Syd connects him with George Martin. 1963 – `Please Please Me’ LP, 7th week in the Top 10 (UK New Musical Express chart). 1967 – NEMS Enterprises announces that Gerry and the Pacemakers will split in the next two months. 1968 – Its reported that the Beatles have been warned by the management of The Portman that they will have to erase the psychedelic paintings on the Apple Boutique’s wall. 1968 – John and Paul interview with Larry Kane. Alan Klein flies to New York for a meeting with the board of directors of ABKCO. John, George and Ringo order Peter Brown and Neil to sign Klein’s contracts. The contracts are signed, with the sole exception of Paul’s.
