GREEK ISLANDS, KOS ISLAND, LEROS ISLAND DAY – 1 BODRUM, KOS ISLAND BODRUM Bodrum is one of the best starts for sailing around the Aegean sea-coast of Turkey. It is placed on the southern coast of Bodrum Peninsula, at a point that controls the entrance into the Gulf of Gökova. The city was known as Halicarnassus of Caria in ancient times and was known for housing the Mausoleum of Mausolus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Bodrum Castle, built by the Crusaders in the 15th century, it had the view of harbor and the marina. The castle grounds include a Museum of Underwater Archeology and entertains many cultural festivals year long.
KOS ISLAND Kos Island is a really worth-going place. The father of medicine, Hippocrates’ being from this area is one of the reason the Kos Island became a learning center. The third largest island of the Dodecanese, it’s a very green island with an superb substructure and large roads lined up with tall palm trees. While you’re visiting the Kos Island, you must absolutely visit the ancient ruins of the city that are numerous and extraordinary. The ruins of 'Asklipios", the 'Castle of the Knights'and the big tree of Hippocrates (trunk diameter is 11,5 meters!). On Kos Island you will find some of the most beautiful beaches in the Dodecanese islands of Greece. With many archaeological places in and around the village, Kos is the ideal place for walking or cycling. The mainstay of the Kos is tourism. First thing people notice in Kos is generally its stunning and calm beaches. It has a lot of whitewashed buildings, numerous hotels, restaurants, cafes and many nightclubs forming the “barstreet”. And also, in classic mythology, it was known as the island which visited by Heracles.
DAY – 2 LEROS ISLAND, PSERIMOS ISLAND Leros is an island with a very healthy climate for people and ideal for a quiet holiday. Evergreen, with many inviting bays and stunning sandy beaches, Leros frees the visitor with its serene landscape. Not very crowded, the main port of Lakki is one of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture in Greece. It was designed by Mussolini's architects in 1923 and although in rebelliousness of the dictator's wishes, the capital was moved above the village of Platanos afterwards.
The rest of the island is lush with fascinating beaches and large coves. We will sail away to Pserimos Island early in the early morning. Pserimos is an isle positioned among Kos and Kalymnos, about six maritime miles northern Kos and close to the Turkish seashore. The island is a popular destination for visitors who come from Kos or Kalymnos on small tour boats or pirate-type tourist ships that arrive daily during the summer. Pserimos offers a good day out for those who wishing to avoid crowded beaches of Kos or Kalymnos but the beach, though large, can get crowded once all the day trip boats arrive. The beach is large, deep, very sandy with shallow waters well sheltered in the deep cove and lined with beachside ginmills and cafes that catch the daily trade. There is a small harbor for boat berthing. There's not much to see alongside the single sandy beach though roads lead over the rocky treeless hills to small bays.
DAY – 3 LIPSI ISLAND Lipsi is a liliputian island surrounding with white-washed houses and mini churches with blue domes where you can travel to with Turkyacht Gulets For Sale. DAY – 4 PATMOS ISLAND Known as the Aegean’s Jerusalem, Patmos Island is known as Christians’ holy Island, where Apocalypse of St. John was written and is a small Greek Island. DAY – 5 IKARIA ISLAND Ikaria island is located in the north-eastern Aegean Sea, among the islands of Samos and Patmos. According to the Greek Mythology, Icarus, a mythical figure with wax wings, fell into the sea and was drowned, while flying near to the sun. The island was therefore named after him. Ikaria island has a rich past, which can be seen in the Byzantine and Roman archeological ruins. The Castle of Koskina built in the 11th century A.D, during the Byzantine reign, is found on top of a mountain peak. Inside the castle is the church of Saint George. Drakano Fortress is another fine example of the island's military past. It was built by the Athenians, during the time of Alexander the Great. This 44 foot high limestone military fortification served as observation point for traffic in the Aegean Sea.
The tourists can also find the remains of a Byzantine Odeon (small theatre) in Kampos village, used by noblemen in ancient times for musical and theatrical events. The Roman baths of Therma also deserve a visit. During the Roman times, hot spring water with curative properties flowed out and people cured themselves of their diseases by bathing in it. After an earthquake, the Therma springs of Ikaria island stopped working and the city slid under the sea.
The remains are visible with snorkeling in the region. Nearby, along the tourists can follow a paved path that leads them to an active hot water spring, from which the hot water with healing properties flows out into the sea. They can bath in it to cure themselves, of any rheumatic or skin disease. In Nas, visitors can also explore the remains of an ancient temple of Goddess Artemis built around the 6th century B.C.For nature lovers, the island is a paradise. DAY – 6 MYKONOS ISLAND One of the most popular destinations in Greece, this island is known for the lively nightlife and the gorgeous beaches. The most popular ones are: Golden Beach, Kolimbithres, Parasporos, Santa Maria, Pounda and more... Paros Island also has marvellous villages. The island's capital, Parikia, is a charming town with many activities clustered there. The second most important town of the island is Naoussa which is known for its cosmopolitan life and as one of the most beautiful of Greece. Paros is famous for its nightlife, coming third in the Cyclades, in terms of entertainment, after Mykonos and Ios. Many many of bars and night clubs can be found in Parikia, and in Naoussa.
DAY – 8 NAXOS ISLAND Naxos is a hilly island. It has many pretty and unique towns with white-painted houses, narrow bright colored windows and doors and slate or tile roofs like: Apiranthos, Apollonas, Halki, Potamia, Koronos, Tripodes and others. The capital of the island, Hora, is a big and unique village in Greece. It has a well-protected Venetian castle and it is full of beautiful white-paintedhouses with small windows, surrounded by stone-paved narrow alleyways. More than 98 kilometres of fine golden sandy beaches are surrounding the beautiful island of Naxos in Greece. All beaches have amazing glassy turquoise waters which are glimmering under the bright Mediterranean sun. Umbrellas, sun beds and water sports facilities can be found in some of those heaven-like beaches as well as many stoppvers. Here are some of the most popular: Agios Prokopios, Plaka, Agia Anna, Mikri Vigla, Sahara, Saint Georgios... Some of the beaches offer the best breeze conditions for the practising of windsurfing and kite surfing. Some other are a heaven for snorkeling.
DAY – 9 IRAKLIA ISLAND Iraklia has two towns: Panagia, positioned in the middle of the island, and Agios Georgios, which also serves as the main port. Both these towns have traditional architecture but Agios Georgios is more touristic developed, as it provides some rooms for you to rent and a couple of nice porthouses. Iraklia has many lovely beaches around its shoreline. Some of these beaches can be accessed by foot, while others are more remote, so tourists will need to take the cruise Gulet from the port to go and enjoy some privacy.
The most popular and impressive beach on Iraklia is Livadi, a long golden sandy beach with crystal-clear water on the east side of the island. However, the beach of Agios Georgios gets more popular due to its proximity to the port.
DAY – 10 KOUFUONISIA ISLAND The southwestern shore of Koufonisia has the town of Chora. Here one finds beautiful beaches, good cuisine, good people and so much natural beauty that one cannot help but fall in love with the region. Since fishing is the mainstay of the island, you will get to delight in a lot of fish and other seafood multiplicity here. The beaches of Koufonisia Greece are famous for their incredible beauty, their crystal clear aqua colored water and their unique landscape made of impressive rock formations and caves. Many

DAY– 11 AMORGOS ISLAND The most gripping of the towns of Amorgos Island is Chora, the capital of the island, which is located at an height of 400 metres above the sea. It is a stunning town with a unequaled and uncomperable atmosphere created by the whitepainted houses and windmills, the Venetian castle, the churches, the labyrinth flourished covered alleyways. Amorgos Greece is known for the amazing colors of its beaches in the world wide. It is the reason why the french producer and director Luc Besson chose the place for the star scenes of his movie, "The Big Blue" which took place in this island of Greece. The island provides you desert amazing wricks and sandy beaches. Amorgos has a lively nightlife. It mostly consists of warm little bars, restaurants and a dance club or two. It is clustered in Amorgos Town and the port Karavostasi.
DAY – 12 ASTYPALEA ISLAND Astypalea is one of those secret islands that received few foreign visitors but is popular with Greeks. On this gorgeous island of Astypalea of the Dodecanese, where native traditions are still alive, your vacations will consist of eating lots of fish (imposed by the many fish ginmills of the island). and lots of swimming on perfect deserted bays (yes, they still exist!). When on Astypalea island, do not miss a trip to the capital of Astypalaia, Chora, with its beautiful white – painted houses and a Venetian castle decorates it, and a visit to the windmills,.. as well as the small port of Maltezana, specially between 7 and 9 p.m. when fishermen turn back and sell fish and crayfish straight from their Gulets (get a taste of the local traditional life)…
DAY– 13 KALYMNOS ISLAND Kalymnos Island is best known as the island of some of the world's finest sponge divers. Although Kalymnos is a growing tourist center, you can still see the sponge fishermen working even today and you can still experience the islanders' traditional lifes. On this magnificent island of Kalymnos in the Dodecanese, you can take long and peaceful walks, swim in enjoyful caves, and discover pretty beaches waiting for you and uncorrupted environment, an example of which
is the authentic town of Vathi hidden in a perfect green valley. Due to its hilly view, Kalymnos is also one of the best places for practising mountain climbing! DAY – 14 KARAINCIR, TURGUTREIS Karaincir is a 500 metre stretch of soft golden sand which is great for all the family. The tranquil blue water is invitingly calm, and also offers a number of watersports from banana boats to pedaloes. You can also soak up the relaxed ambience around the beach from one of the many sun loungers made available, whilst sipping on a refreshing drink from one of the venders. Turgutreis, on Turkey’s South coast, is one of the most important places in the Bodrum peninsula’s seaside portfolio. Set among mountains, islands and citrus fruits orchards, this western-facing spot is famous for its sunsets. And it comes with a full of life spread of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, not to mention a contemporaneous marina with modern boutiques and eating places by the water. The beaches are within a impressive beauty. The long strip of coarse sand dips gently into shallow waters, so it’s perfect for children. The Aspat Bay Link and the Venetian castle located atop a hill in Aspat are really worth seeing. There are numerous songs that have been dedicated to this famous castle, seen from far away on the Bodrum peninsula. The famous traveler, Evliya Celebi, mentioned Aspat in his travel book as the place blessed with fresh water. Evliya Celebi also mentions the castle and its famous water source. A narrow footpath leads you up the hill to the ancient ruins of the castle, which was burnt centuries ago, but still bears a unique grandeur. Aspat is among the most popular destinations for boaters. There are many stone houses located on the beach.
