Enjoy a morning at leisure and an afternoon game drive in search of the famous tree-climbing lions, blue monkeys, dik diks, gazelles, hippos, giraffes, impalas, flamingos and nearly 400 bird species found in the area. Depart during the early morning splendor of an African sunrise for your first game drive of the day. This afternoon, relax at the lodge until the day cools down and the animals become more active for your afternoon drive. DAY 9 SERENGETI / NGORONGORO CRATER

Continue your journey to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of Africa’s best-known wildlife areas. Visit a local Maasai village to observe the tribe’s way of life and learn about their culture and beliefs. (BLD)

Descend 2,000 feet through the early morning mists, to explore the crater floor of this extinct volcano. You’ll be in awe of the profusion of wildlife concentrated here. DAY 11 NGORONGORO CRATER / ARUSHA / DEPART

Savor the last morning in Tanzania. After breakfast transfer to the airstrip for the scheduled light aircraft flight to Arusha. Enjoy lunch and a place to relax at a day room reserved for your use. Later this afternoon transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your international departure flight.(BL)
