CUTTING EDGE : AUTUMN FOREWORD
Welcome to the latest edition of Cutting Edge As the price of oil gradually starts to increase, there’s a renewed positivity that can be felt across the industry. Times have been tough but by collaborating and working in partnership with others, companies have found ways to make it through another challenging year. At TWMA, we’ve focused on our tailored, sustainable solutions to find the most cost effective and efficient ways of working for our customers. The Middle East has remained a very busy and important region for us, especially as we recently reached some fantastic health and safety milestones. Our team in Abu Dhabi reached one million hours with zero LTIs and in Egypt, the team recently reached an incredible five years incident free. Our Egypt operations have been active for 10 years and it’s thanks to our hardworking, diligent teams that we can celebrate these impressive achievements. Last month we exhibited for the third time at ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi, one of the world’s top three oil and gas events. This year, we did something a bit different to showcase our specialist environmental solutions, as our stand featured augmented reality technology which truly brought our technology to life.
We will also be proudly displaying our ADNOC Company & Contractor Partnership Award which we won earlier this year in partnership with ESNAAD-PJS, in recognition of our integrated drilling waste management service on the ZADCO artificial islands. Not only was this a fantastic achievement, but in October we were also shortlisted in the Best Oil & Gas HSE Project or Initiative category at this year’s ADIPEC awards. TWMA has built a strong relationship with ESNAAD-PJS and ZADCO over the years and these awards further strengthen our track record in the Middle East, as we continue to expand and grow the business in this key region. As we draw towards the end of another challenging year, it’s important to note that progress is slowly but surely being made across the industry. Market conditions are beginning to improve and I’m proud that TWMA has remained resilient throughout this difficult time and ensured that our solutions and our dedicated teams continue to add maximum value to our customers’ operations across the globe.

The category recognises an outstanding partnership in the implementation of HSE and was awarded to TWMA and ESNAAD-PJS in recognition of our integrated drilling waste management services on all four of the ZADCO artificial islands. CUTTING EDGE : AUTUMN NEWS
TWMA returns to ADIPEC In November, TWMA exhibited for a third year at ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi. Ranked amongst the world’s top three oil and gas events, the exhibition presented a fantastic platform for us to further strengthen our presence in the Middle East and also offered great networking opportunities for us to meet with new and existing customers. We continue to work on a number of major projects in the region with our local partner ESNAAD-PJS – the support services arm of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. We have developed a strong relationship with ESNAAD and work closely together to ensure we deliver operational excellence in the oil and gas industry. ADIPEC once again provided an excellent opportunity for us to build and maintain important relationships with our customers in the Middle East. The event was a great success and a fantastic opportunity for us demonstrate our range of environmental solutions to new and existing customers.
TWMA Shortlisted for ADIPEC Awards 2016 In October, we were delighted to be shortlisted in the Best Oil & Gas HSE Project or Initiative category at this year’s ADIPEC Awards. The shortlisting recognises TWMA’s ongoing partnership with ESNAAD-PJS which provides support to the ZADCO UZ750 project in Abu Dhabi, through delivery of an innovative approach to drilling waste management to improve environmental compliance.

NEWS
Incident Free Milestone Celebrations in Egypt and Abu Dhabi Early last year, we announced that our team in Abu Dhabi reached 500,000 incident free man hours on the ZADCO UZ750 project. We are delighted that the team has just increased this total to one million hours across our Abu Dhabi operation which is a fantastic achievement for all involved. The majority of the incident free man hours were achieved on four artificial islands (North, South, Central and West) and projects on jack-up rigs. The work scope involved a full spread of waste management services including treatment of Non-Aqueous Drilling Fluid drill cuttings, with our TCC RotoMill® technology. Approximately 230 employees are involved in these projects and this milestone is a credit to those working in the field and observing safe practice.

“ TWMA promotes a strong
safety culture throughout everything we do and these milestones underpin our commitment
”
Robbie Pond, General Manager Abu Dhabi, said: “TWMA promotes a strong safety culture throughout everything we do and these milestones underpin our commitment to operating to the highest possible safety standards in all of our operations. 1 million hours is an extremely long period of time with high risk potential and reaching the end of this period with zero Lost Time Incidents demonstrates that the whole team takes safety very seriously. “Keeping our people safe is our first priority and excellent safety practice is regularly highlighted and reinforced to ensure strict processes and procedures are adhered to. We also have a robust safety system in place which ensures that our teams have all necessary equipment required to complete operations to the highest standards without compromising safety.
“It’s thanks to our hard working, dedicated and diligent teams that we can celebrate these achievements and we are extremely proud that our workforce is constantly committed to safety and completing every operation without accident or incident.”

Ten Years in Egypt for TWMA With bases in Alexandria and Cairo, TWMA’s Egypt operations have been active since 2005 and now employs over 50 staff. We spoke to our Egypt General Manager, Abdelrahman Amin, about TWMA’s success in the region over the past ten years. How have TWMA’s Egypt facilities evolved over the last ten years? • Our facilities in Alexandria and Cairo have evolved significantly. We have increased the waste storage and process capacity of the facilities, as well as upgraded our offices, stores and maintenance and fabrication capabilities of the sites. We are wholly managed and operated by more than 50 local Egyptian employees. What has your role been throughout your time in Egypt with TWMA? • I initially joined the company in August 2006 as an Offshore Engineer before I was promoted to Operations Coordinator in April 2008, which was an office based role. In this role, I closely monitored the day-to-day operational teams and equipment present on client sites, and attended daily operations meetings with client representatives to coordinate the different service delivery aspects.
Abdelrahman Amin, General Manager - Egypt
A year later I then became Operations Manager before taking on my current role of General Manager in January 2013. This role allowed me to gain significant experience in both operational and contractual areas of our business. Equally, my responsibilities for service delivery, client satisfaction and achieving our HSEQ objectives and targets have enabled me to succeed in my progression to General Manager. I’m now responsible for the overall operational performance of our Egypt business unit and play an active role in business development and strategic activity for TWMA in the region. The company has provided valuable support throughout all of my roles and I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity of continued career progression throughout my journey with TWMA.

CUTTING EDGE : AUTUMN FEATURE
What have the highlights been for TWMA in this region? • In August 2013, we reached the fantastic milestone of employing 100% national employees for our Egypt bases. Earlier this year, we were awarded a three year contract with BP for the provision of an increased scope of waste management services which is testament to the long-standing, strong relationship we’ve established with BP in this region. In May of this year, we also reached five consecutive years with zero Lost Time Incidents across our onshore and offshore operations. This was a huge milestone for us and is underpinned by our hardworking and conscientious team who are committed to TWMA’s stringent safety culture, alongside the continuous development of our HSEQ management system.
Why has Egypt been such an important region for TWMA? • Egypt has always been such an important region for TWMA as our Alexandria and Cairo facilities were our first established operations in the MENA region. We have successfully introduced our innovative technology in the region to deliver waste management services to international companies and operators in Egypt, and have spent the last ten years building strong relationship with our clients. This has ensured we maintain a large presence in the region to allow us to diversify into other regions such as the UAE. What are TWMA’s growth plans for Egypt in the next 10 years? • We’re looking forward to working with operators to provide efficient and value driven solutions by bundling waste requirements into one contract, allowing us to increase our capabilities and support our full service offering in the region.

COMMUNITY
TWMA Shows Support for Peterhead Community Earlier this year, we were delighted to support the local community by sponsoring Peterhead FC’s Summer Coaching Programme. The annual programme is open to children aged 5-12 and aims to help the youngsters improve their football skills and confidence in a safe, fun environment. This year’s programme ran from 20-22 July and saw 65 children take part over the three days. TWMA’s sponsorship provided every child with a football t-shirt and free entry to Peterhead FC’s home match against Dundee FC. Peterhead youngsters with their TWMA sponsored strips
We feel it’s very important to give something back to the communities that we operate in, and commit to investing in several CSR initiatives every year. The Coaching Programme is a great initiative by Peterhead FC for youngsters during the summer months, helping them to develop new skills and the confidence to progress as they grow up. Peterhead is particularly important for us, as the location of our processing facility, and we’re delighted that we could support the Coaching Programme and local children from this area. TWMA will also be sponsoring Peterhead FC for the coming season and we look forward to following the team’s performance throughout the year.

Scottish Motocross Rider Benefits from TWMA Support
Shaun Simpson in action at the World Championships
We are delighted to have sponsored Scottish motocross rider, Shaun Simpson, for a second year. Shaun undertook his first American Motorcycle Association (AMA) professional race in the USA last year, thanks to sponsorship from TWMA which funded travel and participation in the AMA Motocross Championship. Shaun finished an impressive fourth place in the competition.
Several of TWMA’s employees are keen motocross enthusiasts so it’s fantastic to be supporting a Scottish rider as successful as Shaun. He has had an extremely exciting and successful career so far and we’re delighted to have supported him for a second year as he competed in global competitions.
This year, we supported Shaun’s entry and travel to competitions across the world including Germany, Spain, France and the US, allowing him to compete in key races and progress his career as one of the world’s leading motocross riders. Shaun has been the British Motocross Champion three times since 2008, and represented Team Great Britain four times at the prestigious Motocross of Nations.
