Creating a PDF flipbook for your Distance Learning course using issuu.com

Why a “flipbook”? • Why not? Different is surprising! Delight can be used to promote engagement. • Flipbooks are an interactive way to deliver an otherwise static slideshow. • Different? Yes. Overwhelmingly alien? No. Present your content without overshadowing it with technology. • Best of all, you can embed right in your in Angel lessons. No download to the viewer’s computer!

When do I use a “flipbook”? • When you have a slideshow but want a something extra visually. • When you do not want to worry about your audience having a specific viewing software on their computer.

How do I create a “flipbook”? • You have already done the hard part. If you have created a PowerPoint or a multipage document, you have already done most of the work! • Just export or Save-as a PDF file. Its now ready to upload to www.issuu.com for conversion.

How does issuu work? • Once your PDF document is complete you can e-mail it to Todd or I to upload to Terra’s issuu account. We will e-mail back a link for you to embed into your Angel lesson. This is done just like embedding a YouTube Video. • If you like, you can create your own issuu account at www.issuu.com and upload your own content. It’s free!

“I’ve seen this someplace before.” • Yes you have! The modules in teaching online 101 were created and uploaded into issuu to be converted into “books”. • The book you are now reading was also created by issuu!

Thank you for reading. Add issuu to your teaching toolbox and begin delivering your course content with a new twist. Feel free to contact Phil Paskvan with any questions at ppaskvan01@terra.edu
