COCKTAIL ESSENTIALS Can’t Go Without
Glasses Glassware is essential to the presentation a cocktail. Citrus Citrus balances out the sweet tones in cocktails. Fresh juices taste better in cocktails than processed ones. Simple Syrup 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water. Add your ingredients in a pan. Boil the mixture Stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Let cool down and bottle. Ice Ice is one of the most essential ingredients in a cocktail for two reasons: dilution and cooling. You can buy ice cubes or you can easily prep it in your freezer.

COCKTAIL TOOL GUIDE
Measure The first tool needed is a way to measure liquid. In this case, a jigger.
Shaker This is required for any drink that needs to be shaken, and the glass half can be used as a mixing glass as well.
Strainer After drinks are shaken with ice, they need to be strained into their final vessel. Something called a Hawthorne strainer is the classic choice.
Bar Spoon Once you have the technique down, stirring a drink is quite satisfying.

Muddler Some times, to get more flavor out of your fruits or vegitables, you need to muddle them.
Juicer A tried and true glass, steel, or porcelain juicer will extract the most juice from each fruit.
Bitters The great thing about bitters is they last indefinitely if stored in a dry and temperate place.
Soda Look for 8 oz versions of Tonic and Club Soda. Always keep some around.
Simple Syrup Heat equal parts sugar and water into a pot until dissolved, and add flavoring. Store in fridge in a sealed container.
Glassware Having a nice rocks glass (also referred to as an Old Fashioned glass) is a must. They are by far the most versatile.
Peeler When adding a slice of citrus peel for garnish or additional flavor, a peeler will make easier work of it.
Julep Strainer The type of strainer that should be used in conjunction with a mixing glass.
Fine Mesh Strainer For certain drinks, a technique known as “double straining is desired, in which the drink passes through two strainers before pouring into the glass. All images provided by studioneat.com
