Proludic’s new ACTI’FUN products are a playful way to move and feel good!

What better is there than play to encourage partaking in physical and sports activities from a very early age and give everyone the chance to adopt good sustainable lifestyle habits for the long term?

With its three ranges (ACTI’Ninja, ACTI’Street and ACTI’Fit) of outdoor fun-sport equipment under one brand, ACTI’FUN is Proludic’s way of movement making an integral part of the everyday routines for the greatest number of people possible (from 6-yearold children through to senior citizens) and playing sports an enjoyable experience.

These new products meet the needs of a variety of different

users within a play-based context and are underpinned by two principles. The sports formula that we all know and access combined with the motivations to enjoy sport in a fun way.

ACTI’Ninja trails are thrilling obstacle courses promoting an active lifestyle for children and teenagers aged 6 to 14 years. They consist of modules (individual sections of children’s outdoor play equipment) that can be combined to create unique timed trails.

A stopwatch is started when the child crosses the start line and stopped when they cross the finish line. The child must use strength, balance, endurance and dexterity to beat the clock.

ACTI’Street Workout is an urban sport, a cross between weightlifting and gymnastics. It involves a series of exercises that call for strength, flexibility and balance. Exercises are performed using body weight on several sets of bars. This equipment can be used for pullups, dips, push-ups and squats to build muscle strength, endurance and flexibility.

Proludic ACTI’Fit equipment consists of a range of items used in sports environments for an enjoyable, athletic outdoor experience. This range is ergonomically optimised to provide access for all and permit multiple applications both when exercising and relaxing.

Playrite combines fun with safety

Fun should not be sacrificed when it comes to play and activity. The ground can easily be one of the biggest areas for injury at playtime in school and nursery, with children being clumsy and having falls, slipping on wet ground and tripping over uneven surfaces.

As the name suggests, a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) is one that can be used for a variety of different sports and activities. They are becoming very popular with sports clubs, schools and other organisations that have limited spaces and need to get the best possible use out of a premium area.

Six sensational new playgrounds for council

Playdale was overjoyed to be given the contract to design, build, and install six (yes, six!) brand new playgrounds for the largest local authority in England, Kent County Council.

Kent County Council had obtained funding for investment in playgrounds throughout the county from the Contain Outbreak Management Fund.

The Fund was created to provide additional outdoor provision to limit the spread of COVID-19, with an emphasis on enhancing park amenities in higher deprivation communities and encouraging people to participate in outside activities.

The requirement was to create new play areas which contained both imaginative and creative play components for toddlers and risk-taking and more challenging elements for older children, including sliding, climbing, swinging and inclusive play!

Due to the play area’s locations, the council preferred timber equipment to stay in keeping with the natural environment.

The Playdale Area Manager for Kent, Jill Watson carried out indepth site surveys of all the sites which included: Pegwell Bay Country Park, Manor Park Country Park, Teston Bridge Country Park, Trosley Country Park, Shorne Wood Country Park, Brockhill Country Park and discussed the tender requirements in more detail with the Council.

Jill had been working with the Council for over 20 years, creating a strong relationship with them during that period. Playdale equipment was already installed in five of the six playgrounds.

For some of them, the new equipment was an extension of the existing Playdale playground, leaving the old equipment in situ, which was still regularly used by park visitors.

The completed playgrounds, won by Playdale through a competitive tendering process showcase a wide range of timber products as well as products with inclusive design elements.
