CORE VALUES To recognize participation in athletics as an integral part of the educational process. To provide student-athletes and staff with the best possible facilities, services and equipment. To promote the physical, intellectual and emotional development of all student-athletes.

THE MISSION

To create an environment fostering the concepts of teamwork, scholarship, sportsmanship, leadership, loyalty and integrity. To operate in a fiscally responsible manner, providing opportunities within the limitations of resources. To commit to diversity and the equitable and non-discriminatory treatment of all student-athletes and staff.

OF THE TULANE UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS is to support the university’s purpose of enriching the capacity to think, learn, act and lead with integrity and wisdom. This is ensured by providing our student-athletes and staff with opportunities for competitive success and personal growth within the context of sportsmanship, teamwork, and integrity.

A LETTER FROM THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR Through the generosity of over 2,300 members, the Green Wave Club is able to support our 17 varsity sports. As we strive to develop the best and brightest scholarathletes from around the world, your support is more important than ever. When you consider the direct expenses associated with academic support, away game travel, equipment, nutrition, sports medicine and other athletic program needs, it is important that we partner with supporters who desire to make an impact on the future of our athletics programs. As a member of the Green Wave Club, you are taking a significant step in securing the future of Tulane Athletics and our 325 student-athletes. The upcoming year has the makings to be a banner year for our coaches, student-athletes, and administration. We could not accomplish our goals without the support of donors like you. Thank you for all you do to support the Green Wave!

DONOR ADVISED FUNDS Gifts made from donor advised funds (DAF) to support Tulane are welcomed. However, tax laws and regulations, as well as the guidelines of many organizations that administer DAFs, prohibit the donor or other individuals from receiving more than incidental benefits as a result of a gift from a DAF. Therefore, DAF gifts cannot be used to fulfill individual pledges and cannot be made for event tickets, the right to purchase priority season tickets or other donor benefits (i.e. hospitality & parking). A donor may still support Tulane through a DAF gift if the donor declines all benefits that would otherwise be provided as a result of the gift. For specific information regarding your legal or tax situation, please consult your own professional advisor. The sponsor of your DAF can provide you with a form to recommend a gift from your DAF to the Green Wave Club. If you have questions about how to designate the Green Wave Club on your grant recommendation form, please contact Rachael Yepez at 504-314-7295 or tugift@tulane.edu.

TAX INFORMATION/DISCLAIMER Contributions to the Green Wave Club are deductible to the extent that they exceed the value of the goods and services Tulane provides in return. Under Internal Revenue Code provisions in effect as of the date of publication of this guide, gifts eligible for the right to purchase tickets for seating at an athletic event are 80% deductible. Proposed tax legislation could repeal deductions for these gifts. Other benefits can further reduce deductibility of a gift. If you choose to waive all applicable benefits, you must sign a written waiver at the time you make your Green Wave Club gift. Please consult your tax advisor about how the tax rules apply to you. 9

GIVING LEVELS & MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS ANNUAL GIVING LEVELS & BENEFITS Each Green Wave Club member’s ability to obtain various benefits is determined by cash contributions to the annual fund in the current fiscal year.
