Rotary club of Kingscliff President Courtney Challinor and duck committee member Rory Curtis FOR the 4th year, the Rotary Club of Kingscliff will hold their annual Duck Race and Stand up Paddle event on the 15th of November at Ed Parker Rotary Park Kingscliff along Cudgen Creek. Rotary Club President Courtney Challinor said ‘community support for the race has really taken off over the past 3 years and our club is thrilled to of received support from Major sponsors Twin Towns Services Club, James Frizelles automotive, Service NSW, Tweed City Shopping centre and Tweed Fitness Club.’ Fun on the day will start from 10.30am with a Stand Up Paddle Board race consisting of an opens division, over 45’ and over 55’s. This will be followed by the corporate duck race which has now being expanded to include a PRO division where people are encouraged to not only dress their ducks up but they can add sails, floats, balloons or even motors to make
it as fast as possible. Our last event of the day will the famous community duck race where over 1000 little ducks will race for the chance to win a NEW VW car from James Frizelles, so make a day of it and bring the family. 100% of funds raised go to local charities and Rotary projects. You can pre order the BIG corporate ducks and smaller community online or visit The Good Guys at Sth Tweed. Ducks will also be sold on the day if they have not already being sold out prior. Come on down to Cudgen Creek on the 15th and see BIGGEST inflatable duck in northern NSW. The 3m tall bright yellow QUACKER will be on display and organisers are hoping for light winds otherwise this duck might take flight. For more information visit: www.rotaryduckrace.com.au
