Ever been unsure how environmentally friendly a product is?
In this TSAF short report we look at greenwashing, the deliberate distortion of public perception to appear more environmentally friendly. Starting with the basics we pull up some examples and demonstrate how greenwashing helps companies get away with bad practice while appealing to environmentally-minded consumers. From there we examine how greenwashing obstructs societal progression towards sustainability and make suggestions for how to 'fight back' (in the words of a Coca-Cola lobbying campaign).
