the Jagannätha temple in Puré. This was an enormous task, a massive undertaking, however, he reasoned that if his spiritual master wanted it, then he would have to do it to the best of his ability.

He went to the government offices, and somehow, by Kåñëa’s mercy, he established a friendship with an architect/engineer. He asked him, “Please help me; my Guru Mahäräja requires me to do this. I am going to Hyderabad to see him, and he has asked me to, ‘come with a plan and estimate’. He wants to build a Jagannätha temple, one as good as the Jagannätha Puré temple!” The architect said, “Oh, that is a herculean task! It will take some time to make the plan and do the estimate for such a huge building as the Jagannätha Temple and a great deal of funds are required!”
Çréla Gurudeva had no money, and within a week, he was supposed to be going to Hyderabad for a meeting with Çréla Prabhupäda. He said to the architect, “My spiritual master has written me a letter, you are a great person, a famous architect, can’t you do something to help me? Please give me something, some rough estimate, anything. Please help me. I am leaving to see my spiritual master in less than one week.” “All right, all right,” said the architect. “I will do something. I will help you.”
Within two days, the architect made a draft and some sketches from the Jagannätha temple and he presented some estimates of the cost. It came to crores of rupees.
