Dressing Your Venue to Impress We, Jane & Martin Garnett have been running Wedding Creations now for 5 years and before we started our company we both worked in hotels for 7 years so we have seen it all when it comes to weddings, the good, the spectacular and the ugly. With all our experience we do have some words of advice for all brides and grooms. When it comes to dressing a room this is a perfect opportunity to add your own personal touch, don’t be afraid to do things yourself and use your own ideas and if you need to ask advice from professionals, whether it be your venue or your venue dressers don’t hesitate. When choosing your colour scheme or theme be open minded everything doesn’t have to match the bridesmaid dresses, after all you may have 60+ guests and only 2/3 bridesmaids don’t let that dictate the overall look of the room, also don’t be afraid to mix colours and or shades, when we got married we have silver and purple as our colour scheme and we used the whole pallet of purples within the table decorations, chair sashes, bridesmaid dresses, stationery and bouquets to create the look we wanted. Sometimes less is more, the old cliché but it is true when it comes to dressing a room especially when you have a strong colour scheme, think of how you want the room to look you can create an impact with the chair sashes but then have subtle colours on your tables with your centrepiece, name cards, favours, menu cards etc or vice versa have simple soft colours with your chair covers and sashes and create the impact on your tables with your centrepieces, name cards etc what you don’t want is too much colour dominating the room. This is the reason we have a showroom so all our brides and grooms can come down and try their ideas on our tables and chairs before your big day. Some jobs are better left to the professionals, one of the reasons we decided to set up Wedding Creations is when we were working in hotels we would see bride and grooms rushing around and stressing the morning of their big day trying to fit chair covers that didn’t fit the venues chairs and that weren’t ironed as they had ordered them over the internet. This is why we offer a service which takes all the hassle and stress away, we ensure that the chair covers fit the chairs, we lovingly wash dry and iron all our chair covers and we make all the setup and collection arrangements with your venue so you don’t have to worry about a thing.
