Key words: moderate control; family-style orphanage; natural factors; growth; safety The purpose of the project is to understand the role and significance of moderate control over shaping space, and to study Tanzanian family-style orphanage as a starting point, deliberating a comprehensive conception. There are a lot of unnecessary waste of resources and spaces caused by over-design, and moderate design is the opposite concept. Therefore, the space proper control will inevitably exert significant influence in resource preservation and ecological environment conservation. Tanzania is in eastern Af『ica, with low industrial production technology,and its daily necessities have to rely on imports or second-hand market, people’s lives are at large in poverty.Unfortuntely the local residents have not yet awared of the meaning of appropriate control, unconsciously damaging the original ec。logical environment. After accumulating experience and research in Boona Baana orphanag,which is located in the former capital Da 「 es Salaam for two months, my aim of the project was to conceive and redesign the orphanage (the old plot),embeding the moderate concept of design into the specific space, emphasizing the integration of space and natural factors.growth traces of children and resource recycling, safety and children's physical and mental health.imperceptibly establishing the concept of ecological protection on the orphans, who would be growing in a healthy and joyful environment.Although the whole outcomes was simply not be realize, the new thoughts are still worth being deliberating. Thinking map: Firstly, through perceiving the concept and the meaning of moderate design, the relationship between moderate cont 「ol and family-style orphanage is elaborated, and the importance of controlling space to protect the ecological envi 「onment and family orphanage is discussed. Secondly, Based on the current situation of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and in-depth research on orphanag白, with the help of the four factors of moderate analysis (space, resources, behavior and safety)of the orphanage, I summed up the four factors and their respective characteristics in the specific orphanage situation, and put forward the design strategy according to the pertinent characteristics Finally, the redesign of the Boona Baana would try to achieve the goal of reconstructing the connection between children and nature, optimizing the use of resources and space in the courtyard, creating a sense of home security, and conveying the original design concept-一- ecological conservation and healthy life pa忧erns.

Through the 「esearch on the design and application of architectural disciplines, I have put forward the basic principles of proper control of architectural space through the analysis of the sign ificance and connotation of moderate space design. Based on the above analysis, I had made an intensive field investigation and analysis on the moderation of the space and behavior of a family-style orphanage in TanzaniaBoona Baana, emphasizing the charac· teristics of moderate control in space design: app『opriate scale and relation of space, mode『ation of 『esou rice, moderate perception and behavior, moderate security. In the end.I embed the four characteristics as the core in design strategy, deliberating a conception of Boona-Baana Center For Children’S Rights.

ORIGIN: Du『i『ig July and August in 2012, I traveled to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, to participate in an international volunteer p『ogram called AFRIKIDS, voluntary services fo『 O『phanages. So I had the oppo『tunity to visit many different types of orphanages in Tanzania, one of which is BoonaBaana Cent町, which I had been exclusively e『igaged in. Th 『ough

two-month volunteer work and an in-depth understanding of the cu 『rent state of the orphanage, I wonder whether a reasonable design would give them more help. After returning home, thanks to the opportunity of the graduation design project, I’ ve got a chance to 『ethink and conceive some new thoughts about space shaping of Boona-Baana, puting forward new ideas and design strategies.

It really all started in 1992 when Brook was studying Chinese in Tianjin China . While the『e she had the oppo付unity to do some volunteer wo『k at a local o『phanage and she fell in love with so many of the babies.Brooke and Marco ma 「ried in 1995 in Taiwan and in 2000 they adopted thei『 first child, a 4-year-old girl named Messay, who is from Ethiopia. SPACE FEATURES Boona-Baana is situated in the leased area, so the house itself is not designed specifically for the o『phanage. Through observation, records and researchs I summarizes the users behavio『 characteristics and needs related to spac~s .which wi ll be as a starting point to put forward new ideas. Boona-Baana is located along Mori Road in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, which is a typical urban housing type with many houses built on the 『oadside .Orphanage gate towa『d the nort hwest, in the middle of the garage and a star hotel, Wanyama Hotel. The local climate is hot and humid with the annual average temperature of 25.8 ℃ . April to September is the r11iny season, the annual October to next March is the dry season.

Children in the orphanage are not well-balanced between books and play. Amina is often drawn to other elements in l earnin~ periodic table of elements.and Eliza is often absent from the study, wh ile Issac will suddenly be in a slu gish state when commun icating w ith others. The house has a bookshelf, but the books have been dusty, we can see children ’ s attitudes in the orphanage toward the book and the pursuit of knowledge is not as enthusiastic as to play.

Although we can not predict the pros and cons in such a complex rep 「esentation , we sti ll need to concerned about and judge. We have been contemplating with the following questions:How to embed the traditional aesthetic philosophy into the contemporary cu ltural reality?
