TID Employees Create “Team TID” – the employee based give-back program As an organization, TID is very active in the communities in which we serve. Outside of providing power and irrigation water to the region, our employees represented the District at nearly 80 community-based activities in 2016 alone. Even more impressive than our service as an institution, are the contributions of time and resources regularly given by our employees to organizations and efforts that are personally important to them. From Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts to programs for the elderly, and races for cures to festivals for the whole community, our employees freely giveback in a multitude of ways. Recognizing that an active and engaged community builds a stronger community and fosters a better quality of life for all of us, while also hearing from our employees that they would like the opportunity to engage with their colleagues in an effort to give back, the District responded. The result is Team TID. Team TID was formed by a steering committee of TID employees from throughout the organization, with support and encouragement from TID Leadership. Each year, the group decides on a handful of community-based activities or programs to support, and will assist in organizing the participation of any TID employee who is interested. TID employees are encouraged to submit organizations or events that they would like to see supported by Team TID’s efforts. All TID employees are members of Team TID and are welcome to actively participate. Participation is voluntary and is on your own time. The activities and events selected for Team TID participation represent multiple ways to give back and provide for varying levels of involvement. Some activities will be limited to TID employees only, while others may invite the participation of friends and family. Ultimately, the Team TID committee hopes to provide a broad enough range of opportunities that everyone will be motivated to participate.
Go, Team TID!
