Tiffin University knows that every student is an individual, with individual needs. In the event that a student requires mental health counseling and/or referral services, we are available with the real resources and connections to help. It is our goal to provide support and hope through challenging circumstances.

TU’s Counseling and Wellness Center is dedicated to addressing the emotional and mental health needs of students at Tiffin University. We are available with resources and connections to help. Our caring staff provides free counseling using a short-term model. Face-to-face and virtual counseling appointments are available to any current TU student who is registered for seated classes. TU Counseling Services will attempt to meet our students’ needs through shortterm, brief-solution focused therapy. The length and number of sessions will be determined by the clinician’s expertise and availability.

The following are some student concerns that counselors often address: • Homesickness/adjustment to college • Relationship issues • Study skills enhancement and time management • Strategies to overcome loneliness, anxiety, depression and test anxiety • Campus life or roommate concerns • Coping with stress using relaxation techniques • Communication and social skills • Sexual information or pregnancy concerns • Alcohol and drug abuse concerns • Decision making strategies • Coping with death or divorce
