Sesongen er endelig i gang!

av hovedtrener Jonathan Hill

So, the 2020 season is about to start.

Its been a very challenging period for all of us. It’s been fantastic to see how everyone involved at TUIL has coped, cooperated and showed a togetherness during COVID-19.

I would like to thank the leadership group, on behalf of the A Team Players and Staff, for their support during this complicated period. Their clear and frequent information updates, really did simplify dealing with the government and football guidelines.

Thanks to Gøril Heide and Stig Riise who have constantly been giving us practical up-to-date guidance and professional advice.

Thanks to the players and staff who have shown a fantastic commitment to TUIL and to each other.

The facilities and refurbishment of TUIL Arena continues to impress every visitor to Tromsdalen. We should all be proud of the first class facilities that we have for the use of every member of the Tromsdalen Football community.

During the preseason we saw Sebastian Tounekti and Kent Malic Swaleih move to Bodø/Glimt. Although it would have been nice for the TUIL supporters to see these 2 youngsters playing for TUIL in 2020, it is a great achievement for the 2 boys, and it also demonstrates that TUIL is doing a really good job in developing players capable playing at the highest level in Norwegian Football. We can promise you that there are more exciting young players and they will get the opportunity to show their ability to the TUIL supporters.

Some new players have arrived to TUIL. Tobias Vibe needs no introduction and gives us a lot of defensive strength and experience, needed in a squad with many young talented players. Peder Mæhle, a ball retaining central midfielder from Fløya. Patrik Braathen, a more defensive and aggressive holding central midfielder from Finnsnes. Casper Øyvann, a very smart ball playing centre back, who has joined us from Bodø/Glimt. Bendik Mathiesen, a very smart offensive wide midfield player. All these players fit the TUIL profile, young and committed to the club.

Alex Samuelson joins as the Assistant Head Coach. Alex is a very smart and tactical coach, who is familiar with TUIL and has valuable experience working at Post Nord Level. Thomas Aloyseous replaces Tom Erik Richardsen, as our physical conditioner and trainer.

This will be a very exciting and challenging season. A altered league program which sees us play 7 away and 6 home fixtures. The league will then be divided into the Top 7 and bottom 7 teams playing against each other for promotion and relegation.

We will pushing hard to make this a very exciting season for everyone.

We hope you will be able to give us your valuable support both on and off the pitch.

Kind Regards

Jon Hill
