Multiple benefits of new compacts

There was a time that whenever you visited a golf club or sports facility you’d find an old faithful tractor in the sheds. It probably still worked but was retained because of emotional attachment rather than its ability to pay its way.

There is no doubt tractors can get you that way.

“Tractor” or more precisely “Tacta” was among the first words I uttered, much to the dismay of the family members I snubbed in the process.

But such is the speed of development of tractors, and in particular compact tractors, those who have hung on to older models at the expense of purchasing the latest versions, are staggered by what a brand new tractor brings to the party.

Air conditioned cabs, GPS control, comfy seats, quadrophonic speaker systems, not to mention emission rates to keep even the most ardent eco warriors onside.

The flexibility they bring is also a massive advantage at a time when equipment and machinery needs to pull its weight and with the pto systems a good compact tractor can accompany so many vital pieces of turf maintenance machinery and cut down the need for expensive self-propelled machinery.

What I also love is that every brand of tractor has its own distinctive colour making them so easy to identify from a distance. Not for tractors the option of any one of a pallet of colours. You know what you get before you set foot in the show room and I think that’s great!
