Siempre que salimos de viaje, nos encontramos con multitud de guías turísticas y de ocio de gran calidad y contenido, y siempre nos hacemos la misma pregunta, ¿por que Benidorm no podrá tener una guía como las de otras capitales o ciudades? No ha sido fácil, pero hace nueve meses un grupo de gente que ama Benidorm decidió poner este proyecto en marcha y ahora podemos decir que es una realidad. Benidorm ya tiene su propia Guía Oficial “TIP GUIDE”. Lo único que pretendemos es dar un servicio mas a nuestros turistas y vecinos, para que en cualquier momento y lugar puedan saber que hacer, donde comer o donde comprar. Gracias a todas aquellas personas que han confiado en este proyecto y nos han animado para que esta guía, “TIP GUIDE”, se haya hecho realidad. Gracias.

Always when we travel, we find multitude competent tourist guides with the leisure of big quality and incorporation. We wonder every time and ask the same question “ Why cannot Benidorm have the same standard representatives as other cities. It was not easy but since nine month a group of people who love Benidorm decided to start a project, and we can inform you that it became reality. Benidorm has his own official guide “Tip Guide” We pretend to give a complete professional service to our tourists an citizens so they find in any moment the appropriate place to go, to eat and to shop. Empecemos por el principio. Tu primer álbum se titula “Feliz”, un compendio de melodías con interesantes letras. Esna, La Primavera, o No es tan fácil son grandes ejemplos de un equilibro entre lo acústico, lo metódico e interesantes baterías. ¿Un inicio fácil o difícil? Supongo que como todos los inicios, nunca son fáciles. Pero la ilusión, las ganas de poder dar forma a tus creaciones y que éstas lleguen a los demás es lo que hace que todo sea más fácil cuando comienzas una carrera musical. Como dato anecdótico, así lo expreso en una de las canciones de este primer álbum, No es tan fácil, y sin embargo la canción que da título al disco, Feliz, refleja en cierto modo la ilusión y los sentimientos de los que estamos hablando. Let’s start from the beginning. Your first album is called “Feliz “ (Happy) and includes melodies and interesting lyrics. Esna, La Primavera (Springtime) or No es fácil (It’s not easy) are all great examples of a balance between acoustic, methodical and interesting drum sounds. Was this an easy or dificult start? I suppose it is never easy in the beginning. But my dream and wish to be able to make something out of my creations and share them with others is what makes it all easier when you are at the beginning of your musical career. Funnily enough, this feeling is expressed in my song It’s not easy and yet the song which is also the title of the album “Feliz “ (Ha-

ppy) reflects my dreams and the feelings which I just mentioned. Ahora sacas tu segundo trabajo “Caminante”, en el cual has estado dedicando gran parte del pasado año 2011 ¿Qué novedades nos ofreces? Precisamente por el tiempo y dedicación que he empleado, y sumando los grandes profesionales que se han unido a mi nuevo proyecto, este segundo

disco es mucho más maduro. He vuelto a trabajar con Paco Loco como productor, de tal forma que la complicidad en el estudio ha sido mayor y eso se nota en el resultado final. Y como novedad importante, tengo que nombrar a un nuevo amigo, Carlos Hernández Nombela, productor e ingeniero de sonido que ha participado en múltiples discos de bandas como Pereza, Los Planetas, Joaquín Sabina... y que en esta ocasión 7

one hand, the lyrics have been carefully thought out, despite being written much quicker than on my first album. And on the other hand, “Caminante” has a much more distinctive string based sound, which I have been able to identify with a lot more and has allowed me to find and define my musical style.

yo he tenido el placer de trabajar con él, habiendo mezclado y masterizado todo el álbum. En este nuevo disco se puede ver reflejada la evolución que como músico he adquirido en esta aventura de aprendizaje musical. Por un lado, las letras están más meditadas aunque las haya compuesto relativamente más rápido que las del primer disco. Y por otro lado,“Caminante” es un disco en el que predominan las cuerdas, consiguiendo un sonido más peculiar, con el que me siento plenamente identificado, cerrando así mucho más mi estilo musical. Now you are bringing out your second album Caminante, (The Walker) in which you have been working on this 8

last year. What new features have you to offer? Well, this second album has taken a lot of time and dedication and I have worked alongside some great professionals resulting in a much more mature album. I have gone back to working with Paco Loco as my producer, with whom I work well and this can be seen in the final product. Also, I have the pleasure of working with my friend Carlos Hernández Nombela the producer and sound engineer of groups such as Pereza, Los Planetas, Joaquín Sabina. On this album he has been involved in the mixing and mastering. This new album reflects the musical progress I have made on what can be seen to be a musical learning adventure. On the

En tu música se observan influencias clásicas y sonidos ochenteros de bandas como The Cure, Depeche Mode... Pero con un toque diferente, amargo y dulce a la vez. ¿Qué artistas o grupos son tus mayores influencias? He escuchado mucha música de los años ochenta porque fue mi época adolescente, pero a día de hoy me decanto más por la música y el sonido de los sesenta. Y yo creo que en este disco quedan reflejadas en mayor medida estas influencias. Grandes artistas como Johnny Cash, Elvis, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits.... que no paro de escuchar sus discografías y siempre descubro algún detalle nuevo en alguna canción. Creo que los buenos discos son los que te van gustando cada vez más con cada escucha que les haces. In your music you can clearly observe influences from 80’s bands such as The Cure and Depeche Mode, but with a different touch, sweet but at the same time bitter. Which singers or groups are your major influences? I have listened to a lot of music from the 80’s because those were my teenage years, but nowadays I favour a more 70’s sound. I think these influences can

be heard on my new album. I don’t stop listening to great artists such as Johnny Cash, Elvis, Bob Dylan and Tom Waits and always discover something new in their songs. I think that great albums are ones that you like more and more each time you listen to them. Desde que diste el pistoletazo de salida a tu carrera como músico, no has parado de estar en la carretera. ¿Cómo ha sido la experiencia de representar a la Comunidad Valenciana en el festival “A Taste of Spain “ en Reino Unido? Me siento muy afortunado y orgulloso de poder participar en un evento tan importante como es este festival fuera de nuestras fronteras, todo un reto

teniendo en cuenta que mis letras son en castellano. En el año 2010 pude presentar mi primer disco en Edimburgo, donde tocamos varios días seguidos, continuando la mini gira británica en Nottingham, de donde también tuvimos una espléndida acogida. Y este pasado 2011 tuve la gran oportunidad como fue la de tocar en Londres, en la céntrica Regent Street, donde ya presenté parte de mi nuevo repertorio. Toda una experiencia inolvidable. From the time in which you gave your starting signal in your musical career, you haven’t stopped being on the road. What was it like representing the Valencian region in “A Taste of Spain”, the festival that is organised in the United Kingdom?

I feel very proud and fortunate to have been able to participate in such an important event outside my country, a great challenge considering all the lyrics to my songs are in Spanish. In 2010 my first album was released in Edinburgh, where as part of our tour of Great Britain we were playing for a few days after having played in Nottingham , where we were also made to feel welcome. Last year in 2011 I had the opportunity of playing in Regent Street, London where I presented part of my new album. An unforgettable experience. Entre otras citas de este pasado año 2011, nos gustaría hablar del Low Cost Festival, la cita en Benidorm, tu ciudad natal. ¿Cómo se siente uno al poder tocar en “tu casa” con tanto público? Fue genial. Tener en cuenta que tocar en un festival como el Low Cost te ofrece la oportunidad de poder tocar tus canciones ante un público masivo, y entre ese público tu gente. Se juntó lo bueno de tocar en casa con lo bueno de tocar en un festival en pleno crecimiento. Amongst other tour dates of the year 2011 I would like to mention the Low Cost Festival in Benidorm your hometown. How does it feel playing “at home” with such a big audience? It was terrific. Just think that playing in a festival like the Low Cost festival allows you to play to a massive audience, and in addition in a place where you can find your own folk. It was great to play in a festival that is growing and an added bonus for it to be held in my hometown. 9

We are still finalizing dates, but this month, that is January we will possibly play in Cadiz and Seville again, where we are always fondly received. And on the 2nd of February we will be in the Sala El Sol in Madrid and on the 10th in the auditorium in La Nucia, where I hope to find all my friends who welcomed us the last time. See you there! This is the town’s most extensive beach, being over 3 kilometres in length. It is a quieter beach than that of Levante and has a promenade where you can find a good selection of restaurants, bars and places of leisure. As well as providing a lot of leisure facilities the beach also has access for those with reduced mobility.

This is a much smaller and quieter cove of 120 metres in length. On front of this cove you can see Benidorm’s island which is an important marine reserve for those who love diving. This beach has had a blue flag since 1987 due to its quality.

When you think of winter coats, do the colours black, brown or beige come to mind? Think again! It´s time to change that, this season dark colours make way for jewel tones such as emerald green, fire engine red, or bright yellow. Take inspiration from SJP or the Burberry and Mulberry catwalks, then pop down to Zara and Stradivarius and copy the look for less.

WITH LLAMPUGA This trimester our friend Sefarin propone us a typical plate which always surprise us Thanks and greetings

INGREDIENTES INGREDIENTS -Arroz Rice -Pescado para caldo Fish for broth (morralla, cabezas de llampuga, etc) -1 llampuga Llampuga -1 sepia Cuttlefish -Pimiento rojo Red pepper -Calabaza Pumpkin -Coliflor Cauliflower -Alcachofa Artichoke -Ajos tiernos Garlic fresh -Tomate Tomato -Ajos Garlic -Perejil Parsley -Ñora Dried pepper -Sal, aceite y azafrán Salt-oil-saffron ELABORACIÓN Comenzamos troceando la llampuga, la sepia y la verdura. En una cazuela añadimos aceite y sofreimos la llampuga; la sacamos y reservamos. A continuación, en la misma cazuela, ponemos la sepia y la verdura y sofreimos. Mientras preparamos una picada con tomate, perejil, ajo y la ñora. Cuando esté la verdura

sofrita añadimos dos cucharadas soperas de la picada. Con el caldo previamente colado lo añadimos a la cazuela, sazonamos y añadimos azafrán y cuando hierva añadimos el arroz, cuando lleve 10 minutos hirviendo añadimos la llampuga. Dejamos otros 10 minutos y a soplar y comer. PREPARATION Start to make peaces from the llampuga…the cuttlefish and the vegetables. In a stove pot we put the oil en fry the llampuga, we take it out en put it apart. To continue into the same pot you put the cuttlefish and the vegetables and fry them. In between to cut fine the tomato, parsley garlic and the dried pepper. When the vegetables are fried you put 2 spoons of the just cut fine spices. With the broth early filtered you put that into the stove pot, with some saffron. When that is boiling you put in the rice, let it boil for 10 minutes and add the llampuga, you leave it another 10 minutes and blow and eat.
