REFLECTION

‘TEMPTED BY THE DEVIL’ The temptations experienced by Jesus in the wilderness were not temptations to moral evil as we usually understand it. They were no temptations to steal or murder or commit adultery. They were far more subtle: to give priority to material comfort, to have power over others, to test God. During Lent, let us take some time to examine our own attitudes: are we giving priority to God or in subtle ways putting ourselves first and God second?
