Hot Cross Buns Ingredients: 210g whole grain flour 50g rolled oats 1/2 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp dried yeast 125ml low fat milk 2 tsp honey 1 tsp vanilla extract 4 tsp olive oil 1/2 tsp salt 1 egg, lightly beaten 30g raisins & currants
Method: Mix the wholemeal flour, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, yeast and a pinch of salt in a mixing bowl. Warm the milk, vanilla and honey just a little until just slightly warm, then pour into the mixing bowl along with the egg and oil. Mix the dough for about 6 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. Add the dried fruits and mix through. Cover the bowl and leave the dough to double in size in a warm environment for about an hour. Pour the dough onto a floured chopping board or work bench. Kneed a little then shape into 10 rolls. Cover lightly with a damp tea towel and allow to rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat your oven to 190 C. Bake for 20 minutes until golden. Allow to cool, then make a cross on the buns using your favourite Forever Free yogurt.

The ISPCA have saved hundreds of puppies and dogs over the last 12 months from deplorable conditions from rogue puppy breeders. Mothers and puppies arrive at our Centres terrified, often huddled together silently. On many occasions, the ISPCA has found that mom has no access to day light, has inappropriate bedding and is cooped up in a small kennel or breeding cage. In the worst cases there is limited food or access to clean drinking water with minimal human interaction or veterinary care. After extensive treatment and rehabilitation, the ISPCA find loving homes for these puppies where they will receive the love and kindness they deserve. 6

Children's Dental Care – how to brush
Establishing good oral hygiene routines at a young age is the first step towards healthy teeth, throughout life. Children need help and supervision to brush from the first tooth until the age of 10-12. A small child does not have the manual skills to brush properly and is not able to understand the consequences of not brushing correctly.
Six tips for brushing children’s teeth
Brush twice a day Brush once in the morning and once at night before bedtime. Use a small and soft brush The toothbrush should have a small brush head and gentle filaments. Apply a little toothpaste Use the size of the children’s little finger nail. Create a habit Brush the inside, outside and biting surface in the same order to make sure no side is forgotten. Remember the gum line Place the filaments along the teeth and gum line in a 45º angle. Be gentle Brush with a slight pressure using small movements.
Japanese Marathon Sinead Diver, one of 20,000 entrants and one of 15 international runners from outside Japan was extremely happy with her performance recently as was her coach Tim Crosbie. Sinead was 10th overall and 2nd of the international runners behind this year’s Olympic Silver medallist. Her time was 2.31.37, a personal best. She is now rated 2nd in line for the Australian marathon team to compete in in the World championship games in London next August.
Toothbrushing should be fun
All children sometimes refuse to brush their teeth. Here are some tricks for a smoother ride. Let your baby play with a toy for distraction. Use a song or a story to create a positive atmosphere around toothbrushing. Change environment and brush in bed or on the sofa.

Top Tips Lipstick on the teeth
has plagued women for centuries. Nobody likes to smile and find out that they have red all along their pearly whites. A great way to avoid this is to simply wipe your lips from the inside out. After you finish applying your lipstick, just stick your finger in your mouth and pull it out. Remember making those “popping” noises when you were a kid? This is the same thing. Your finger will wipe away the excess lipstick and leave your teeth shiny white.

Graduated manicures are all the rage and they are so easy to do, if you know how. Instead of spending hours applying each coat of color, just apply them all at once. You will need a few makeup sponges and the colors that you plan to use. Just paint the pattern that you want on the makeup sponge and then press it to your nail. Instant manicure that’s really easy to do and will ensure that the pattern is the same on every nail.
BACK WITH A BANG!
The first game of the season is meant to be a dull affair as fellas find their feet after a long hibernation. Nobody told the Erris Under 15's as they began their campaign with a game that had more drama than a box set of Breaking Bad. Newly promoted Erris played reigning champions Castlebar Celtic in Carne Nash on a glorious evening. The teams could not be separated in the first half as tactical battles were fought all over the pitch. Celtic came closest with a deft chip but Keeper Fiachna let it go, knowing full well it was going to hit the crossbar. Celtic took the lead against the run of play as Erris were caught on the break from a free kick in the opponents half. It didn't take long for Erris to equalise as Eoin Walsh caused havoc on the left for Captain Dara Dixon to finish well from the edge of the box. Celtic dominated for the next ten minutes and went 2-1 up. This Erris team aren't used to being behind in a match, and they don't like it. Jack Geraghty played a pinpoint pass to Dylan Togher who held off his marker to feed Eoin Walsh. A sublime finish brought Erris level with 15 minutes to go. Both teams pressed for a win but it finished us 2 them 2. Fiachna was brave and a steadying influence at the back. John Ginty and Billy look like they have been playing centre back together for twenty years. Ciaran Cawley and Padraic Gaughan were quick to turn defence into attack. Cillian Reilly, Dara and Dylan were a constant threat. Calum and Jack Geraghty, along with Luke Tighe kept the defenders on their toes. Eoin was lit on the left as he had a packed stand on their feet every time he attacked. Daithi was outstanding in the middle of the park, dictating the pace of the Erris play. Special mention to Adam Conroy who also played centre midfield. He had Kennedy Cup players all around him and he stood up to every challenge. The discipline displayed, constantly shielding the defenders, while never fouling was beautiful. Any chance he got, he was on the front foot, probing and creating. Great stuff. Managers Andrew, Mac and Des were delighted with a team performance that was full of courage, skill and discipline. Prior to the match, many felt Erris would do very well to get a point, at the end they were disappointed they didn't get all three. Well done boys. Thank you to all who came to support us. It was rocking.
