UPDATE to TID Guidelines for the Use of Face Coverings Thursday, June 18, 2020 the State of California released guidance on the use of face coverings. On November 30, 2020 the State of California and CalOSHA issued a mandate which updated this guidance. A detailed description of how this affects TID employees – those in the field, in the office and working from home – is listed below. TID has Personal Protective Equipment (masks, gloves, safety glasses) available to all employees. Please contact your Manager if you are in need of PPE. The following are the guidelines TID requires for the use of masks or face coverings: While in a TID office, face coverings will be worn while: Working in or walking through common areas, such as hallways, stairways, elevators, breakrooms, conference rooms, parking facilities, your own cubical, etc. Walking with co-workers or visiting with co-workers Face coverings are not required: In a room, working by yourself (such as a closed door office, or building with no other staff present. (However, you should always be prepared to put on a face covering/mask when you approach others or when others enter the space.) While working within the walls of your office (alone) (Once you leave the confines of your personal office, you should be prepared to wear your mask/face covering at all times.) Those employees working in the field will wear masks/face coverings: When directly interacting with a customer or the public. When interacting with other District employees and social distancing cannot be observed, including those in your same crew or cohort. When traveling together in the same vehicle. Distribution of Masks: If your job duties or work environment require you to wear a mask(s), please contact your Supervisor.
