How to Calculate Population Percentage How to Calculate Population Percentage By the term percentage we mean to find the value of the item in the standard scale of 100. We convert the value per 100, if we need to make the scale of comparison equal. We will learn how to calculate a percentage. If we are given any fraction, we need to say that the denominator is to be converted to 100. This we will do by writing the given fraction to its equivalent form, such that the denominator converts to 100. Here are some of the tips for it. If we have the denominator as 10, we will multiply the numerator and the denominator by 10. In case if the denominator is 5, we will multiply the numerator and the denominator by 20. In case the denominator is 25, we will multiply the numerator and the denominator by 4. If we have the denominator as 50, we will multiply the numerator and the denominator by 20.

Sometimes we come across the fraction numbers, where the denominator can not be converted into 100, in such cases to find the percentage, we will multiply the fraction number by 100 and the result which we will get will be in the percentage. Now let us take decimal numbers, we convert them with the denominator of 100, they become the percentage. Now let us see how to calculate the percentage. If we want to find 25 percent of 40, then it simply means : ( 25 / 100) * 40 = 25 * 40 / 100 = 1000 / 100 = 10 This shows that 25 percent of 40 is 10, which is the desired answer. Further we will see that if we need to calculate 50 percent of 60 $ It simply means = 50 / 100 * 60 = 50 * 60 / 100 = 3000 / 100 = 30 $ is the desired number. In some cases, we will calculate the percentage as follows : What percentage of 200 $ is 50$ Here we need to find the result in the form of percentage. So we get : ( 50 / 200 ) * 100

We will first write the value in the form of the fraction and then it will be multiplied by 100 to get the result in the form of the percentage. So we get : ( 50 * 100 ) / 200 = 50 / 2 = 25 percent Thus we will calculate the value of the fraction in the form of the percentage. The percentage of the given value some times comes in the form of the decimal. Here is the example for the same. What percentage is $12 out of $ 35 We can write it in the following form : 12 * 100 / 35 = 12 * 20 / 7 = 240 / 7 = 34. 28 percent is the answer, which is in the form of the decimal number. We come across many real life problems, which can be solved by the applications of percentage. It can be in any field, may it be education, economy, Business, science.
