A LETTER FROM BEN WEINER DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS Five years ago, Yulman Stadium reunited us to a rich history of football on this campus. Just blocks away, the original Tulane Stadium (1926-1975) hosted multiple Tulane Football games, Sugar Bowls, and even Super Bowl events. Our campus has certainly evolved over the years and has remained one of the finest places to earn an education and we could not be prouder of the support we have received to make Yulman Stadium possible. Today marks the next phase and a new era of Tulane Athletics and how fans and supporters reinvest into our athletics programs by purchasing season tickets. The contents of this guide highlight refinements to our priority season ticket model beginning in January 2019, with football season ticket renewals. As we look to the future, we aspire to create the best atmosphere possible for our student-athletes to compete. We believe this fan-first model is the best step forward for Tulane Athletics and pledge to do our best to make this transition as smooth and fair as possible. However, we also recognize change can be difficult. We hope this guidebook provides you with the necessary information to understand the plan and process, so we can move forward together as one. Should you have any questions along the way, our Green Wave Club office staff is available to assist you at 504-865-5356.

THE MISSION

UNDERSTANDING THE REFINEMENTS In the Spring of 2017, Tulane Athletics began a thorough analysis of priority seating for Football, Men’s Basketball, and Baseball. The findings from this analysis brought forth two main standards we used to refine our priority seating model:

STANDARD

#1

INCREASE THE NUMBER OF SEASON TICKET HOLDERS In 2017, priority seating sections on average (% of capacity) were: 46.06% in Yulman Stadium (football), 51.8% in Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse (men's basketball), and 40.42% in Turchin Stadium (baseball)

UNDERSTANDING THE REFINEMENTS

#2

STANDARD

ADD VALUE TO ALL SEASON TICKET HOLDERS The current system rewards season ticket holders who purchase 4-6 season tickets to all three priority seating sports (Football, Men’s Basketball, and Baseball) • The average season ticket holder purchases 2-4 season tickets • Only 6.3% of our fans are three sport season ticket holders (Football, Men’s Basketball, and Baseball)

ONLY

THE AVERAGE SEASON TICKET HOLDER PURCHASES 2-4 TICKETS PER SEASON The current system rewards season ticket holders who purchase 4-6 season tickets to all three priority seating sports

SOLUTION 2019 S E AT I N G G U I D E

Implement an à la carte, per-seat per-sport, system that empowers fans to make individual choices on seating preference for Football, Men’s Basketball, and Baseball adding immediate value to all season ticket holders. 5

THE PROCESS ANNUAL DONATIONS

SEASON TICKET & DONATION RENEWALS

Beginning January 2019

Beginning in January 2019, you will receive your 2019 Green Wave Football season ticket renewal at the same time as a priority seating donation renewal. The season ticket application will include your seat locations eligible for renewal, much like in previous seasons.

Per-seat donations represent a simplified system for season ticket holders. Rather than being required to meet donation thresholds to be eligible to sit in certain seating areas, you will select your seats wherever you prefer as inventory remains. If you choose to sit in a priority seating area, your seat location will determine your minimum Green Wave Club donation amount. This same process will occur should you decide to be a multi-sport season ticket holder. By choosing to sit in priority seating areas and donating to the Green Wave Club, you are investing directly into our 17-varsity athletics programs. Your investment provides the necessary resources to develop the best and brightest studentathletes from around the world.

The priority seating donation renewal has been added to highlight any per-seat donations you have for each of your season tickets. This section highlights the total per-seat donation for your season tickets. Submit the payment by the listed deadline to successfully renew your season tickets. This same process will occur for football, men’s basketball, and baseball season ticket renewals. Any other per-seat donation requirements will be included at the bottom of your renewal form under the Upcoming Priority Seating Donations section. We encourage you to fulfill all of your per-seat donation requirements by the April 15th deadline in order to maximize your membership benefits and priority points for the entire drive year. Submit your applications with the season ticket payment and your donation requirement to successfully renew your season tickets. Should you have any questions about the new format or would like to discuss your payment options, please call the Green Wave Club at 504-865-5356.

PLEASE NOTE: If you intend to relocate your season tickets into a new section or do not plan to renew, your published per-seat requirements are subject to change. 8

WHY IS TULANE ATHLETICS IMPLEMENTING A PER-SEAT MODEL FOR PRIORITY SEASON TICKETS? Over 80% of our current season ticket holders only purchase season tickets to one sport (Football, Men’s Basketball, or Baseball). Therefore, we believe this fan-first model provides a clear and convenient way to acquire more fans and retain current fans by lowering the required investment for the best seats in our venues. Additionally, this process is industry standard and will generate more support for Tulane’s 17-varsity athletics programs.

WHY ARE PER-SEAT DONATIONS NECESSARY? Tulane Athletics has a responsibility to provide a first-class experience to each of our 325 student-athletes. Per seat donations help support our athletics programs by enhancing the resources necessary to develop the best and brightest student-athletes from around the world. 2019 S E AT I N G G U I D E

WHEN WILL THIS NEW MODEL BEGIN? The first per-seat donation renewal application will begin in January 2019, with Football season ticket renewals. Men’s Basketball renewals will follow in July 2019 and Baseball renewals in October 2019.

I CANNOT AFFORD TO MAKE A PER-SEAT DONATION FOR MY SEASON TICKETS. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS? Tulane Athletics is committed to providing an affordable entertainment experience for all our fans. Therefore, we will continue to offer non-priority (no donation required) season tickets in a variety of sections throughout our venues much like we have since 2014.

WHEN I MAKE A PER-SEAT DONATION, AM I MEMBER OF THE GREEN WAVE CLUB? Per seat donations, as well as any donation to Tulane Athletics, make you a member of the Green Wave Club.

DO I HAVE PRIORITY TO MY SAME SEASON TICKET LOCATIONS IN 2019 AS I DID IN PREVIOUS SEASONS? Yes. When you receive your season ticket renewal form, it will highlight all of your season ticket locations from the previous season. To successfully renew those same seats, simply submit the perseat donation renewal and season ticket renewal forms with payment.

WILL MY SEASON TICKET SEAT LOCATION CHANGE IN THIS NEW MODEL? Season ticket holders should consider their per-seat donation capacity prior to selecting seats. Although many donation areas have decreased donation requirements, you may be required to contribute more depending on your seating preferences and ticket quantities.
