Extending Assessment Time Limits for Students with Accommodations This tutorial will show you how to extend the assessment time limit for students that need additional time due to a documented accommodation.
Adding an Environmental Variable to the course
Click on the Manage tab and then the Add a Variable link.

TEAMACCESS_DISPLAY Environmental Variable
In the Variable Name box type TEAMACCESS_DISPLAY. In the Variable Value box type the number 1. Then click the Save button.
Creating Teams
Click on the Manage Tab -> Teams Editor and click the Add a Team link.

Students Team Part 1
You will first need to create a students team in which you will enroll all the students in your class. Just label it students and hit Save (unless you want to add additional criteria).

Students Team Part 2
Once you hit Save you will be taken to the Add Team Members area. On this screen for the Students team you will want to select all users and click the Add Selected button then click Done.
Accommodation Team Repeat the two steps above for the Accommodations team, but this time only add the students that need accommodations.

Setting up the Assessment Part 1
Go to the Advanced Access tab in the Settings area of your assessment. Under View Restrictions choose Selected Teams under Team Access, check the boxes next to the two teams and click the link for the Accommodation team.

Setting up the Assessment Part 2
In the Custom Team Settings window click the Advanced Settings, set the Team Priority to 1 (this will give these settings priority over other team settings) and set your time limit and other settings the way you want. Once you have it all click the Save button and then the Close button.
Setting up the Assessment Part 3 Finally click the Save button for the Assessment (once you have configured the rest of the assessment settings) and you are done! All the students listed in the Accommodations team will have an extended time to take the assessment. Just repeat the "Setting up the Assessment" parts for all future assessments.
