What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? Throughout the process of making me media product I have learnt to use a variety of tools to help improve the quality of my work. This includes different online blogs and software’s to get the best results of my product. Here are a few tools I used and how I used them:
Adobe Photoshop To create my media products I used Photoshop as it was a well recognised piece of software for creating images and anything visual. This was a very useful tool for producing my media product as it has many features such as cropping, blending, patching etc. which makes my magazine look realistic and professional. The only downside to this product is that because it is such a complex programme it takes a little while to get used to it. But from using this software for the product I can use this programme properly and comfortably.
Microsoft word I have used Microsoft word throughout the making of this product to construct evaluations and answers to questions quickly and efficiently. I have had no problems with using this software as it has clear instructions and is straight forward to get professional results.
Blogger I have used blogger to store all of my work throughout this project as it is the easiest way to access both my finished products and planning tasks quickly. It is also I fast way for teachers to access my work so I can get constructive feedback to improve. This was a good tool to use throughout my
Flickr I used Flickr for both my final products and research. I used the notes addition within Flickr to annotate different well known magazine covers and my final products. This was a useful tool as it is a quick and easy way to annotate images. I could also embed the image onto my blog so I could access it directly from by blog.
Olympus Trip 35
I used an Olympus Trip 35 to capture the images from my front cover and contents page. I decided to use this camera as it is a film camera and will create a vintage look to the image. This would also attract the targeted audience who enjoy photography. This may also help the magazine stand out to the other top market magazines. The only negative about using this camera is that because it was film it took a while to develop the images and then I had to scan them to the computer etc.
Survey Monkey
To gather audience research I used survey monkey as I could create a simple survey fast and send it out to lots people via email. This was a very reliable tool as I could gather information from a large amount of people in a short space of time. The website also gives you the option to but your survey results into a graph which I found was very useful with showing my research results.
