Thankfully, some cookbooks may come handy, but some of these are expensive. Also, relying on a diet with just fruits and veggies can be admittedly impractical for some.

Needless to mention, no junk food means no extra weight. Yes, the alkaline diet might help in losing weight, but not probably for the reasons claimed. Our body is capable of maintaining the natural pH balance, and the foods you eat may not have a significant impact on that level.


Alkaline water has better pH, often measured at 9 or more. Natural stream water passes over rocks and gathers many minerals, which helps in changing the pH balance. Of course, not everyone has access to fresh spring or stream water, and hence, we have many brands selling us packaged bottles. Also known as vitamin enhanced water, these bottles are infused with minerals like potassium, magnesium, and calcium, which are good for the body. Alkaline water may also regulate the blood sugar levels and can help in increasing the metabolism rate, which can in turn help with losing weight. Should you follow this diet? There’s nothing wrong about this concept, as long as you can follow it. Of course, it might not do all the things as claimed by many, but it certainly is a natural choice. You will see a change in your weight and overall natural energy levels for sure. If nothing else, you can start with alkaline water!
