They say most businesses struggle at least a year before they begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel. As of December of 2010, Twenty4Seven Magazine has been in business 1 full year. During the past year, we’ve been through a little bit of everything, both positive and negative. However, most of our feedback has been positive and I think that is because we have a product that is “undeniable”. My team and I strive for greatness in everything we do but sometimes “Just get it done” clashes with “Everything else”. I, in particular am VERY meticulous about my product regardless of whether it is my music, photography, or my design work. I’m an ARTIST and I do what an ARTIST does. This can be both a gift and a curse, given the situation but people like myself aim to create works that are timeless, sometimes sacrificing “Turn Around Time” in the process. Sorry, I can’t help it. However, I am pushing to find some common ground. With that being said, welcome to our “1 Year Anniversary/Super Bowl XLV” Edition. What up Dallas? We’re In the building! I’m neutral about this year’s bowl. I’m from Naptown baby! We bleed blue over here! See you next year!

Teen rap star sensation Yung Ro is showing no signs of stopping his dreams of becoming one of today’s top rap artist and business man. Despite being shot by a stray bullet this past November at a St. Louis nightclub, he is still going strong with his many up and coming projects. Being shot inspired him to write the song “Glass Shattered”, which gives a deeper look into what Yung Ro was going through at the time of his injury. He is currently putting the final touches on his fourth album “Ideology of a Trendsetter” (released Summer 2011) and plans to start filming the music video for the single “Candy Gurl” in February. “Candy Gurl” inspired Yung Ro to create “Hood Classic Candy”; a trendy graphic t-shirt line for young ladies. This video will be dedicated to 17 year old Precious, who was gun downed this past Christmas; Yung Ro was her favorite rapper. It will feature different elements from ‘Willy Wonky and the Chocolate Factory’ and candies named after the victim. Not only is Yung Ro a fresh face in the rap scene, he also takes part as CEO of Black Pearl Entertainment and is chairman of his youth program Runaway 2 Empowerment, named after his single “Runaway Chick”. The youth program was designed to help shed a more positive light on the St. Louis teen community, in hopes that the media will begin to focus on the positive instead of the negative. Yung Ro is aspiring to be the voice of his peers and is taking a stand for his community for all the right reasons. He has accomplished much in the closing of 2010, from charting the Billboard single chart twice, winning a historical 5 awards at the Radio_One Traffic Music Awards, nominated for best new artist by Riverfront Times, awarded Hottest Male Artist at the HotList Awards (August 2010) and having 3 singles in rotation. (Donk Dat, Fresha Den a Mall and Candy Gurl) This is a huge turnaround for Yung Ro, he is gaining national attention from VladTV and World Star Hip Hop due to his successes and is working on a movie role for the remake of ‘Superfly’. BET selected him to be host for their show “Create Summit”, a spinoff from “Teen Summit”. There’s even talk about a possible PBS line-up. JUAN
DOLLAR
What is hip hop? To Juan Dollar it’s more than a catchy hook and banging beats, hip hop is a story, a story Juan Dollar is more than willing to share. A Cincinnati, Ohio native and “rapper” for about 8 years, Juan has developed a personal relationship with his many fans and supporters in spite of his incarceration of 7 years shortly after he began recording. The loss of his brother and cousin forced him to provide for family by any means necessary but his trials and tribulations motivated him more and now he is back to doing what he loves most which is music. Since Juan’s release no time has been wasted to get the ball rolling. As CEO of Global Warning Entertainment, his much anticipated debut album should be released sometime this year along with another mixtape titled “Test Drive”. His music is a reflection of the things he’s been through, a message people in and out of the streets or music lovers in general, can relate to. These are real life experiences, composed with lyrical content which would make him more of an “author” rather than an artist. Juan is influenced by Jay Z; someone he would like to work with, 2 Pac, R. Kelly and N.W.A. With a new year underway, Juan Dollar is keeping his focus on networking, touring, developing an empire, maintain close interaction with supporters and promoting his work. Here’s a few words Juan said about his music and the type of “author” he is:
Photography: Brightwood Entertainment
“Making the CD was really simple, all I did was tell my story (true stories no script). I am not a rapper I am an “author”, composing my stories in lyrical content. Whether you agree or disagree, every song is a page out of my life (non-fiction literature). The recordings were parallel [to] my moods. If I was in a spending mood you had songs like “STUNTIN ZONE”, flossing mood “40 ON DA BRACELET” and If I was feeling the pressures of the world, “SHINEABILITY” & “NO SCRIPT”. M.V.P is the first chapter of my lyrical book, inviting the world into the life of Juan Dollar!” M.V.P. is Juan’s first mixtape but won’t be his last. He is not proud of some of things he’s done but he can’t change the past. He is moving on to the next level fulfilling his dreams and using his hardships as a footstool for success. You are from Cincinnati, correct? Describe the music scene there. Yes. The music scene in Cincinnati needs a boost to showcase the very talented artists in and around the city. I don’t believe the artists here have gotten their “just due” and I’m prepared to help provide the necessary exposure. What is “Vito’s”? Vito’s is one of Cincinnati’s home-based clubs. I will have been spinning there for 11 years in June 2011. It’s a “25 and Up” venue and if you haven’t been there, you are definitely missing out. It’s a brand new experience. It’s different because its actually a bar, but when I’m on the tables, it turns into something else. You’ll never come to anything like it anywhere else. I’m in there Tues nights. Ladies are free until midnight. Each Tues, we’re doing about 600-700 people, easy. Describe your mixing style. What do you think separates you from the rest? My mix is straight being gifted to do so. Freestyle I don’t practice my show it comes to me from a deep imbedded feeling that I have inside of me. These days, it seems everyone wants to be a rapper. As a music connoisseur, what advice would you to give to aspiring artists? Never quit and be open to constructive criticism, especially from DJs. Who are your favorite artists, by the way? Ne-yo, The Dream, Diddy, and Jay-Z because of their artistic talents and high level business sense. Are you affiliated with any DJ coalitions? Crank Team, Amplified Hustlers, and Heat Spinner DJ’s Other than DJ’ing, what other businesses are you involved in? I’m the owner of a janitorial/cleaning service, as well as the General Manager of a Custom Jewelry Store. We hear you have a group under you. Tell us a little about them. The group name is “Tripzup”. “Tripzup” is the next super boys group that brings a fresh high-level performance and sound that will satisfy their fans expectations. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? In 5 years, I’ll be a critical entertainment source, recognized throughout the entertainment industry, coming straight out of the Mid-West. Tell us something about yourself that most don’t know. I’m a Go-Getter aka Hustler. How can people contact you for business? Contact my management: Mark (513) 652- 8495 Email: mgivensm@aol.com Who are you going with in the Super Bowl? Its got to be “Green Bay”, Bro. Any last words? Do you think having a West Coast background will increase your chances of gaining mainstream success? I’m originally from Oklahoma but I live on the West Coast now. I’ve been putting my music career in my own hands by flying to different cities and working with the hottest in those cities. I believe that I am successful without the mainstream success because all the money goes to me. Do you have any major artist collaborations on your album? Yes. I’ve worked with everyone from E40 to Baby Bash, Lil Rob to Lazie Bone and many more on the new album “ONE HUNNED PERCENT”. What separates you from the hundreds if not more, artists in this industry? The difference is some artist only know the 10%;, which is the music. I accomplished a lot more with the other 90%, which is the business side. Do you think being an independent artist is a better career move? Yes. Being independent allows me to keep all my masters and be able to push my merchandise freely without someone telling me how I should run my career. Name one way you will bring change to music game? As far as change, the game changes every quarter, so I love to be ahead of the game when it does change and be a part of it. I’m at all conventions, conferences, DJ Retreats etc.
Words By Krystal Luster One Hunned is more than a rapper from Oklahoma. He takes pride in his independence and entrepreneurship business savvy in everything he has accomplished and will succeed at in the future. With a well established airbrushing company and a cliental of big names in the game, it was a sure fit for One Hunned to get people talking about him. Here’s a little more about the man who is so “One Hunned”. Who is One Hunned and why should people be paying attention? One Hunned is an Entrepreneur/Artist that been pushing his music since 16. What are some of your singles? Singles would be “Check Out my Swag” Feat. Jay-Z. What is your current single being promoted right now? Working on new single with Baby Bash & Lil Rob. Song is called “Like a Drummer” and also E40 and Lazie Bone called “A Game”. As an independent artist, there is a lot of buzz coming from you. What has been your biggest highlight so far? Biggest highlight is probably being on tour with LowRider Magazine, Dub Magazine, and World of Dance Tour, also Filming Feature Film “Cruisin” in Bakersfield. TWENTY4SEVEN MAGAZINE

People say you’re more than just a rapper? What else can your fans associate with your name? I actually have a couple stores that provide an Airbrush service, which is the biggest company in the West Coast. I’ve done work for Hugh Heffner, Tyson, Kendra, Travis Barker and Soulja Boy just to name a few. That helped with boosting my status. If you had to choose between rapping and business which would you choose first? My first choice would be business because without it, my music would not be as popular as it is. Is there more to come in the future? The future will be more of what I’m doing, because I feel I’ve accomplished everything I wanted already. Now it’s all fun and I get to enjoy what I do. How can you be contacted? They can contact me on the following: Facebook: Onehunned Bouriyaphon Twitter/1hunnedpercent Myspace.com/one-handed YouTube/onehunned Last words? “Be ONE HUNNED with everything you do & success is in your own hands, God Bless.” TWENTY4SEVEN MAGAZINE

Words By El Riquo Photography: Brightwood Entertainment
Model “Nikki Sweets” is becoming equally known for her ample assets as well as her wild tattoos. The Chicago native now resides in Indianapolis and is desitined for greatness. Here, she opens up and tells all. You’ve been featured in a few magazines and on a few websites, becoming a “sex symbol” overnight. How has the experience been overall? I love it because it’s always been what I’ve wanted. Did you ever think this would be happening to you? Honestly, I did. I knew if I pushed myself, I’d be ok. How long have you been modeling? I’ve been modeling for about 4 years. What do you consider to be your sexiest body part? I would say my legs. Lol, I expected you to say your booty. It caught my attention and I’m sure it catches other people’s as well. Do you ever feel like having a lot of booty causes too much attention for you? No, every girl wants people to look at and admire their bodies. If they say they don’t, they’re lying. What is the most outlandish thing a man has ever said to you? I don’t recall. The majority of them say dumb, nasty stuff. You also attract people’s attention with your tattoos. How many do you have and how many do you plan to get? Which is your favorite thus far? I have about 15, counting the “Cover Ups” and all. I definitely plan on getting more. I want a whole second sleeve. My favorite tattoo of mine is the one of “Bob Marley” on my leg. So, being that you’re a “sex symbol”, lets get to what I think the fellas (and even some ladies) would like to know. Do you enjoy porn and if so, do you have any preference for any porn star in particular? I would say “Pinky”. I watch her regularly, lol. What would you say to her if you met her? I actually have met her. It was cool, but I don’t think she really liked me though because we both had pink hair at the time we met. Wow. I’ll leave that alone. Would you ever do porn? Hell no! I support them but I personally could never actually do it. Are you a sexual person and how do you feel about “Romance”? I’m a little sexual when I want to be and being romantic is the best. Do you recall the best sex you’ve ever had? Girls dont kiss and tell. Lol, yes they do. At least tell us about the worst sex you’ve ever had? Ha!!! Now, why would I even want to remember something like that? Have you ever been with another women? If so, which is your preference, male or female? Both, but I LOVE women, Lol. So other than having a pretty face with a sexy body to match, what else do you have going on? I’m going to school this year to study business and working on some of my own projects. I have something up my sleeve. Stay tuned. What is the biggest goal you’ve set for yourself? To be the best I can be. How do you feel about females taking the “Karrine Steffans” approach to business and do you feel women have a disadvantage when it comes to progressing in the business world? I’ll never knock anyone’s hustle. I don’t believe we are at disadvantage because p***y rules everything. You all just don’t see it. If you could work with any artist in the industry, who would it be? Trey Songz! Yuuuup ! Lol, I love him! If anyone reading this knows him, hook me up! How can fans and potential clients reach you? They can contact me via twitter @Mz_Nikkisweets. My my email is flanagannikki@yahoo.com. I am also featured on www.urbanink.com in “Pinups” section archives.
