First Destination Overview
The First Destination Survey, along with guiding principles, standards and protocols, was created by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) in 2012.
Definition of “Graduating Class”
For the First Destination Survey, a graduating class is defined as students graduating between July 1 and June 30 each year. Therefor, Class of 2022-2023 consists of graduates from:

December 2022
April 2023
Knowledge Rate
The targeted knowledge rate that institutions should strive for should be a minimum of 65%.
Timeline for Data Collection
Data should be collected prior to graduation through December 31st of that year For example, for the Class of 2023-2024, we will collect data from before graduation to December 31, 2024. Data for the Class of 2022-2023 was collected slightly later than typical.
Comparison Data
In this report, there are comparisons between TU data and national data. The “National Data” referred to here is from the NACE December 2023 report on the Class of 2022 and is a compilation of FDS data from 344 schools across the nation.
