Our goal for our first week is to welcome all campers and get to know our new friends. Campers will participate in multiple team-building activities to help them ease into camp, and rules and expectations will be explained. Our bowling trip to Irvine Lanes will be a great opportunity for the campers to start their summer off right! Whales, sea lions, and dolphins, oh my! During this exciting week campers will take a boat ride from Newport Harbor to see migrating whales and other sea life. Other trips include Aquarium of the Pacific and Color Me Mine. Discovery Science Center will come to campus this week for a science presentation and hands-on ocean fossil activity. This week we will be celebrating our beautiful nation. Campers can visit Angel Stadium for a baseball game - America’s favorite pastime! Our entire camp will venture to The Irvine Spectrum to catch the latest must watch summer movie. Bricks 4 Kidz will be onsite for fun math and physics demonstrations using Lego bricks. Summer is all about spending time outdoors! This week our Squirts will visit Irvine Regional Park and hop “all-aboard” the park train. They will also visit the park’s nature center and ride trotting ponies. Honus and Crushes will go to Laser Quest for a few action-packed games of laser tag! Other outdoor trips include the Santa Ana Zoo and a fun hike. Staying active is what we do best here at camp. Squirts will visit Wildfire Gymnastics for plenty of fun on trampolines and tumble tracks. Honus and Crushes will burn off their energy while jumping on gigantic inflatables at Pump It Up. The week will end with optional visits to a Pirates Adventure Interactive Show and Build-A-Bear! This week is sure to be a favorite for all the foodies in our camp! Squirts will visit CPK and create their own pizza from scratch as well as get a behind-the-scenes tour of the restaurant. Honus will visit Creamistry where they will not only create their own ice cream, but will learn how science plays a big role when it comes to freezing their icy treat. Crushes will visit the amazing ChocXO for a live demonstration on how chocolate is made. No summer is complete without plenty of water! Our Honus and Crushes will visit Adventure Playground in Huntington Beach for a messy, muddy, and fun excursion. Squirts will visit Sigler’s Park Splash Pad, a child-friendly water park. Other optional water-packed trips include Buccaneer’s Cove and Knott’s Soak City! This week is filled with intriguing trips! We start the week by visiting The Reptile Zoo - home to over 100 exotic animals. Next is ZOOMARS, a petting zoo where children will get opportunities to hold and feed different animals throughout the zoo. The week concludes with a visit from Gamez on Wheelz, a comfortable and hip limo-style theater where kids will play the latest video games. Who’s ready for an extreme week at camp? This awesome week is filled with excursions that are perfect for thrill seekers. Campers will go to Big Air where they can literally bounce off the walls, ride a mechanical bull, enjoy a friendly battle of gladiator duel, and so much more! Other trips include Medieval Times, Funtopia, and Knott’s Berry Farm. Summer excitement continues at Turtle Rock! Crushes will visit the beautiful Newport Beach Back Bay to kayak and paddle board. Honus and Squirts will visit the Discovery Science Center and explore the new exhibitions such as the Helicopter Tour and Water Gallery. Campers can also visit Rockreation, an indoor rock climbing center and Boomers for arcade fun and outdoor amusement park rides. We’ve jammed a lot of fun into the last two days of camp! We start this short week by taking a trip to the “Happiest Place on Earth”, Disneyland! Camp concludes with a trip to Irvine’s Mason Park for a farewell BBQ and fun team games.

For some of our youngest campers, this may be their first time at camp. We find that offering lots of onsite activities and easing them into select offsite age appropriate field trips helps build their confidence to experience each adventure to its fullest.

A word from our Coordinator: I’m excited for Squirts to have their first camp experience at Turtle Rock! Squirts are our youngest group, but they always seem to show such enthusiasm about their new adventures throughout the summer. I look forward to creating wonderful summer memories with them and can’t wait to see the new friendships they will build! r Jasmin De La Cueva, Camp Coordinato

Irvine Lanes Bowling A fun group trip for our Squirts to meet other campers and build new friendships at camp.

Whale Watching An unforgettable trip where children will get an opportunity to see migrating whales. Other beautiful ocean animals we may see include sea otters, sea lions, and dolphins.

Water Play On Mondays, come in your swimwear and be ready to get wet and wild! We will have water tables, water balloons, and many other fun water-related activities. Staying cool this summer is a must at camp!

Big Air This premiere indoor trampoline park offers high flying fun for campers. Children can experience a rock climbing wall, a friendly dodgeball game on a trampoline, a battle beam, and even have an opportunity to jump into a foam pit!

Take Home Challenges Campers will be given questions and brain-twisting riddles. If they answer the questions correctly, they will earn camp money to spend at our Camp Store.

Gamez on Wheelz Campers will experience the ultimate gaming experience as they play the latest video games in the Gamez on Wheelz comfortable and roomy limo-style theater.

• Each day and week will be a new experience for you and your child. • Check the whiteboard and door daily for updates and information regarding the following day. Parents are also encouraged to also check our website (turtlerocksummercamp.com) for details on upcoming adventures, as well as sign-up for electronic notifications via the Remind app. • Morning Meeting is at 9:00 am (unless there is an early field trip). It is important for your child to be present to know what to expect for the day! • Your child must wear his or her Turtle Rock Summer Camp shirt every day, whether or not he or she participates in a field trip. Campers may leave campus at anytime for impromptu nearby excursions. Please label ALL personal belongings with your child’s name. • Camp Store and Dollars: Your child will earn camp dollars for a variety of reasons: good behavior, good deeds, “Homework” and remembering key facts from field trips and visitor presentations. Every Thursday and Friday, campers will get an opportunity to go to the Camp Store and spend their money, or save it for bigger items the following week. • Beach / Pool / Water Play days are always on Mondays! Your child must come dressed in his or her bathing suit. Towels are needed and water shoes are highly recommended! Sunscreen is required for each camper. Please bring in a bottle with a completed Sunscreen Authorization form. Spray sunscreens are preferred. • “Homework” consists of fun riddles and problem-solving puzzles that are posted on the board every Monday. Campers have until Morning Meeting on Friday to submit them, and earn camp dollars for correct answers. Parent help is okay, but students cannot share answers with other campers or siblings. Homework is always optional.

Full Day 7am - 6pm

$295

Core Day 9am - 4pm

How do I know which age category my child falls into? Children are placed into groups based on their grade level, with exceptions made when appropriate. Squirts: Completed Kindergarten Honus: Completed 1st Grade - Completed 2nd Grade Crushes: Completed 3rd Grade - Completed 4th Grade

Are there any refunds or credits for days that my child is sick or absent? Please notify the office at (949) 854-7611 by 8:00 am if your child will be absent. Unfortunately, camp activities are booked in advance based on the registrations received, so we are unable to provide credits or refunds for days missed due to sickness or for any other reason. Scheduled days may not be switched to non-scheduled days.

What should my child wear to camp each day? Your child must wear his or her Turtle Rock Camp T-Shirt every day and should dress in cool/comfortable summer clothes with closed-toed shoes. Please put sunscreen on your child before arriving in the morning. Complete a Sunscreen Application Authorization Form, available in the office or online, and send a labeled bottle of sunscreen to school for us to re-apply sunscreen later in the day.

What should my child wear and bring to camp on water activity days? On water activity or beach/pool days (indicated on the calendar with a water drop icon ) please send your child to school with a towel, wearing his or her bathing suit, and with sunscreen already applied. Rash guards with the Turtle Rock logo are required for any offsite water activity and may be purchased for $18. For better sun protection, we suggest baseball caps or other hats with brims. Your child is required to bring a backpack on these days containing a change of clothes, a towel, and sandals or water shoes. All items must be clearly marked with your child’s name.

What lunch options are available for my camper? A freshly prepared hot lunch is normally available for purchase when campers are onsite. Excursions and field trips occasionally include lunch, or we may ask you to send a sack lunch, or have your child bring cash to purchase lunch. Specific options and instructions are described under each excursion on our registration portal and parents will be reminded via our website and Remind app. If bringing a lunch from home, it must be brought each day in a disposable Ziploc or paper bag (not a lunch box) with your child’s name and the date clearly marked. Snacks are provided by Camp.

What are optional excursions? Onsite visitors and certain standard field trips are included in weekly tuition rates. We also offer certain Premium Optional Excursions for an additional fee that are available on a limited first-come, first-served basis for age-appropriate children. These excursions range in price depending upon the activity. Those not participating will still have a fun-filled day on campus.
