the executive board welcomes you Welcome to Cal Poly’s American Marketing Association, On behalf of the membership and the Orfalea College of Business, we’d like to extend you a very warm welcome to the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo collegiate chapter of the American Marketing Association! As your Executive Board, we’re delighted to have you as a member and congratulate you on taking the initiative to further your marketing education by being a part of this valuable organization. Your experience, both personally and professionally, in AMA is very important to all of us on the Executive Board. Please take this opportunity to learn a bit about our club and how you can make the most from your membership. And, as always, if you have a suggestion or comment about something the club can improve on, or something you’d like to see happen through AMA, we encourage you to talk with any of the Executive Board Members. We cannot emphasize enough that AMA is a club designed for all of us to enjoy and benefit from, and many activities and aspects of our organization were enacted by suggestion from AMA members. Upon membership acceptance, you received an AMA T-shirt. We encourage you to wear it with pride at every AMA meeting and event to not only raise awareness of AMA on campus and in the community, but to show that you are a member of a world-class organization and are one of the premier marketing students at Cal Poly. In addition, you will receive Membership Points every time you wear your AMA T-shirt to an AMA meeting or event. The AMAers who achieve the most points are recognized at the end of each quarter and are awarded valuable prizes. There are many ways to earn points, including working in one of the several committees within AMA to further your AMA experience. Be sure to also explore the greater National American Marketing Association, online at www.marketingpower.com, where you’ll find a wealth of information and professional insight about the marketing industry. Unlimited access is included with your Cal Poly collegiate membership. Again, congratulations on your membership to the Cal Poly American Marketing Association, and we look forward to learning and succeeding with you! Best Regards,

The Executive Board

Social Events Our social events committee consists a group of dedicated and fun students who love to plan events, and get a unique opportunity to create, and execute their own ideas. At our meetings, members pass off ideas to each other, and then report to the Director of Social Events, and the Vice President of Outreach, who both give them the tools to implement their ideas. Some skills learned are how to create action plans, agendas, proposals, and even advertisements.
