“you get sucked into the ‘Hyde park vortex’.”
Whats your age, hometown? 21, Bristol
Sponsors? Sore skateboards and recently indcsn! Where are you residing at the moment? What are you doing there?
Leeds, skating mainly with a some uni work on the side. I’m studying contemporary art I’m about half way through the course. I’m really enjoying living in Leeds!
How is Leeds skate scene compared to Bristol? Everyone seems to know each other in leeds. I think its because there is only one proper skatepark near the centre so everyone goes there. Hyde park is a good meeting place but its hard to leave and skate street, you get sucked into the ‘Hyde park vortex’. Whats your current set up & favourite shoe to skate at the moment? Sore deck 8.5, independent trucks with one venture hanger; I call it the ‘vindy’. I need to sort that out soon. Sml 53mm wheels and an unknown mixture of bearings. My favourite shoe is the Nike koston 1’s at the moment, comfiest shoe out there!
Whats the hardest & most fulfilling trick you have done on a skateboard? Favourite skater?
Inspirational video part? why?
Top 5 spots/parks?
Whats your favourite trick to do & whats the one basic you get a letter on in a game of skate? Any last words/thanks?
Possibly a bigspin front hurricane?.. Ted DeGros for steez, Shane Oneil for trick choice.
Sean Malto in pretty sweet. That part makes me want to try and skate bigger things. ‘Hyde park vortex’. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Hyde park, Leeds. Waterloo skatepark in Sydney, AUS. Stalin square, Prague. Lloyds, Bristol. Midsumer Norton when there isn’t 200 scooter kids there.
The bomb, heelflip! Thanks to everyone who I have met through skateboarding!
“when there isn’t 200 scooter kids there.”
Where are you living at the moment? Wheres home?
At the moment I’m living in Peckham , South London, but my family home is in Cornwall.
How did you get into skateboarding & filming? When did you start? I’m pretty sure my neighbors cousin (Christian Jackson) got me into playing with skateboards when we were probably about five but my dad taught me how to actually push around in the local school playground. I started filming when I was about seventeen because all my mates are so much better than me. What equipment do you prefure using? VHS? DV? or Digital?
Is there anything or anyone that inspires you within your interest as a filmer/editor?
Have you got a filming set up? If so what does it consist of? (board, wheels etc.)
Whats your top 3 video sections of all time? why?
I filmed a video in hd but I’ll use whatever - I don’t really have a preference. At the moment I’m filming a vx project with Joe Ventham
Just skating with all my mates and not wanting to miss it if something really good goes down.
krooked zig zagger some really old grind kings (haha) & some powell mini rat bones wheels.
It’s not a 100% concrete answer but: 1. Jake Johnson, photosynthesis I used to use it as a tool for hyping up my mate Joe all the time! 2. Mike Caroll - modus operandi 3. Keenan Milton - yeah right
You mainly film in Cornwall right? Whats the skate scene like?
The scene is really good! The last time I was down everyone was absolutely killing it. I mainly just skate with a small group of friends but whenever I go to the plaza in Truro there are loads of guys all hanging out which is cool.
Anyone to look out for in the near future? Wilson Dean. How do you find skating & filming in London compared to Cornwall? I barely film up here at the moment if I’m honest with you. I have done in the past, especially with my good friend Tom Delion, but at the moment I have a lot on with university and not many people to film! Joe.v and Isaac Blease do come up from time to time though and we skate then. Any favourite places or spots that stick out in your mind to skate or film? I like filming stuff around Penzance because that’s where I first started to skate properly. You have been slowly releasing parts from your video ‘DRNE’ what does it stand for? or is that classified info? DRNE is a joke name that we gave to this dirty pillow case in our apartment in Barcelona. We used to sabotage each other with it, the whole thing became pretty tense at times. Stuff like peoples whole wardrobes getting stuffed into it and then hanging it from lights haha. I ended it by throwing it out of the building onto a ledge so that we could all sleep in peace. It was for the greater good.
How long have you been filming ‘DRNE’?
We filmed it over about 2 years but most of it happened when we were in Barca and the few months after that.
Got any ideas for any future productions? I have ideas but nothing too big. I’m more on just making some smaller stuff and having fun. Any Last words/Thanks? Thanks to all the crew, Jody and Leo Smith and Sjs
“Strongbow one of my 5 a day!”

Ever broken a bone? Yeah I broke my wrist and fractured my hair line at the same time! I got into a front board down a hubba then next minute I was on my ass at the bottom haha! Whats your favourite local parks/spots? Umm.. favourite skate park has to be Faringdon and Glastonbury and favourite street spot has to be lloyds,Bristol! Current set up & shoes? Is there a trick you just love doing? Yeah, nollie 360 shuvit I have a lot of time for that trick! Your filming a video part at the moment, right? Whens the release?

“Nike Tick!” How old are you? wheres home? where are you now? I’m eighteen, born in London but been living in Falmouth since I was one. If you were sponsored what companies would you represent? dream? What are you up to at the moment other than skating? I hear you’re a ground breaking artist? Do you like pablo picaso?
If you had to get a tattoo what would it be? How did you get into skating?
Palace durr!
He’s a great guy. Yeah I’m studying an art diploma at the moment.
Nike Tick!
Through one of my friends younger brothers, about 6 years ago maybe. He was always skating outside they’re house when I went over.
How good is the kernow Cornish skate scene? There’s a strong scene in Truro and in Penzance, but where I live it’s all a bit weird. I often see other skateboarders in Falmouth but because there isn’t a decent skate park to act as a go to spot, no one really knows each other. It’s slowly getting better though.
Top spots/parks In Cornwall?
Top 5 spots/parks you have ever skated?
Who are your top five favourite skateboarders of all time?
1. Plaxa, Truro 2. Falmouth Pier 3. That swimming pool, Falmouth
Haven’t really been to all that many places; Truro plaza’s good. There’s some really great spots right by where I stay when I go to London. I’m like a block away from that 3 up 6 down, is it? There’s that waxed up block on Bessborough Street right by too.
Kevin Coakley usually makes my top spot. Right now my favourites are: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
What is your current set up?
Favourite trick you have seen someone else do?
Favourite trick you have done?
Kevin Coakley Snowy Clint Peterson Torey Goodall Alex Olson
I got some new wheels now and they go really fast!
Hahaha, saw some sweet moves at the Fallen demo at Mount Hawke a while back.
Hahaha!
If you had to pick one video section what would it be? It’s got to be Jason Dill’s part in Habitat, Mosaic but I also really like Joey Pressey’s part in Horizons. The kickflip out over a fence at Southbank where he catches it early and brings it round is golden.
