Airbnb for the disabled receives capital from business angel Travel portal for disabled persons, Handiscover, take in three million crowns. One third of the funding comes from business angel Dušan Stojanovic. Handiscover was launched in October by Sebastien Archambeaud from Båstad. He experienced how difficult it was to travel with his son who had muscle disease. It was impossible to know whether a specific vacation rental has a wide enough bathroom door for a wheelchair to get through, how high or how many steps one has to take to arrive at the rentals’ entrance. Handiscover provides a three stage classification marked by visible symbols, which allows the user to choose his accommodation based on his desired level of mobility. The company is currently carrying out its first investment round to bring in seed capital of 3 million SEK. One million comes from one of Sweden's most prominent business angels, Dušan Stojanovic. He is the founder of the international investment network True Global Ventures, which invests exclusively in Fintech. The investment is made through one of Stojanovic company, Adriatic Home, which rents out holiday homes in the Adriatic region. "Adriatic Home has almost two million visitors to its web site which we can take advantage of to drive traffic to our site," says Sebastien Archambeaud in a press release.
