The Hilltown Summer Festival is celebrating the Hilltown in many diverse ways; from tasteful, tasty and tantalizing through to thought provoking and stretching—there is something here for everyone. We would love to hear your thoughts and comments about the different events and activities you and your family attend. Furthermore to make next year’s Festival bigger and better we need your help! Scottish Evening and Ceilidh for the whole family 7.30pm-10.30pm Mark Henderson Centre Free (donations welcome) The fabulous University of Abertay Dundee Piping & Traditional Music Club will be performing Scottish Ceilidh dances. All welcome to a fun filled evening. Come along for a fling!

Celebrating Language and Culture in the Community 2pm Mark Henderson Centre Free Do you know any local words? Do you want to learn more about where you live through arts, crafts and singing workshops? We will be using YOUR local words to print onto JUTE, learning Dundee songs as we JAM with a local singer and make collages from old newspapers (for the JOURNALISM bit).

Fibromyalgia Support Group 12(noon)-3pm Maxwelltown Information Centre Free Fibromyalgia is a common disorder that causes pain, tenderness, and stiffness in the muscles, tendon insertions and soft tissue. Come along or call 802628 if you are interested to find out more.

10am—4pm Free Come to a coffee morning, with music sessions and the chance to try the ‘Booth’, a simulator playing an award-winning film about hearing voices. From noon there is the Haven Lunch and an afternoon of creative writing, nails & beauty, and art.

Celebrating Language and Culture in the Community 2pm Mark Henderson Centre Free Opportunity to explore more about the Hilltown through song with the help of Sheena Wellington. A last ’hurl’ up Maxwelltown Tower 2pm-5pm (last tour at 4.30pm) Register at the Mark Henderson Centre Free DCC Housing department are offering the public the opportunity for a last visit to one of the vacant flats in Maxwelltown Tower prior to its demolition (first come first serve). For folk from outside Dundee, a "hurl" is a ride; in this case, a ride in a lift! Please call 660072 to reserve a place or for more information.
