How to Make a Bar Graph How to Make a Bar Graph Graph and chart plays their important role to demonstrating the records and data in the pictorial manner. By using the concept of graphs and charts user enables to understand the whole story of the given data set which are plotted on the graph. In geometrical mathematics the concept of graphs are used to diagrammatically representing the data over the page. The graphs are widely used in the pictorial representation area of any business meeting of an organization or in many govt. sectors. In real life, the concept of graph and chart act as a great tools because they deliver the information in the visualize form. Sometime, there are some problems occurs to handle the complicated information in real life. So, to overcome from this problem mathematician creates a solution which named as graph. The concept of graphs and charts helps the user to demonstrate the complicated data in quick understandable and visual form. In the mathematics graphs can be categories into various different categories like line graph, PIE chart (sometime called as circle graph) bar graphs, area’s graph and x - y plane graph.

Bar graph is a special kind of mathematical graphs which are popular for representing the several records with in the form of rectangular bars where length of bars is shows the values that they represent. In mathematics rectangular bars of the graph can be plotted either in vertical shape or in horizontal form In the below some of the steps are given to show you How to Make a Bar Graph. (a ) On the graph paper user need to remember one thing that always begin with the labeling of the bar graph by numeric values which starts form zero. Number should be as high as the highest value. In the bar graph evenly space out the numbers to fill the page. (b) In the bar graph all the bars should contains the same width or size. Each bar must be represented by the label and if we put the color in the bar then all color must be different. (c) Graph are formed by two perpendicular lines named as x – axis and y- axis. On the x- axis and y-axis put the label to tell what all the bars represent. Also give the title to the graph what the graph actually about or what it is actually representing. (d) At the final step plot the data values in the upper right hand corner of the graph and label it. Example: Suppose in college Ron studying in science department. In the result of first mid exam Ron got the marks in different subject out of 100. Now we have to make bar graphs that represent the marks of Ron on the graph? The marks are given in Physics 85 marks, Math’s 90 marks, Science 92 marks, chemistry 85 marks Solution: In the first step we need to visualize the minimum and maximum value of the bar graph at the y- axis to plot on the lines.

The minimum value is 10 and maximum value is 100. Now put the subject title on the x-axis plane. Write the different subject name on the lines of x- axis. At last we put the bars on the graph according to the marks of the different subject. Note: 1. All bars have the same thickness. 2. Distance between two consecutive bars is the same. The bars can touch each other. 3. The height of each bar represents the frequency number of students. 4. The thickness has no significance. 5. Bar graphs are preferred when each item of data is separate from the other.
