TWO WELLS WILL BE IN TOP GEAR!
The main street of Two Wells will be the start of this year’s Variety Bash event in August. Pictured with their “bash” cars are local residents Rodney Mildred and Elaine Ayres, who are excited about the tour starting here.

Hold onto your hats Two Wells, our town is set to kick off this year’s South Australian Variety Bash event. The Variety Bash is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary and has selected Two Wells as the place to start its tour on August 10. The well-known charity event will attract hundreds of people to the area and expose
REPORT: Bec O’Brien the region to a national audience, with more than 100 cars and 320 people participating this year. Two Wells resident, Elaine Ayres, is taking part in her seventh consecutive event,
and will drive with friends Cathy Suter and Janelle Hancock in their “Muppets” vehicle. Elaine says the event is so much fun and she’s met some truly inspiring people along the way. “It’s knowing you’ve raised money for an amazing cause and you’ve had fun doing it,” she laughed.
“Witnessing the grants they give out along the way is also wonderful. When you see grown men cry after receiving one of these grants, it really is just a terrific event.” Another local resident, Rodney Mildred, is a past “basher” and has taken part in 10 tours since 2000. n Continued page 2

The proposed Two Wells residential development by the Hickinbotham Group is progressing, slowly but surely. The District Council of Mallala’s Development Plan Amendment (DPA) is now with the State government awaiting Minister’s approval. As part of this process DCM also submitted a Development Deed between Ward Belt council and Hickinbotham, which outlined infrastructure requirements for the project Gawler and who would foot the bill for what.

“The deed will ensure infrastructure is planned and delivered as the community grows,” Hickinbotham Group managing director, Michael Hickinbotham, said. “The State government will determine the next steps (and) we fully support this process. “We look forward to continuing to work with all parties, including the community, under council’s leadership as the project progresses.”
More than 2500 homes have been earmarked for just north of the Two Wells township. DCM chief executive officer, Charles Mansueto, said the planning process had been lengthy but the community could be assured, from a council perspective, the project was going ahead. Mr Mansueto said council was hopeful it would have a response from the State government by the end of April.

The Lewiston community will soon get to have its say on planning for the future after the District Council of Mallala endorsed a project brief to conduct a community study at its March 25 meeting. DCM had set aside $50,000 for the project in its 2012/13 budget and will now engage the services of a suitably qualified consultant to help discover just what it is residents want for the area in the years to come. DCM chief executive officer, Charles Mansueto, said the study will be a great opportunity for residents to really have an input into how the district, and in particular open space areas, is developed; and is urging all ratepayers to have their say. “We are looking at the growth in the Lewiston area,” he said. “In terms of the community and recreational facilities, they are very limited (and) it (the study) will look at what’s being developed in which part of the district and it will take that broader view. “Where are the potential locations to put to the best use for the community? “It’s their chance to influence the development in the Lewiston area.”

DCM grader operator, John Algar, working on the intersection of Germantown and Hayman Road last month as part of the council’s road works program.
$850,000 spend will boost local roads Unless you’ve been driving around with your eyes closed (please don’t do this!) you would have noticed a lot of road works happening in the District Council of Mallala recently. This is all part of council’s commitment to improve roads in the district, with many being re-sheeted, some realigned and others sealed. DCM will spend more than $850,000 on roads before the end of this financial year, chief executive officer, Charles Mansueto, said with roads at the top of council’s road matrix targeted first. “Through the road matrix we identify the priority roads based on a set of criteria,” Mr Mansueto said. “Council is spending more money on road sealing in the district, with $370,000 being spent on sealing roads in Lewiston alone.” Altogether about 3.3 kilometres of roads or streets will be sealed, with council spending $865,000 in total by the end of June. Roads currently being targeted in council’s sealing blitz include Gilks Road in Lewiston, from between Lawrie Road to Pederick Road, and Pederick Road between Hayman Road and Gilks Road.
Pederick Road will also be sealed between Gilks Road and Dawkins Road. In Dublin, parts of Fourth, Fifth and Sixth street will be sealed at a cost of a little over $250,000. In Two Wells, the only road to be targeted is Williams Road, which will be sealed between Gawler Road and Hayman Road. The intersection of Hayman Rd and Germantown Rd has received Blackspot funding of $77,000 and works to realign and deviate this intersection will hopefully have been completed by the time the Echo goes to print. DCM operations manager, Keith Earl, said the intersection was renowned for near misses and the deviation would hopefully make it safer. The only footpath to feature in the program links with the railway pedestrian crossing on the Two Wells to Gawler Road. Funds for the path as part of the crossing were already allocated, however, the path will now be extended from the train line along Gawler Road to Gameau Road in this extra round of road spending.
• From page 1 Rodney can’t wait for the event to kick off in Two Wells later in the year and is excited by the amount of exposure the town will receive. In 2008 Rodney was the event’s highest fundraiser, raising a staggering $163,000 for the charity, and has enjoyed visiting some of the state’s, and Australia’s, lesser known towns and communities. This year’s event, titled “Off the Beaten Track”, will begin on August 10 and take in parts of the Eyre Peninsula, including Lucky Bay at Cowell and Streaky Bay, before heading inland through the Gawler Ranges to Quorn, then on to Burra and finally finishing at McLaren Vale on August 17. “The bash is putting the fun in fundraising,” Rodney smiled.
“It’s a meandering drive through the outback (and) we get to access parts of the country that are not open to the public.” District Council of Mallala mayor, Duncan Kennington, said the event will be a great opportunity for local sporting and community groups to benefit and also promote the district to a wide audience. “Variety is a well-respected charity doing excellent work assisting children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs,” Mr Kennington said. “Local businesses and community groups have the opportunity to be involved and share in the economic activity generated by the event (and) the media exposure of the event will attract attention to the council area and in particular the Two Wells township.”

New rates system for Mallala council
DistricT Council of Mallala residents will see a change in the way rates are calculated next financial year, after a proposed new rating system was endorsed at council’s meeting on Monday. The differential rating system means a change from a locality-based system of allocating rates to one of land use. Under the system residents’ rates will be assessed by three categories of land use; residential, primary production and, industrial and commercial, with a waste service charge and a fixed charge rate also being incorporated by council. DCM chief executive officer, Charles Mansueto said community information sessions outlining the proposed new system were held in Two Wells and Mallala on March 4 and 5, with about eight residents attending each session. “Generally the people are happy with the overall structure,” Mr Mansueto said. “(Now) we will start restructuring the budget based on the new rating policy.” The new system is due to come into effect from July 1.
JOHN DREXEL amidst the shellgrit on salt creek
JUST ADD WATER
Supporters of Salt Creek at Middle Beach are pursuing remedial actions in a bid to improve boating access, restore recreational activities and utilise resources. Middle Beach shack owner, John Drexel, speaking on behalf of the Mallala Foreshore Advisory Committee (MFAC) and the Two Wells Regional Action Team (TWRAT), of which he is a member of both, presented a deputation to District Council of Mallala on Monday, outlining a number of points for improving the creek and adjoining boat ramp, with hopes to establish a specific working committee for the project. Mr Drexel said the committee would consist of members from MFAC, TWRAT and DCM, and would focus on planning, sourcing funding and consulting with relevant authorities and bodies. He said the proposed plan was to remediate the creek by removing shellgrit over a distance of about 400 metres west to the outer edge of Middle Beach Lagoon and 50 metres east of the new boat ramp, which was constructed in September 2010.
Action plan aims to revitalise Middle beach Bec O’Brien reports:
“The proposal is for the creek to retain a minimum of one to one-anda-half metres of water at the lowest of tides,” Mr Drexel said. “This will allow boat launching at any time of the tidal cycle, providing an estimated extra hour or so of boat access per tide compared to the current situation, or to allow repairs to trailers without the problem of the boat still being on the trailer.” Current access and enjoyment of Salt Creek, he said, was severely restricted due to the constant buildup of shellgrit in the creek and the extremely low tides. “But one of the more important effects of remediating the creek will be to win back the former beach and water access denied to the community since the 1980s,”

Mr Drexel said. “Parts of the creek had permanent water up to three metres deep. “At that time there was a great deal of community use of Salt Creek for both young people’s activities and family picnicking groups. “These activities included wading, swimming and even diving, and many youngsters from far and wide learned to swim there. “It would be a great asset to have that part of the public amenity restored too.” Returning the creek to its original, deeper-water condition was especially important with the addition of many thousands of people to the local community after construction of the proposed housing developments at Two Wells and Buckland Park, he added. The proposal would see the removed shellgrit utilised in the area
by helping to build up an existing sand dune behind the community, which would act as a flood barrier. Establishing a second, larger carpark, and/or recreation area with the material is also being proposed. Mr Drexel said funding would be sought from the State and Federal governments for the project. “The main focus is to get the shellgrit out of the creek and use it as a resource,” he said. “But this is also a project to give the creek back to the community.” DCM chief executive officer, Charles Mansueto, said no councillors put forward a motion following Mr Drexel’s address, which means at this stage “council has not provided any direction as to whether they support the request for a working party.” He will be following up this issue in coming weeks. •Mallala Foreshore Advisory Committee is seeking new members to further promote conservation and use of the Samphire Coast. This project is a combined initiative involving Gawler Regional Natural Resource Centre (NRC) Gawler Environment and Heritage Association (GEHA) with support from the Urban Biodiversity Unit (UBU). Thousands of indigenous plants will be grown in the GEHA nursery from locally collected seed for this project. You have an opportunity to create a wildlife-friendly backyard by recreating the type of habitats that existed within our region preEuropean settlement. Plants selected for this project will help reintroduce the vegetation associations necessary to support our local wildlife. PROPERTY MARKING
Property marking is designed to reduce theft of valuables by individually marking all property. Stolen ‘marked property’is very difficult to sell and less attractive to a thief. Marked property allows police to trace the owners quickly. When marking household or business property we sometimes overlook items located in carports/ garages, tool/garden sheds and tools stored in the boot of vehicles. There are four effective ways to mark your property: 1. Engraving; 2. Ultra Violet Pen (UVP); 3. Data dots; 4. Other permanent means such as painting or stamping. Using an engraver, UVP or other permanent means, mark your items of value with your driver’s licence number preceded by the letter ‘S’ for South Australia. Two Wells Echo, April, 2013
With Maria Aunger If your property is stolen, the chances of items being returned to you by the police are increased. Some items such as jewellery, paintings, antiques etc are not suitable for engraving. Photograph the item instead, with a ruler beside the item to indicate its size. For more information on property marking or to enquire about hiring an engraver, contact NHW Area co-ordinators Dave Body on 8524 2036 or Maria Aunger on
specific plant pack order visit www.nrcgawler.org.au to access a list of available species. Orders can be taken up to the end of April, with plant pick up day mid June at the NRC centre opposite Mitre 10 Gawler. Planting information sessions will be available on the day. • In the last edition I talked about the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary. Since then I have visited a number of times only to be amazed at the agility and the friendly nature of these creatures. A sanctuary ranger told me of a resident dolphin in the St Kilda area named Captain Hook, who is about 35 years old, which is pretty old for dolphin. Unfortunately some people have been illegally feeding him and this causes him to hang around people who are fishing. Hook received a wound last year, which appears to have been made by a multipronged spear. Captain Hook is at risk of serious injury or even death if he keeps being fed. Please keep your distance and don’t feed him. Let’s all work together to protect these magical animals, so our children can enjoy what we have into the future. 8520 2328. Next Neighbourhood Watch meeting is Tuesday, April 9, at 7-30pm atTwo Wells RSL. Everyone is welcome. BLUE LIGHT DISCO A good turnout of youth at the first disco for the year kept the Blue Light team on their toes! It was wonderful to see so many kids come out to enjoy the music and company in a safe environment. Just a reminder that chewing gum is not allowed at these events. We would welcome volunteers interested in helping out at Blue Light discos – if interested, please contact Senior Constable John Winsor, or any of our local police on 85202309. The next Blue Light disco will be held on Friday, May 31 from 7pm to 9-30pm at Two Wells Community Centre. Discos are for youth aged 8 to 17 years. Entry is $5.
If sheep dogs are your thing, or you just love dogs in general, then all roads lead to Tarlee this month. The South Australian Working Sheepdog Association, in conjunction with the SAYard Dog Association will be hosting a weekend of competition. Border collies will battle it out against kelpies in a two trial program on April 13 and 14. Pat Wake, of Lewiston, will be competing for the third year in a row with her kelpies Doritos and Twistie and will be among other Adelaide Plains residents taking part. Watch the skill and patience required to work three sheep through a course of obstacles and see the skill and tenacity required to draft and work a flock of sheep through yards and into a truck. This is the fourth year this event has been run, giving patrons a rare opportunity to see two diverse types of trialling at the same venue. Catering facilities are available for lunches, tea breaks and snacks.

horse lovers should not forget the Two Wells Equestrian and Pony Club is holding its first One Day Event on private land at the end of Aunger Road on the weekend of April 27 and 28. It includes a purpose-built cross-country course. The club has not held such an event for many years due to a lack of space at their home grounds. Riders from across the state will compete in dressage events on Saturday, with show jumping and cross-country events set for Sunday. Entry is free and the action starts at 9am. Canteen available.

N
estled in the picturesque end of town, is an old stone cottage that holds much history of the Two Wells township within its ageing walls. Few people would know the little building, opposite the Two Wells football oval, had previously lived another life apart from its current use as the town bakery, now operated by Haydn and Pauline Routley. Alan Howell, long-time Two Wells resident, remembers only too well the use of the building as a barber shop. His uncle, Wilf Howell, was the town barber, and was
in every sense the traditional barber from yesteryear, complete with white coat and leather strop to sharpen his razor. Alan endured many trips to the Adelaide Children’s Hospital to correct his clubbed feet when he was a small child. He always was petrified of Wilf’s white coat when he was taken for a haircut. “I thought he must have been a doctor”, he chuckles, remembering the time more than 70 years ago. Many residents in the township refer to the time when the building was being used by an ‘undertaker’.
The previous owners, the Brownings, have told Haydn of its use as a makeshift morgue in the mid 19th century. Coachmen would load up their horse and carriage and bring travellers from Queensland down to South Australia. The long and arduous journey often resulted in some passengers dying along the way. Haydn was told the corpse was wrapped up in cloth and continued with the journey until reaching Two Wells and was then left in one of the two underground cellars of the building until it was collected for a more formal resting place.
Long time local resident and current librarian, Di Henwood, remembers the building being used a haberdashery store by Pam Moreton in the early 90s. You could purchase dress material, wool, buttons, ribbons and much more. The Brownings then turned it into a bakery. Haydn and his wife Pauline bought the business and the building in 2010 and have never looked back. He describes the Two Wells townspeople as ‘unbelievably supportive’ and their patronage has given them the confidence to expand and grow. He tells of tourists that walk
through the door who were advised to make a special detour to Two Wells, South Australia, just to visit the town bakery. “I had a couple come in who had been travelling across the Nullabor and were told about us along the way,” Haydn says surprisingly. The Routleys hope to extend the bake house and enlarge the shop area as well as replace the verandah and extend the seating area, rejuvenating the old building. Two Well’s residents expect the little stone cottage will continue to be an important part of the Two Wells township.

Two Wells Echo, April, 2013
Here’s a treat for those who love Australian rural writers. This month the Two Wells Public Library will feature Victorian writer, Margareta Osborn. Margareta will be in Two Wells on Monday April 15 at 1pm at the Two Wells Bowling Club. Margareta is a fifth generation farmer who has lived and worked on the land all her life. She has a deep love of the bush and of rural life in general. Her respect and admiration for its amazing resilient people is reflected in her captivating rural romance novels set in the high
country of East Gippsland. Author of bestseller “Bella’s Run” and e-novella “A Bush Christmas”, Margareta is currently on a national tour to promote her latest novel “Hope’s Road”. She lives in the picturesque Macalister Valley of East Gippsland with her family and spends many hours in the mountains in which her stories are set. For further information and free tickets to this event, contact the Two Wells Public Library on 8520 2100 during opening hours or email library@ mallala.sa.gov.au but be quick, seats are limited.

Harmony Day was celebrated across the country on Thursday, March 21, and students at Two Wells Primary School took the opportunity to engage in a variety of classroom activities. Many students made orange friendship bracelets, some classes did cooking, and others played games. TWPS counsellor, Judy Sanders, said the focus this year had been on recognising and appreciating the diversity of cultures within Australia, and students had really enjoyed exploring this. “Quite a number of the classes have participated in multicultural games,” Judy said. “We have students from a variety of backgrounds, including the Philippines, Bosnia, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Poland.” In Mrs Atterton’s Year 1/2 class, students listened to a variety of music from different parts of the world, including Egypt, Ireland and Africa. They were asked to concentrate on what the music sounded like and how it made them feel and then draw what they felt. An array of colourful, vibrant pictures was the end result.

A belated Shrove Tuesday was celebrated by Two Wells Uniting Church with pancakes, tea and coffee and a trading table held on Friday March 22. Setting up outside the Post Office once again, the dedicated band of happy volunteers kept the hot pancakes coming and warmed a hand or two with a steaming mug of coffee. There were also many goodies on offer at the neighbouring Red Cross trading table. Last month the group helped stage a successful pancake day at Two Wells Primary School and funds raised from this event will be added to the almost $800 raised so far. I think I can safely say, most of us are glad the hot, muggy weather we have all been treated to over the past few weeks is over. Autumn is here and Easter has been and gone. Over the March period, we only had five call outs, which included a house fire, two grassfires, a car fire and a road crash rescue with an injured driver. Farmers are now allowed to burn off WITH A PERMIT.
I
USED to laugh at the many associates of mine who were sporting a mobile phone with a badly cracked screen. I would point and giggle at their stupidity, as most of the time, a cracked phone screen is the result of complacency and disregard. For three years, I took close care of my iPhone 3 and displayed the perfect condition of my screen with pride. While others around me would crack, I was on top of my game, exercising caution with my preciously protected phone. Then, the Karma bus arrived and everyone on board kicked me firmly in

The watchdog Your entertainment and social media monitor the groin. I was reclining on my favourite portion of lounge suite and attempted to stand (this was my first mistake), only to have the phone in my lap tumble onto tiles below. It all happened in slow motion but on impact, the noise of crunching glass confirmed my greatest fear. Well, perhaps my greatest fear behind my fear of arriving at school naked, which is a recur-
ring dream of mine, but I digress. Yes, the screen was badly cracked, and all the king’s horses and all the king’s men, couldn’t put my screen together again. This led me to ordering a new phone, after such an extended spell of bliss with the old model. After what seemed like an eternity, my service provider at last delivered an iPhone 5 into my hot little hands. The phone itself
differs little from previous iPhones, although the altered charging function is a huge pain, while there is undoubted improvements in file space and speaker volume. The best feature of the new iPhone didn’t hit me until a few weeks after using the product, when I at last plugged the headphones provided into my computer. Following years of using a cheap pair of head-

It was like these headphones had been designed by the hands of the Almighty himself (or herself, whichever suits). I recommend the purchase of an iPhone 5 for the headphones alone! Rock on people!

Roosters raring to go THE 2013 season is looking very strong for the Two Wells Football Club. We’ve had a pretty good pre-season and there are currently not many injuries. Mark Tompson will once again lead the A Grade side and after last year’s premiership success, will be hoping to make it back-to-back flags. Assistant coach, Neville “Cheeky” Seccafien, will again support him. Coaching the B Grade side for the second year in a row, is Matt Gameau, so we’ve got some consistency across our coaching again this season. The club has two new players to the club – brothers Josh and Braidon Osborne. Braidon comes from Gawler South Football Club and plays
By Ben Harris, Two Wells Football Club manager
along the half forward line, while Josh previously played at the Barossa District Football Club as a midfielder and half forward player. Both will be playing senior football this year and the club is keen to see what they bring to the game. Unfortunately for the club, A grade player and best on ground in last year’s grand final, Jarrod Allmond, has returned to the SANFL’s Eagles – the club wishes him all the best there and many successful footy games. Daniel Hines is another who is unable to play this year, due to work commitments. These two players were
fairly important in last year’s success so we’ll be looking for other players to step up. Up and coming young player, Dylan Wise, who just missed out on playing in the grand final last year, has been training with SANFL club, Central Districts in the reserves, and will possibly not be available this season. Once again, A Grade stalwart, Simon Feast, will lead the ruck division and help Ben Slattery and Ben Stubing with their rucking development. Ned Seccafien and Tallan Leighton are the A Grade captains again this year, and we’ll see them lead on the field as they always do.
They will be supported in their roles by vice-captains, Kahn Leighton and Ben Spiteri. All the boys are jumping out of their skins to start the season, after playing a successful trial game against Broughton-Mundoora on Saturday March 23. Their first game is against Virginia on April 6, followed by a bye, and then they will play against Balaklava on April 20. The club looks forward to another successful season, and hopes to see lots of supporters out watching these young guys trying to go back-to-back with another A Grade premiership. TWO Wells Football Club welcomes new players, brothers Josh and Braidon Osborne.
Netballers will step out in classy new uniforms Two Wells Netball Club has an exciting season ahead, as the club welcomes a couple of new players, and young talent playing in the top grades. The club has had a great turn out to all trials and trainings, and all netballers are looking fit and excited about what lies ahead for the club. There are a few girls missing from last year’s top sides due to pregnancy and injuries, so there has been room to push up the talented young girls into the higher grades and watch them shine. This year there is no added pressure of having too many girls in total. This is largely due to there now being a 17 and under competition, meaning the girls usually eligible for seniors can now play 17 and under before starting in the senior grades.
Stacey Gameau outlines the season ahead for Two Wells Netball Club Some of the netballers who played in senior sides last year will also be in this team. The 17 and under grade will be a very strong competition, with some of the best juniors in the Adelaide Plains Netball Association playing. The netball club believes it has a strong side and it waits in anticipation to see how the teams go, especially with the assistance of Rhiannon Wendland’s
extensive experience, and Stephanie Walker in the coaching role. There will be five senior teams again this year. There was also almost a masters competition put forward this year for the 35+ age group, but this has been put off until next season (2014). So if you are over 35 and keen for a fun game next season, contact the club. Senior coaches this
year are: A1 - Stacey Gameau, who won’t be playing as she is pregnant with her second child. A2 - Neralie Wearn, who is also pregnant and may return during the season. A3 - Michelle Dimasi, who will coach and play. A4 and A5 will be led by Juanita (Winnie) Hamilton, who will also coach and play A4. Teams will look quite different to last year, but everyone is excited about the squads, and can see some real development
When the 2013 netball season kicks off, Two Wells Netball Club players will be stepping out in style in new uniforms. to mention is Phoebe Schmidt (who happens to be Dylan Wise’s better half!) She has been a fantastic pick up and will start in the A1 centre court this year. The club is all also psyched about the new modern styled A-line dresses – replacing the bodysuits – including a bike short. These are mostly red with white line details and a touch of silver. Along with the new dresses, the club will be sporting new warm
up tops. A big thank you to Loretta and the team at the Two Wells Tavern Motel, and Coxy and his team at Freightmaster for helping out with sponsorship of these tops. Thanks to all the coaches and committee members for their coming efforts this season. Good luck to all our netball and football teams – hopefully we can all be successful once again in September.
Net…Set…Go!
If you are keen to play netball, and you’re 10 years or younger, then head up to the Two Wells netball courts and take part in a new, fun netball initiative. The Two Wells Netball Club this year introduces NetSetGo, a national program developed to give children aged from five to 10 the best introduction to the sport. The program focuses on skill activities and aims to teach the basics of netball in a safe and fun environment. Minor games and modified matches are also part of the program. Registered participants receive a pack including a bag, netball and other goodies. NetSetGo will be run at the netball courts every Thursday at 5pm starting on May 2 (term two ,week one). Contact Bec O’Brien on 0419 292 715 for more information.

Three decades of softball
Thirty years of softball history, achievement and commitment was celebrated in Two Wells when the Gawler and District Softball Association marked three decades of competition with a dinner last month. Held at the Two Wells Community Centre on March 9, the evening highlighted the history of local softball and focused on many of the people who have contributed to the association over the years. The venue was a fitting location, considering the local Two Wells club is the only original club still competing in the association. Two Wells Softball Club president, Linda Gawler & District Softball Association club representatives, from left, David Seed (Blue Jays), Narelle Stevens (Masters), Rushton, said the night was a fabulous event Brooke Skewes (Giants), Linda Rushton (Two Wells), Amanda and a terrific opportunity to look back on the sport through the decades. Unger (Kangas) and Bernie Henson (Blue Jays). “It was a great night, everyone had a fantastic time walking back in time with so much memorabilia on display and the speeches were well researched,” Linda said. “There was such a great turn up by all clubs, and there was great food, great company and old friends re-found. “Thanks to Sally Green and Helena Dawkins for their hard work organising this great night; everyone is greatly anticipating the next reunion.” Two Wells Softball Club’s Sally Green gave a presentation on the night highlighting the club’s history and achievements of the past 30 years, as did representatives from other clubs in the association. “It was a great turn out and it was good to Past presidents of the Gawler and Districts Softball Association see some of the past players come back and be are, from left to right, Sue McRae, Debra Rullo, John Dawkins, involved in the event,” Sally said.
