THE TATTNALL WAY

MISSION The mission statement is Tattnall’s expression of its Athletic Department’s purpose. It focuses and guides our programs. Our statement communicates to everyone involved and gives us a shared understanding of our intended direction.

03 / TATTNALL

Our mission is to provide excellent programs, grounded in Christian faith. Through rigorous training and competition, we prepare our teams for success, while inspiring a passion for Christ within a culture of competition and character.

CULTURE Culture is the expression of a program’s values, attitudes, and goals about practice, competition, and relationships. It determines the focus and direction of the department and its members. Championship culture impacts directly the areas that affect team functioning, behavior, and performance.

05 / TATTNALL

The purpose of culture is to drive behaviors that lead to success.

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT / 06

SUCCESS Success and winning are not synonymous since winning depends on many factors. However, our athletes are in complete control of their success. We urgently strive to win championships, and because of that effort, we will be successful in our relationship with Christ, with family, academically, and athletically. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14 07 / TATTNALL

Success is becoming more than you thought you could be by dedicating your best for the desired outcome of the TEAM. ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT / 08

VALUES Values are concepts, standards, ideas, and beliefs. Our values demonstrate what the Tattnall Athletic Department represents and helps create a set of shared behaviors which will be distinguishable in the community.

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1 09 / TATTNALL

EACH DAY WE ENFORCE OUR VALUES IN PRACTICES, GAMES, WORKOUTS, AND MEETINGS.

Attitude and Effort ATTITUDE confident, energetic, intense, passionate, spirited, committed EFFORT relentless, urgent, purposeful, deliberate, intentional

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for man. Colossians 3:23 ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT / 10

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 11 / TATTNALL

BEHAVIORS Leaders create culture. Culture drives behavior. Behavior produces results. “While values are abstract, behaviors are concrete. They are actions we can actually see. When we describe our culture in terms of the behaviors we want to see taking place each day, it resonates with people in a way that influences their actions. As leaders, defining the behaviors gives us the tools and the opportunities to teach and reinforce what Tattnall Square Academy is looking for. That is what creating and driving a culture is all about – our athletes and staff consistently performing the Tattnall way.” - Joey Hiller, Athletic Director And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 15 / TATTNALL
