Perimeter of a Rectangle Formula Perimeter of a Rectangle Formula In mathematics, we can define the Geometry as a collection of various types of geometrical figure and shapes which is used for completing the various types of tasks, which are related to the concepts of mathematics. In the Euclidean geometry, a rectangle can be considered as a quadrilateral that contains the four right angles. In the mathematical term, the rectangle can be called as equiangular quadrilateral. It can also be defined as a parallelogram that contains four right angles. The Rectangle word comes from the Latin word ‘rectangulas’ which is a combination of two words ‘rectus’ and ‘angulus’. The word ‘rectus’ refers to right and the ‘angulus’ refers to angle. In the mathematical terms we can define the rectangle as the geometrical shape which looks similar to the shape of square. It is most commonly known as quadrilateral. It is also defined as the shape of geometry with the four interior angles of 90degree. In the Rectangular shape all the opposite sides are similar to each other. Know More About Population Vs Sample Math.Tutorvista.com

Here in the below we show you some of the properties of rectangle that helps in understanding the concept of rectangle: (a ) All the Opposite sides of the rectangle are congruent and parallel to each other. (b ) The diagonals of the rectangular shape are bisecting to each other. (c )

The diagonals of the rectangles are intersecting at the central point of the rectangle.

Here we are going to discussing about the perimeter of the rectangle formula. First of all we are going to discussing about the perimeter of the rectangle. The perimeter of the rectangle can be defined as a distance around the outside the shape of the rectangle. As we describe that the shape of rectangle contains four equal sides that have two pair of opposite sides that are equal to each other. It means to say that in the rectangle parallel sides are equal to each other. A rectangle has four sides with opposite sides that are being congruent. To calculate the perimeter of the rectangle, we need to add the value of all four sides. The formula for calculating the perimeter of the rectangle can be calculated by adding all the pairs of the rectangle that are equal to each other. In the below we show you the formula for calculating the perimeter of the rectangle: Perimeter of a Rectangle Formula is: 2 * (length + breathe) The above notation shows that addition of the length and breathes of the rectangle and after that multiplies the resulted addition with the two. Now we show you some of the example that helps in understanding the formula for calculating the perimeter of the rectangle: Learn More Sample Population Math.Tutorvista.com

Example: Suppose Harry has a piece of land and he wants to develop a boundary around the land. The land is in shape of rectangle that has length of 5 meter and the value of breathe is 4 meter. The cost for developing a boundary is $3 @ per meter. Now we need to calculate the total cost of developing a boundary? Solution: In the above given question the length of rectangle is = 5 meter The breathe of the rectangle is = 3 meter So, the perimeter of the rectangular land is = 2 * (length + breathe) = 2 * (5 + 3 ) = 16 meter Now, the total cost of developing a boundary is = 16 * $ 3 = $ 48
