When thinking of luxury, what is more luxurious than a 100+ foot yacht? Upon extensive research, I found that the curves and structure of yachts in aerial view and persective could resemble that of a chair or recliner. This is the concept used for SKETCHES the design of the Maritime Recliner. The Maritime is a reclining chair is a high end recliner disguised as a chair. Unlike most traditional recliners which are bulky, puffy, and considered more casual seating, the Maritime recliner features a high back, a tight upholstered inback with button tufting, and is aesthetically structured and visually light. The reclining mechanism allows for the Maritime Recliner to replace the typical chair and ottoman duo used in typical hotel rooms. In doing this, the client can save space for other design aspects without compromising the superiority of the room.
