Rational Expressions Calculator Rational Expressions Calculator Rational Expression, as a name specifies that it is a form of rational number which contains the polynomial values in the form of numerator and denominator values. Rational expression is formed by the two words rational and expression. Rational is a type of number system, which represents the integer values in the form of numerator and denominator. These are the special kind of number which represent the integer value like ‘w’ and ‘x’ in the form of fraction as w / x, here one thing need to be remember that the value of x must be greater than zero. In the same aspect we can say expression is a finite collection of mathematical symbol in a well formed manner. So, in the standard definition, we can easily define the rational expression as a number expression where polynomials are representing in numerator and denominator form, where the polynomial value of denominator must not be equal to zero.

In the mathematical notation, rational expression can be described as with two given values like w (x) and u (x) as: w (x) / u (x), here the value of u (x) not equal to 0. In the above notation, w (x) can be called as numerator value and in the same aspect u (x) can be called as denominator value of the rational expression. One thing need to remember that the expression w (x) / u (x) need not be a polynomial value. Here we are going to discussing about rational expressions calculator. Rational expression calculator is a calculator which is used for solving the problem that is related to solving the rational expressions. To use the rational expression calculator we need to follow the some of the steps that are given follow: 路

First perform the factorization of the polynomial values like w(x) and u(x).

After that find the HCD (highest common divisor) w(x) and u(x) polynomial values.

There are two conditions occurred that are:

1) If in case the HCD has the value which is equal to the value one then we can say that the given expression w(x) / u(x) are in lowest terms. 2) If in case the HCD has the value which is not equal to the value one then we need to perform the division of numerator w(x) and denominator u(x) by the obtained value of HCD. Now we show you the process of solving the rational expression by the help of rational expression calculator by the following given example:

Example: There is an rational expression given, now we need to solve the expression by reducing them into its lowest term? w (a) / u (a) = a2 – 5a – 6 / a2 + 3a + 2 Solution: In the above question given that there is an rational expression a2 – 5a – 6 / a2 + 3a + 2 then; w (a) = a2 – 5a – 6 then; w (a) = (a – 6) (a + 1) In the same aspect the factorization of u(a) will be; u(a) = a2 + 3a + 2 u(a) = (a + 2) (a + 1) Now we need to find out the HCD of both values that will be equals to the (a + 1) then; w (a) / u (a) = (a – 6) (a + 1) / (a + 2) (a + 1) Then a resultant value is: w (a) / u (a) = (a – 6) / (a + 2).
