Mr. Higgins worked as a Stillwater police officer for 25 years. During his time in Stillwater, he served in many capacities, including working on a State Drug Task Force and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. He also worked as the Stillwater Police Department Citizens Police Academy coordinator, teaching community leaders about the difficulties faced by law enforcement agencies. He was a member of the Stillwater Multi-Jurisdictional Tactical Team, winning the Oklahoma Special Weapons and Tactics Statewide Competition in 2015 and 2018. He also joined with other officers from around Oklahoma to help assist with Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts. Mr. Higgins has B.S. in Criminal Justice Management and multiple CLEET endorsements. He looks forward to sharing his wide range of expertise and experience in the new CLEET Basic Peace Officer Certification Academy.

Take US 75 North to 66th Street North, turn East on 66th Street, continue to the end of 66th Street before the road turns north into Lakewood, look for the paved road and TCSO Range Sign. The class is held in the Yellow Trailer. TCSO Range is to the east of the US Shooting Academy and the City of Tulsa Police Range.

Required training criteria for Armed Security and/or Armed Private Investigator Licensing. Instruction includes weapon nomenclature and inspection, shooting fundamentals, and safety per CLEET standards. Required skill/experience: Must provide a copy of a current CMA and CNA card and a photo ID with signature. Cannot have any abuse notations at the Nurse Aide Registry. This is advanced training for those already certified as a CMA and who need to provide medications via feeding tubes and inhalers for residents/clients. These types of Certified Medication Aides can work in nursing facilities, continuum of care facilities, specialized facilities, residential care homes, adult day care facilities, and assisted living centers. Discover State Department of Education requirements for school bus drivers, including legal controls, emergency procedures, student behavior management, defensive driving, loading and unloading, railroad crossing, pre-trip inspections, emergency evacuation, and skill maneuvers. 100% attendance required.
Required skill/experience: Must be at least 18 years old, have at least 20/40 eye acuity in each eye with or without correction, and have a valid Driver’s License.
