTANCE If you are a military member using Tuition Assistance (TA) please submit your TA form as outlined below. Please email your approved forms to taforms@troy.edu. AIR FORCE: Please request Air Force Tuition Assistance via the Air Force Virtual Education Center (AFVEC). Air Force TA requests must be approved during the window between 45 days prior to the course start date, but not later than 7 days before classes begin. ARMY: Active duty, Reserve and National Guard members must request tuition assistance through the My Army Benefits webpage. TA requests must be submitted and approved 5 days before the course start date. If you are using Army TA, please contact the Student Financial Services Office at 334-670-3124. NAVY: Sailors must complete the steps outlined in the Navy College webpage. All WebTA applications must be submitted and command approved no later than 14 days prior to your term start date. MARINE CORPS: To receive Tuition Assistance, Marines must complete the steps outlined in the Marine Corps Community Services webpage. Start your WebTA application 60 days in advance of the term start date. You can submit your TA even before finishing your enrollment in the course at your school. COAST GUARD: Guidance on the Coast Guard’s Tuition Assistance program can be found on FORCECOM’s webpage. Service members must complete their Tuition Assistance Counseling Worksheet (ETQC-4147-2). You can apply for Coast Guard TA up to 90 days prior to the course start date. All TA applications must be command approved by the ESO 14 days prior to the course start date.
